GENERAL
Congratulations on your purchase of a Shure U1H. The U1H is a high– powered version of the Shure U1 transmitter and is compatible with all Shure U4 receivers. Operation
of the U1H is virtually identical to that of the U1. Only the transmitter/receiver spacing
and battery life differ from the U1. Both are described below. Refer to the UHF System
User Guide for detailed U1H operating instructions.
Transmitter/ReceiverSpacing
Because of its greater rf output power, an U1H can overload a nearby receiver. To prevent overloading the receiver, Shure recommends you maintain a distance of a least 10
meters (30 ft.) between the U1H transmitter and the U4 receiver.
U1H Transmitter Battery Life
Because of its increased rf output power, the U1H requires more battery power than
the U1. Two 1.5V AA alkaline batteries typically provide 4–6 hours of U1H operation,
compared to 6–10 hours of operation they provide the U1 transmitter.
For more information on the U1H, contact the Shure Applications Group at
(847) 866–2525.
