Middle East ViconNet Solution Guide Advanced Simplicity Open-architecture, feature-rich video management software (VMS) solutions that delivers complete access to live and recorded security video across your network. www.vicon-security.com October 2017 ViconNet Video Management System 2017 ViconNet hardware is compatibility with the new Valerus Video Management System. Contact your salesman to discuss options of using Valerus with an existing ViconNet system. LAN Digital Cameras Network Cameras Analogue Analog Cameras Cameras Administrator Workstation/Nucleus ViconNet employs a distributed architecture that is linked together through an administrator workstaion designated as the “Nucleus”. The Nucleus maintains a master copy of all critical settings in the system that enables the entire system to work together virtually as a single entity. Each server and workstation maintains a current copy of the Nucleus configuration settings, so that in the event there is a failure, the system will continue to operate without disruption. The workstation application provides advanced functionality not available through the web or mobile interfaces. Recording Servers ViconNet open-platform servers can be scaled to meet the customer requirements. Multiple servers can be virtually linked to build enterprise scale systems. These feature rich recording devices are designed for long term reliability and ease of maintenance. Fully redundant hardware configurations are availabe to minimize any risk of system failure. H.264 Recording Server Analogue Video Encoder SAN Storage Vicon offers a variety of external storage options for systems with higher recording requirements. It is recommended to connect 4 recording server to a single Vicon SAN device. Recording Servers SAN Storage Video Encoders Encoders convert analogue camera inputs into streamed IP. These encoders support 1080P analogue. Administrator Workstation Web Servers Web Server(s) Mobile Device(s) Web Viewer(s) The Web/Mobile Server is designed to allow authorised security managers and operators to select and control video displayed from a browser-based interface. The server acts as a gateway to the ViconNet network video system without any requirement to install and maintain clientbased software. A dedicated webserver is recommended for systems with more than 10 concurrent remote viewers. Mobile Device Clients (wireless) PC Workstation Video Wall The mobile device solution (Apple iOS and Andriod OS versions) interfaces through the Vicon Web Server. As the system grows, and the need for more devices increases, Servers can be added to the system to handle the load. To save on bandwidth and display resources, the application processes the video image into an optimal size for the device. Video Walls Remote Monitoring Station The Virtual Matrix Display Controller (VMDC) provides a scalable matrix control solution. The VMDC is comprised of both a matrix command/control center software interface and a hardware decoding component that enables the remote network video streams to be displayed on multiple monitors in multiple locations. Integration with Third Party Solutions PWR HDD Virtual Matrix Display Controller VN-DECODER-2 Recording Server Failover ViconNet integrates with many popular third party applications through an SDK or web client application. The platform also includes a powerful XML engine that can incorporate data from any network data source. Third party applications have access to the entire ViconNet system thru a single IP address. ViconNet can detect if any of the active recording servers have failed and will initiate recordings of the affected cameras to a designated spare recording server. This is achieved under 30 seconds (typically less than 10 seconds) and live viewing of all cameras are not affected during this period. The ViconNet system will manage the storage of the entire system and not require the operator of the system to manually look in different storage locations for the video. +44 (0) 1489 566 300 | www.vicon-security.com Recording Hardware The ViconNet recording server enables you to simultaneously capture up to 120 real-time utilizing RAID storage.
