To install the WLAN module driver, follow the steps below: Step 1: Close all other applications before continuing. Step 2: 1. Insert the WLAN module into the USB port of your computer. 2. When the REALTEK USB Wireless LAN Driver and Utility window appears, click Next. Step 3: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the REALTEK USB Wireless LAN driver. Step 4: When the installation is completed, select “Yes, I want to restart my computer now.”, and then click Finish. Page 3 WM294V2-E01 – Quick Installation Guide Setting up the WLAN module driver Step 1: On your desktop, click the REALTEK USB Wireless LA.. icon. Step 2: In the Available Network tab, select the network you want to connect to. Step 3: When the Wireless Network Properties window appears, click OK. Selection of other channels is IMPORTANT NOTE: This module is intended for OEM integrator. The OEM integrator is still responsible for the FCC compliance requirement of the end product, which integrates this module. A minimum distance of 20 cm must be maintained between the user and the antenna of the integrated module. Under such configuration, the FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for a population/uncontrolled environment can be satisfied. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user's authority to operate this equipment. USER’S MANUAL OF THE END PRODUCT: In the user’s manual of the end product, the end user has to be informed to keep at least 20 cm separation with the antenna while this end product is installed and operated. The end user has to be informed that the FCC radio-frequency exposure guidelines for an uncontrolled environment can be satisfied. The end user has to also be informed that any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user's authority to operate this equipment. Page 6 WM294V2-E01 – Quick Installation Guide If the size of the end product is smaller than 8 cm x 10 cm, then additional FCC part 15.19 statement is required to be available in the user’s manual: This device complies with Part 15 of FCC rules. LABEL OF THE END PRODUCT: The final end product must be labeled in a visible area with the following " Contains TX FCC ID: BKMFBWM294V2-E01 ". If the size of the end product is larger than 8 cm x 10 cm, then the following FCC part 15.19 statement has to also be available on the label: “This device complies with Part 15 of FCC rules. However, the OEM integrator is still responsible for testing their end‐product for any additional compliance requirements required with this module installed. End Product Labeling This transmitter module is authorized only for use in device where the antenna may be installed such that 20 cm may be maintained between the antenna and users.
