Secure Wireless Model SW-xxx-V2, VANISHING 2, DOOR/WINDOW DEVICE Description The Secure Wireless model number SW-xxx-V2 Vanishing 2 device is a fully supervised, tamper-protected door/window transmitter that works with the xxx receiver. It is designed to be installed with its integral magnet on most doors or windows and includes a radio transmitter that sends information to the receiver. Opening the door or window will cause the radio transmitter to send an alarm report. Closing the door or window will cause the radio transmitter to send a restore code that indicates that the door or window is closed. If the case of the SW-xxx-V2 is removed for any reason, the radio transmitter will send a tamper alert to the receiver. Should the battery voltage drop below a prescribed level the SW-xxx-V2 will send a low battery report indicating that the devices battery requires changing. (Consult the “installing the battery” section for information about changing the battery.) Locating the Transmitter For Door Installation: Select the location where the SW-xxx-V2 is to be mounted. The transmitter should be located vertically on the door jam or more than six inches of the top of the door. The integral magnet should be mounted on the door, within ½ inch of the transmitter with the notch on the magnet aligned with the middle notch on the transmitter as shown on Figure C. For Window Installation: Select the location where the SW-xxx-V2 is to be located. Mount the transmitter on the window jam near the top of the section of the window to be protected. The integral magnet should be mounted on the window, within ½ inch of the transmitter with the notch on the magnet aligned with the middle notch on the transmitter as shown on Figure C. Mounting the Transmitter 1. Use the base of the sensor as a template and mark the mounting holes with a pencil. 2. Drill the holes for the screws, 5/16” drill size 3. Mount the base to the door jam with the screws provided.
To remove cover, insert Screwdriver here, and gently twist Figure A a. For doors that open on the left hand side, the round battery cavity in the base should be at top when the base is mounted to the door jam. b. For doors that open on the right hand side, the round battery cavity in the base should be at the bottom when the base is mounted to the door jam. 4. Carefully replace the sensor on the base by aligning the tamper switch with the plastic tamper tab (Figure 1) and snap the cover down on the base. The accessory package also includes self adhesive tape. The use of this tape is not allowed in UL listed installations. For non-UL listed systems, once the proper location for the SW-xxx-V2 has been determined it can be permanently mounted using the supplied adhesive. Using Adhesive Tape Make sure that the surface is clean and dry. Apply the supplied tape to the back of the SW-xxx-V2, press and hold firmly in the desired location for approximately 10 to 15 seconds. Note that it may take up to 24 hours for the tape to reach its maximum bonding strength. Note: Attaching the transmitter with Double-stick tape is not allowed in UL installations. Installing or Changing the Battery The SW-xxx-V2 requires one CR2032 lithium battery. To install the battery, remove the cover as indicated in Figure A. Once cover is removed, insert the battery with the positive (+) side up as indicated in Figure B. Enrolling the Transmitter (Per customer requirements) Figure B Circuit Board Tamper Switch To remove battery, insert screwdriver here and twist + Battery (+ side up)
Verifying the programming and RF communications (Per customer requirements) Case Tamper Detection Removing the cover of the SW-xxx-V2 will cause the integral transmitter to send a case tamper report to the receiver. This tamper condition will remain on the system until the case cover is reinstalled and the integral transmitter sends a tamper restore to the receiver. This device provides a reliable communications link and fills an important need in portable wireless signaling. However, there are some limitations which must be observed. 2. For US installations only: the radios are required to comply with FCC rules and regulations including FCC part 15 devices. As such, they have limited transmitter power and therefore limited range. 3. A receiver cannot respond to more than one transmitted signal at a time and may be blocked by radio signals that occur on or near their operating frequencies regardless of code settings. 4. Changes or modifications to the device may void FCC compliance 5. Infrequently used radio links should be tested regularly to protect against undetected interference or fault. 6. RF signals can be affected by metal objects including metal doors or large mirrors. Care should be taken to avoid these objects during installation as they can interfere with proper operation.
