Safety precautions • Never disassemble or modify your speakers for any reason. Doing this may cause the speakers to malfunction or become combustible. Bring the speakers to an authorised service centre for repairs. • Avoid storage at high temperatures (above 50° C/122° F), such as in a hot place or in direct sunlight, as this can damage performance and reduce speakers life. • Do not expose the speakers or any of their parts to rain or other liquids. Getting started This section explains the proper use of your Bluetooth speakers. The items supplied with your speakers may vary depending on your region. Button functions Button Functions Power Touch and hold to turn the speakers on or off. Talk • Touch to make or answer a call. • Touch to end a call. • Touch and hold to enter Pairing mode. REW • Touch to skip backward. • Touch and hold to scan backward in a file. Play/Pause/ Stop • Touch to launch the music player. • Touch to begin or pause playback. • Touch and hold to stop playback. FF • Touch to skip forward. • Touch and hold to scan forward in a file. Functions DNSe Touch to select a DNSe sound effect. Volume control Touch to adjust the volume. English Button • The indicator light on the speakers will turn red when the volume reaches its lowest or highest level. • Do not use the speakers in humid places or handle them with wet hands. Assembling and preparing your speakers 1 Insert the speaker stems in the holes in the base and adjust them as desired. 2 Plug the small end of the power cord into the power jack. English 3 Plug the large end of the power cord into a power outlet. Using your speakers This section explains how to turn the speakers on, pair and connect with the phone, and use various functions. • Available functions and features may differ depending on your type of phone. • Some devices, especially those that are not tested or approved by the Bluetooth SIG, may be incompatible with your speakers. Turning the speakers on or off • To turn the speakers on, touch and hold [ ] until you hear an alert and the indicator light flashes. • To turn the speakers off, touch and hold [ ] until you hear an alert. 10 English Pairing and connecting the speakers Pairing will create a unique and encrypted wireless link between two Bluetooth enabled devices, such as a Bluetooth phone and your Bluetooth speakers. To use the speakers with other Bluetooth devices, the devices must be paired. When trying to pair the two devices, keep the speakers and the phone reasonably close together. After pairing, you can connect the two devices. Pairing and connecting the speakers with a phone 1 To enter Pairing mode, touch and hold [ an alert. ] until the speakers sound When you turn on the speakers, they automatically enter Pairing mode. 2 Activate the Bluetooth feature on your phone and search for the speakers (see your phone’s user manual). 11 3 Select the speakers (BSP6000) from the list of devices found by your phone. 4 Enter the Bluetooth PIN (0000, 4 zeros) to pair and connect the speakers to your phone. Your speakers support the Simple Pairing feature which allows the speakers to be paired with a phone without requesting a PIN. This feature is available when the phone is compliant with Bluetooth version 2.1 or higher. Disconnecting the speakers To disconnect the speakers from your phone, • Touch and hold [ ] to turn the speakers off. • Use the Bluetooth menu of your phone. Reconnecting the speakers When the speakers are paired with a phone, they will attempt to automatically reconnect each time you turn the power on. If the speakers do not automatically attempt to reconnect, 12 • Touch and hold [ ]. • Use the Bluetooth menu of your phone. English Using call functions Making a call Redialling the last number Touch and hold [ ] to redial the last number. For some phones, touching [ ] opens the call log list. Touch [ again to dial the selected number. Dialling a number by voice Touch [ ] and say a name to dial a number by voice. Answering a call Touch [ ] to answer a call when you hear incoming call tones. Ending a call Touch [ ] to end a call. Rejecting a call Touch and hold [ ] to reject a call when a call comes in. 13 Using options during a call You can use the following functions to control your call: Adjusting the volume Touch [ / ] to adjust the volume. Transferring a call from the phone to the speakers Touch [ ] to transfer a call from the phone to the speakers. Placing a call on hold Touch and hold [ ] to place the current call on hold. Answering a second call Touch [ ] to end the first call and answer a second call when you hear call waiting tones. Touch and hold [ ] to place the first call on hold and answer a second call when you hear waiting tones. To switch between the current call and the held call, touch and hold [ 14 ]. English Using music control functions Listening to music 1 Touch [ ]. 2 If your phone asks whether to listen to music via the speakers, select Yes or OK. The music player launches and sound output switches to the speakers. 3 Control playback with the following buttons: • • • • : Touch to pause or resume playback. : Touch to skip backward. Touch and hold to scan backward. : Touch to skip forward. Touch and hold to scan forward. / : Touch to adjust the volume. 15 Answering a call while listening to music When a call comes in while you are listening to music, your speakers will alert you so that you can answer the call. 1 When the speakers sound incoming call tones and the blue indicator light flashes twice, touch [ ]. The music stops and you are connected with the caller. 2 When you have finished the conversation, touch [ ]. Your phone automatically resumes playback after the call. 16 English Setting a DNSe sound effect DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) is a technology that enhances listening experience. 3D sound mode simulates the surround sound, while Bass boost mode reinforces the bass output. 1 Touch [ ] until the desired sound effect is selected. 2 Touch and hold [ ] to check the current sound effect setting. Sound effect LED indicator Standard Blinks once 3D sound mode Blinks twice Bass boost mode Blinks three times 3D & Bass boost mode Blinks four times The DNSe feature is not available when you use the line-in cable to connect to an external device. 17 Connecting the speakers to a music player You can use your speakers with a phone and a Bluetooth enabled music player at the same time. 1 First, pair the speakers with a phone. See page 11. 2 When successful, touch and hold [ alert. ]. You must use the music player to start, pause, and resume playback, and scan backward and forward in a music file. 18 English Connecting the speakers to another device via . the line-in cable You can connect your speakers to a music player with the supplied linein cable. 1 Touch and hold [ ] to turn the speakers off. 2 Connect one end of the line-in cable to the line-in jack and the other to the music player. 19 Using Power saving mode When no device is connected to the speakers and they remain idle for more than 5 minutes, the speakers will enter Power saving mode. To return to Normal mode, touch and hold [ 20 ]. English Appendix Frequently asked questions Will my speakers work with laptops, PCs, and PDAs? Your speakers will work with devices that support the same Bluetooth version and profiles. For specifications, see page 25. Why do I hear static or interference while on a call? Appliances such as cordless phones and wireless networking equipment may cause interference, which usually sounds like static. To reduce any interference, keep the speakers away from other devices that use or produce radio waves. 21 22 Will my speakers interfere with my radio or computer? Your speakers emits signals that are in compliance with the international Bluetooth standard. Therefore, you should not expect any interference with standard, consumer-grade electronic equipment. Why do I hear an echo while on a call? Adjust the speakers volume, or move away from the speakers and try again. How do I clean of my speakers? Wipe them with a soft dry cloth. English Warranty and parts replacement Samsung warrants this product as free of defects in material, design and workmanship for the period of one year from the original date of purchase.(Depending on your country, the length of warranty may vary.) If during the period of warranty this product proves defective under normal use and service you should return the product to the retailer from whom it was originally purchased or a qualified service centre.
