CHAPTER
Installing the Tag
Note: You receive the Savi SensorTag ST-673 and metal mounting sleeve
fully assembled. You can skip step 1 through step 6 to mount the unit to
the jet engine container or you can follow the instructions in step 1
through step 6 if you disassembled the tag and mounting sleeve.
1. Remove the front of the
mounting sleeve.
2. Slide the tag into the
mounting sleeve until the
holes on the tag align with
the holes on the back of the
mounting sleeve.
3. Replace the front of the
mounting sleeve.
4. Align the hole on the front of the mounting sleeve with the holes on the
tag and back of the mounting sleeve.

5. To prevent the tag from
dislodging from the tag
mounting sleeve as a result
of sudden impact or
extreme shocks, use the
supplied stainless steel
screws and washers through
the sleeve.
Use supplied screws to washers to
secure the tag to the sleeve
6. Ensure that you can see the
sensor filter through the
hole on the back of the
mounting sleeve.
7. Carefully remove the red
protective film covering
from the PST on the back of
the sleeve. Avoid touching
the PST adhesive.

8. Open the jet engine
container and locate the
humidity detection orifice.

mounting sleeve.

10. Remove the small rubber
gasket washer from the
mounting sleeve.
11. To mount the tag, insert the
mounting sleeve and tag in
the humidity detection
orifice.
12. Apply pressure to the tape strips by pushing firmly against the tag. To
assure a good bond, apply as much finger pressure as possible and work
fingers up and down the area over the tape strips.

13. On the inside of the
container, replace the small
rubber gasket washer and
screw the nut on the
mounting sleeve to secure
the tag. Close the jet engine
container.
Mounted tag
14. If the orifice of the
container is too large for the
tag to be mounted securely,
insert a metal shoulder
washer before replacing the
rubber washer and nut.
Ensure that the lip on the
metal shoulder washer is
inserted through the orifice
and is facing the outside of
the container.
The metal shoulder washer
must be ordered separately.
