BTK-22 Stereo Bluetooth Headset User Manual
Thank you for purchasing the Bluetooth Stereo Headset BTK-22 we hope you will be delighted
with its operation.
Please read this user manual to get started, and to make the best use of the headset’s many
features.
Drive safety
Using a mobile phone while driving creates a distraction to the driver which may increase the
likelihood of an accident. When using the phone while driving, keep conversation short and do not
make notes or read documents. Before answering calls consider your circumstances. Pull off the
road and park before making or answering calls when driving conditions require (e.g. bad weather,
high traffic density, and presence of children in the car, difficult junctions or maneuvers)
Remember, driving comes first, not the call!
Abide by local laws.
BEFORE USING YOUR HEADSET
Getting to know your Bluetooth Stereo Headset
Getting Started
To use your Bluetooth Stereo Headset, please follow these simple steps:
l Charge your headset
l Pair your headset with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile handset
Charging Your Headset
Your headset uses a rechargeable battery. You must charge the battery fully before using the
headset for the first time.
Simply plug in provided USB cable to USB port then to USB Car Charger Adaptor / Notebook
Computer / Desktop Computer. Headset will start charging. The red indicator of headset will turn
on when charging. When the battery is full, the red indicator of the headset will turn off.
1) Charge the headset until the red light on the headset turn off.
2) The headset will be fully charged in approximately 1 hour.
3) Remove the USB cable from the charging socket. .
IMPORTANT: The headset cannot be used while charging.
Talk& standby Time
The full charged batter offers about 8 hours* talk time, 10 hours* play time and 200 hours*
standby time. When no calls are in progress, the headset remains turn on in standby mode.
*Depending on the phone type and usage, the actual time may vary.
Low Battery
When Battery of the headset is low, there is a beep, and flashes in red instead of blue during
standby model.
Turning Your Headset On and Off
Turn on the headset
Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds until you hear a short beep. The LED will flash
blue for 3 times.
IMPORTANT: Press the ON/OFF button again each time you turn on the headset to reactivate
pairing so that connection between the headset and the mobile headset is resumed. For pairing,
please refer to “pairing your headset”
Turning Off the headset
Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 second until you hear a long beep. The LED will flash
red for 3 times.
Pairing Your Headset
Prior to using your Bluetooth Stereo Headset for the first time, you must pair it with a
Bluetooth-enable mobile handset.
1. Place the headset and the mobile handset where they are easily viewable by no more than 1
meter apart.
2. Ensure the headset is OFF.
3. Press and hold the On/Off button for 4 seconds until the headset LED alternately flashes blue
and red.
4. Active your mobile handset’s Bluetooth function by referring to your mobile handset user
guide for details.
5. Set the mobile handset to search for Bluetooth devices with in about 1 meter, as instructed in
the mobile handset user guide and select “BTK-22” from the list.
6. Enter the preprogrammed passkey “0000” and press “OK” to pair your headset and mobile
handset. When the pairing is complete, the headset LED will flash blue.
7. Press: Return” to go back to your mobile handset’s main menu. For certain mobile handset
models, a headset icon will be shown on the screen. You should now be able to make and
receive calls using your headset.
IMPORTANT: If the pair cannot be completed within 1 minute while the pairing mode is
activated, the headset LED flashes blue each 1 second. Please repeat step 2 to 7 to pair the headset
and the mobile handset again.
Using Your Headset
Play
Press PLAY/PAUSE button while being connected to your Bluetooth audio device.
Press PLAY/ PAUSE button while the music is stopped.
The music automatically comes back after you ended a call if you answered a call while listening
to music
IMPORTANT: This function is only applicable to mobile handset with Bluetooth Handsfree
Profile. Functionality varies depending on the mobile handset model you have. Please refer to
your mobile handset user guide for additional information.
PAUSE
Press PLAY/PAUSE button while listening to music
Press PLAY/PAUSE button again to listen to the song from the paused part
Play the previous / next song
Press FF button while music is on to play the next song.
Press REW button while music is on to play the previous song.
