HiTower® ZR7500 and R7500 Series The ZR7500 HiTower® easily retrofits SDC’s previous Model 5000 HiTower® door preparation or other major mortise lock brands with only a slight modification to the existing door preparation. The ZR/R7500 incorporates the same design features used on SDC’s Model 7500 HiTower®. SDC’s patented and U.L. Listed HiTower® locks have established a high standard of safety and security for stair tower doors, and for other duallocking and latching door requirements for many years. It is the only lock of this type that can deadlock the mortise lock directly by the actuator with no auxiliary dead locking cam linkage required. This simplified action adds both greater security and increased reliability. A built-in shock absorber keeps the lever action smooth, to prevent any binding pressure or other potential damage to components. The complete SDC ZR7500 HiTower® utilizes a mechanically modified SDC mortise lock in the door and with the SDC electric actuator in the door frame. SDC also performs lock conversions of customer supplied Schlage L9080 mortise locks (source code R7500). SDC modifies the mortise lock and provides the electric actuator. Features Specifications Operating Voltages • 24 VDC • 24 VAC • 115 VAC Power Consumption 450 mA @ 24 VDC 500 mA @ 24 VAC 200 mA @ 115 VAC Building Code Compliance NFPA, IBC, IFC, UBC, SBC and BOCA. • U.L. Listed heavy-duty mortise lock in door, with .75" throw deadlocking mortise latch bolt. • SDC electric actuator in the frame. No electric mortise lock set and no wiring through the door. No power transfer hinge required on single doors. Failsafe. • Small size of actuator allows installation in standard 2" hollow metal frames. • Actuator assembly is sealed. No internal working parts are exposed. • Actuator mechanism does not project beyond frame. No electric bolt to bind or jam due to door misalignment. • Horizontal compensation for door clearance of up to 0.3125" to ensure deadlocking. • Full monitoring is available with the optional SPDT sensors. Latch and door position sensor is (L). The door secure sensor (S) incorporates both the latch/door position sensor in addition to monitoring the HiTower® locking mechanism. Factory assistance in retrofit installations. R7500 Series Operation The locking action is provided entirely by the mortise lock in the door. Remote control is by the ZR/R7500 Series HiTower® electric actuator in the frame. Locking functions needed to meet normal operating requirements are available, including access controls for locking or unlocking, plus mechanical or electric key switch control, or mechanical lever operation. Protected by one or more of the following U.S. Patents: 6,363,363 4,596,411 5,876,073 4,623,178 4,623,181 4,641,867 4,634,155 6,363,763 • Locking operation deadlocks the latch bolt, and internally blocks rotation of outside and/or inside lever. • Key operation directly retracts the latch bolt even though the outside trim remains rigid until door is pulled open. • Designed to interface with standard access systems.
