Safety precautions
Never disassemble or modify your speaker for any reason. Doing this
may cause the speaker to malfunction or become combustible. Bring
the speaker to an authorised service centre for repairs.
When using your speaker while driving, follow local regulations in the
country or region you are in.
Avoid storage at high temperatures (above 50° C/122° F), such as in
a hot place or in direct sunlight, as this can damage performance and
reduce battery life.
Do not expose the speaker or any of its parts to rain or other liquids.
Do not use the speaker in humid places or handle it with wet hands.

Charging the speaker
This speaker has a rechargeable internal battery which is non-
removable. Charge the battery completely before using the speaker for
the first time.
Using the charger
1 Open the cover to the charger jack on the top of the speaker.
2 Plug the small end of the charger into the charger jack.

3 Plug the large end of the charger into a power outlet.
While the speaker is charging, the icon will appear on the display.
4 When the speaker is fully charged (the icon is no longer moving),
unplug the charger from the power outlet and the speaker.
When the battery power is low
The speaker will emit a warning tone. If the speaker powers off during a
call, the call will automatically transfer to your phone.

Mounting the speaker in your vehicle
1 Slide the mounting bracket with the slot in the back of the speaker.
2 Slide the speaker onto a sun visor in your vehicle.

Using your speaker
This section explains how to turn the speaker on, pair and connect to
the phone, and use various functions.
Available functions and features may differ depending on your type of
phone.
Some devices, especially those that are not tested or approved by the
Bluetooth SIG, may be incompatible with your speaker.

Turning the speaker on or off
To turn the speaker on, slide [ ] to the on position. You will hear an
alert and the display will turn on.
To turn the speaker off, slide [ ] to the off position.

Pairing and connecting the speaker
Pairing will create a unique and encrypted wireless link between
two Bluetooth enabled devices, such as a Bluetooth phone and your
Bluetooth speaker.
To use the speaker with other Bluetooth devices, the devices must be
paired. When trying to pair the two devices, keep the speaker and the
phone reasonably close together. After pairing, you can connect the two
devices.
Pairing and connecting the speaker to a phone
1 To enter Pairing mode, press and hold [ ].
When you turn on the speaker, it automatically enters Pairing mode.
2 Activate the Bluetooth feature on your phone and search for the
speaker (see your phone’s user manual).
3 Select the speaker (BSP1000) from the list of devices found by your
phone.

4 Enter the Bluetooth PIN (0000, 4 zeros) to pair and connect the
speaker to your phone.
Your speaker supports the Simple Pairing feature which allows the
speaker to be paired with a phone without requesting a PIN. This feature
is available for phones that are compliant with Bluetooth version 2.1 or
higher.
Disconnecting the speaker
To disconnect the speaker from your phone,
Slide [ ] to the off position to turn the speaker off.
Use the Bluetooth menu on your phone.
Reconnecting the speaker
When the speaker is paired with a phone, it will attempt to automatically
reconnect each time you turn the power on.
If the speaker does not automatically attempt to reconnect,
Press [ ].

Using call functions
Making a call
Redialling the last number
Press and hold [ ] to redial the last number.
For some phones, pressing [ ] opens the call log list. Press [ ] again
to dial the selected number.
Dialling a number by voice
Press [ ] and say a name to dial a number by voice.
Answering a call
When you hear incoming call tones, press [ ] to answer a call .
Ending a call
Press [ ] to end a call.
Rejecting a call
When a call comes in, press and hold [ ] to reject a call .

Using options during a call
You can use the following functions to control your call:
Adjusting the volume
Press [ / ] to adjust the volume.
Muting the microphone
Press both volume buttons at the same time to mute the microphone.
Transferring a call between the phone and the speaker
Press [ ] to transfer a call from the phone to the speaker.
Press and hold [ ] to transfer a call from the speaker to the phone.
Placing a call on hold
Touch [ ] to place the current call on hold.
Answering a second call
When you hear call waiting tones, touch [ ] to end the first call and
answer a second call.
When you hear waiting tones, touch [ ] to place the first call on
hold and answer a second call .
To switch between the current call and a held call, touch [ ].
Rejecting a second call
When you hear call waiting tones, touch [ ] to reject a second call.