Adjusting the volume
Press Volume up [+] on your headset to increase the volume level and Volume down [-] to
decrease the volume level.
Answering a call
To answer a call, wait for the headset to ring, then press the ON/OFF button to accept the call or
answer the call via your mobile handset in the normal way.
Ending a call
Press the ON/OFF button to end your call or end the call via your mobile handset in the normal
way.
Change conversation model
Press ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to change the conversation model between headset and
mobile handset
Voice dialing from your headset
If your mobile handset is equipped with a dialing function, simply press the ON/OFF button on
your headset and when you hear a beep, say voice tag.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure to record voice tag into the mobile handset first before using
voice dialing function.
IMPORTANT: This function is only applicable to mobile handset with Bluetooth Handset profile.
Functionality varies depending on the mobile handset model you have. Please refer to your
handset user guide for additional information
Last Number Redialing from your headset
Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds, you can repeat latest call.
IMPORTANT: This function is only applicable handsets with Bluetooth Handsfree profile.

Rejecting a call
When you receive a call, press and hold the volume down [-] for 2 seconds to reject the call.
Depending on your phone’s setting for type, you may only be able to mute the ringer or this
feature is not supported.
Switching off the microphone
While you are on a call, press the play/ pause button to switch off the headset’s microphone. To
switch it back on, press the button again (There is a beep each 7 seconds after microphone was
off)
TIP: In a noisy environment, the clearance of the voice quality would be better if you hold the
stereo headset and keep the distance 10 cm from you mouth.
Care and Maintenance
Headset
Consider turning your headset off before placing it in your pocket or bag. If the ON/OFF button is
accidentally depressed, your mobile handset may place an unintended call.
l
Do not expose the headset to liquid, moisture or humidity as it is not waterproof.
Do not use abrasive cleaning solvents to clean the headset
Do not expose the headset to extremely high or low temperatures.
Do not dispose of the headset in a fire as it will result in an explosion
Do not expose your headset your headset to contact with sharp objects as this will cause
scratches and damage.
Do not stick anything inside the headset as this may damage internal components
Do not attempt to disassemble the headset as it does not contain serviceable components
If you do not use the headset for long periods, be sure to store it in a dry place, free from
extreme temperatures and dust.
Built-in Battery
Do not attempt to replace the headset’s battery yourself as it is in-built and is not changeable
Charge the battery in accordance with the instruction supplied with this user guide.
Only use the manufacturer supplied charger when charging the headset
Charging
l Only use the manufacturer supplied charger when charging the headset
l Do not disassemble the charger as is may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks.
Incorrect reassembly can cause electric shock when the headset is subsequently used
l Do not use the charger outdoors or in damp areas.
l Only charge the headset’s built-in battery in accordance with the instructions of this user
guide
l Avoid charging the headset in extremely high or low temperatures
Safety Information
Check local laws regarding use of a mobile handset and headset while driving. If you use the
headset while driving, ensure your attention and focus on your responsibility of driving
safely.
l Never allow children to play with the headset-small part may be a choking hazard
l Observe all signs that require an electrical device or RF radio product to be switched off in
designated areas. These could include hospitals, blasting areas, and potentially explosive
atmospheres
l Turn off your headset prior to boarding an aircraft. Do not use your headset in an aircraft
Troubleshooting
If you are unable to connect your headset and mobile handset, please try the following:
l Ensure your headset is turned on an is properly charged
l Ensure the headset is paired with your mobile handset
l Ensure your mobile handset’s Bluetooth feature is activated. Please refer to your mobile
handset for specific instruction.
l
Ensure the headset is with in a maximum of 10 meters of your mobile handset(s) and there
are no obstructions, such as walls or other electronic\ devices in between.
If the above steps do not resolve your problem. Please recharge the headset and remove your
mobile handset for a while.
The Bluetooth Stereo Headset is compliant with and adopts the Bluetooth Specification V1.2.
However, interoperability between the device and other Bluetooth-enabled products is nor
guaranteed because it depends on compatibility. For more information on the compatibility
