number buttons so you can quickly access them.
To assign a favorite channel to a number button:
1 Tune to the desired channel.
2 Be sure you are in

Automatically tune to a channel (
Direct Tuning
):
Usually,youpressthese l e c t button to tune to a channel. You can change this
so that your Mirge automatically tunes to a channel when it remains highlighted
in the Channel List for longer than 3 seconds.
To activate Direct Tuning:

60-Minute Replay Buffer
The Mirge’s 60-Minute Replay Buffer gives you the opportunity to “hear that
again.” This feature applies to the current channel only. Changing channels or
services,orturningyourMirgeOFF removes all tracks from the Replay Buffer.
Both split screen modes will display previously played tracks. In the Default Display
mode you can turn the knob (radio) orusetheUP/DOWN buttons (remote) to
view the Replay List. You can scroll up and down the list by turning the knob.

Locking and unlocking channels
The Mirge lets you lock channels you do not want others (such as children) to
access without your permission. Locked channels will not appear on the Channel
Listscreen,theCategory Listscreenoronthe PreviousChannel screen.When
anyonetriestoaccessalockedchannelusingDirectChannelEntry(seepage30),
the screen will display a
Channel Locked
popup for 3 seconds and the Mirge will
return to the currently-tuned channel.
To lock a channel:
1 PresstheMenu button.
2 Highlightchannel access,thenpressthese l e c t button.

Turning the FM modulator ON/OFF

If you are using the XM SureConnect or XM FM Direct Adapter to transmit audio
toyourcaraudiosystem,youmustturntheFMModulatorON and set the FM
frequency on both your Mirge and your car radio.
1 PresstheMenu button.

Acquiring signal Make sure the antenna is properly mounted outside
of the vehicle.
Move the antenna away from any obstructed areas.
For example, if you are parked in an underground
garage, you should receive a signal after leaving
thegarage.IfyouareusingtheMirgeathome,the
antenna should have a 360-degree unobstructed
view of the entire sky.
Check Antenna Make sure that the antenna cable is firmly and
securely plugged into the cradle. Make sure the
cable is not bent or broken.