Listening to music
1 Touch [ ].
Playback begins and sound output switches to the speaker.
2 Control playback with the following buttons:
: Touch to pause or resume playback. Touch and hold to stop
playback.

Answering a call while listening to music files on your
phone
When a call comes in while listening to music files on your phone, your
speaker will alert you so that you can answer the call.
1 When the speaker sounds incoming call tones, press [ ].
The music stops and the call is connected with the caller.
2 When you have finished the conversation, press [ ].
Your phone automatically resumes playback after the call.

Setting a DNSe sound effect
DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) is a technology that enhances your
listening experience.
1 Before setting a DNSe sound effect, make sure that the FM
transmitter is deactivated. To deactivate it, touch and hold [ ].
2 While listening to music, touch [ ] to select one of the following
sound effects:
Studio mode
Rock mode
Speech Enhance mode

Using the speaker as an FM transmitter
You can use the speaker as a radio transmitter to listen to music via
your car stereo.
1 While listening to music, touch and hold [ ] to activate the FM
transmitter feature.
2 Press [ / ] to select a radio station.
You can also press and hold [ ] to scan through available radio
stations.
3 To save the radio station, press and hold [ ]. You can save up to 3
radio stations (The , and icons will appear on the display
to denote saved stations).
4 To switch the sound output back to the speaker, touch and hold
[].

Using the Text to Speech (TTS) feature
When the Text to Speech (TTS) feature is activated, your speaker will
read a caller’s number aloud when a call comes in.
Activating or deactivating the TTS feature
Touch [ ] to activate or deactivate the TTS feature.
Selecting a TTS language
1 Slide [ ] to the off position.
2 Press and hold [ ], then slide [ ] to the on position.
The display shows the current language.
3 Press [ / ] to select a language.
4 When you are finished, press [ ] to save the setting.
The speaker will restart automatically.

Connecting the speaker to a music player
You can use your speaker with a phone and a Bluetooth-enabled music
player at the same time.
1 First, pair the speaker with a phone. See page 13.
2 When successful, press and hold [ ]. The speaker will sound an
alert.
3 Search for, pair, and connect to the music player by following the
instructions in the music player’s user manual.
4 Press and hold [ ] to connect to the paired phone.
5 When the phone and the music player are successfully connected to
the speaker, you can make or answer a call while listening to music.
You must use the music player to start, pause, and resume playback, and
scan backward and forward in a music file.

Using Power saving mode
When the speaker remains idle for more than 5 minutes except when
the speaker is charging, the speaker will enter Power saving mode.
To return to Normal mode, touch or press any button.

with laptops, PCs, and

Why do I hear static
or interference while
on a call?
Appliances such as cordless phones and
wireless networking equipment may cause
interference, which usually sounds like
static. To reduce any interference, keep
the speaker away from other devices that
use or produce radio waves.

Will my speaker
interfere with my
radio or computer?
Your speaker emits signals that are
in compliance with the international
Bluetooth standard. Therefore, you should
not expect any interference with standard,
consumer-grade electronic equipment.
Why do I hear an
echo while on a call?
Adjust the speaker volume, or move away
from the speaker and try again.
How do I clean my
speaker?
Wipe it with a soft dry cloth.

Warranty and parts replacement
Samsung warrants this product as free of defects in material, design
and workmanship for the period of one year from the original date of
purchase.(Depending on your country, the length of warranty may vary.)
If during the period of warranty this product proves defective under
normal use and service you should return the product to the retailer
from whom it was originally purchased or a qualified service centre. The
liability of Samsung and its appointed maintenance company is limited
to the cost of repair and/or replacement of the unit under warranty.
