What is the XM Wireless Home Signal Kit?
• The XM Wireless Home Signal Kit is the industry’s first wireless indoor satellite signal
accessory with a built in antenna and cordless signal locator feature, allowing you
to effortlessly walk around your home or office to find the XM signal and extend it
throughout your home or office.
• The XM Wireless Home Signal Kit works with your existing XM radio to wirelessly
extend the XM signal throughout your home or office, even through walls and floors
so your XM radio(s) can be conveniently located, without the need to run extension
cables between your XM radio(s) and your XM Home Antenna.

Set up the Signal Receiver Antenna
To begin using your XM Wireless Home Signal Kit, first, follow the instructions included with
your XM Home Kit or XM Sound System to set up your XM radio indoors.
Instead of using the XM Home Antenna supplied with your XM Home Kit or XM Sound
System, connect the Signal Receiver Antenna to the “ANT IN” jack on your XM Home Dock
or XM Sound System.

Placement Tips
The Signal Transmitter should be placed in a location receiving a strong XM signal (ie. near a southfacing window). For optimal reception, the Signal Transmitter should be placed as high as possible.
NOTE! The Signal Transmitter will extend the XM signal indoors, through floors, ceilings or walls.
The signal extension distance depends on obstructions between the Signal Transmitter and Signal
Receiver Antenna. Obstructions such as walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, or people, may reduce the
transmission distance and/or result in a weakened XM signal.
Step 1: Insert the Signal Transmitter 9 Volt Battery into the Signal
Transmitter.
NOTE! The battery will last up to 45 minutes. When the battery is running low the bottom signal
strength light will blink red.
10
When the battery is inserted properly, the bottom of the three signal strength indicator
lights will be red to indicate it is receiving power, but no XM signal. If the Signal Transmitter
is receiving an XM signal, the red light will change from red to blue.
Step 2: Find the XM Signal.
The Signal Transmitter will receive the XM signal when pointed in a Southern direction,
preferably near a window. When the XM signal is being received, the lowest signal indicator
light will be blue. More signal indicator lights will come on as the signal strength increases.
The stronger the XM signal strength the better.
Excellent XM Signal
Good XM Signal
Low XM Signal
TIP! As you walk around indoors, give the Signal Transmitter’s indicator lights five seconds to
register before moving to a new location.

Step 3: Alternate Window Mount.
If you don’t have a windowsill or other surface to place the Signal Transmitter on, you can use the
Window Mount to hold the Signal Transmitter. Attach the Window Mount to the glass using the
suction cup feet.

12
Step 4: Remove the 9 Volt Battery and connect the Power Adapter
Remove the 9 Volt Battery from the Signal Transmitter and connect the Power Adapter to
the Signal Transmitter. Place the Signal Transmitter back in the same location with the best
signal and plug the Power Adapter into a wall socket.

Step 5: Return to your XM radio. Check your radio’s Antenna Aiming
option in the menu options to be sure you are receiving the XM
signal.
Check the Antenna Aiming option in the Menu Options of your XM radio to verify that your
radio is receiving a good signal. If the signal is good, you’re all done.
14
If your XM radio is not receiving a signal, but the Signal Transmitter is receiving one,
check that there are not too many obstructions between the Signal Transmitter and the
XM Home Dock or XM Sound System that has the Signal Receiver Antenna connected.
You may need to repeat step 2.
NOTE! Depending on your XM radio model, the antenna aiming screen may look different
than the screen on the previous page.
15

Having Trouble Finding the XM Signal?
Can’t receive the XM signal indoors because you do not have a southern facing window,
windowsill, table or convenient location to plug in and place the Signal Transmitter where it
receives the XM signal?
TIP! Use the XM Home Antenna included in your original XM Home Kit or XM Sound System to
extend the XM signal even further by placing/mounting the XM Home Antenna either on a wall or
outdoors.
16
You can mount the XM Home Antenna on an interior wall at a window so long as the
antenna is facing south through the window.
17
Setup
To optimize signal reception, you may mount the XM Home Antenna outdoors, facing south.
Follow instructions included with your XM Home Kit or XM Sound System to mount the XM
Home Antenna outdoors.
18
Outdoors
You will need to attach four screws
(not included) to the outside of your
home as pictured to the left. This
allows you to securely hang the XM
Home Antenna to the screws.

Accessory: Extra Signal Receiver Antennas
You can use multiple XM radios with your XM Wireless Home Signal Kit by purchasing
additional Signal Receiver Antennas.
One XM Wireless Home Signal Kit Transmitter rebroadcasts the XM radio signal to
multiple Signal Receiver Antennas, connected to various XM Home Kits or XM Sound
Systems, located within range throughout the home. For more details on how to
purchase additional Signal Receiver Antennas (Model # XMHSARX1), visit xmradio.com/
