These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. 1 10 ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED Before each use, an adult should check this product and the LiPo battery to ensure no damage or hazards exist. Quadcopter has rotating blades that move at high speed, posing danger of damage and injury. Pilots are responsible for any actions that result in damage or injury from the improper operation of Quadcopter. Adequate flying space is required. Avoid flying near interior fans and/or vents as they may make flying difficult to control. Keep a safe distance away from streets, public thoroughfares, bodies of water and power lines. Never attempt to retrieve Quadcopter from any location higher than your reach (such as rooftops or trees) or from any location that poses a safety hazard. Never fly Quadcopter at night. Keep Quadcopter in sight at all times during operation. Discontinue operation immediately if Quadcopter flies out of your field of view. Do not fly near spectators or animals. Pets can become excited about R/C vehicles therefore keep away from pets at all times. Keep spinning rotors away from fingers, hair, eyes and other body parts. Always launch from a flat surface. Never launch from your hand. Never leave Quadcopter unattended while it is turned on. Read all enclosed information before operating. CHANGING DAMAGED PROPELLER Unplug LiPo battery on Quadcopter. FRONT Remove the small retaining screw holding the damaged blade in place using the mini screwdriver provided. THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS A LITHIUM-POLYMER BATTERY3.7V 350mAH: LiPo batteries have a severe risk of fire and injury if they are improperly handled or misused. They may explode, overheat or ignite.Read all following precautions and instructions regarding the care and use of LiPo batteries. The enclosed LiPo battery is only to be used with the vehicle and charger included with this product. • Keep away from flammable materials. • Do not expose to direct sunlight. • Do not place in fires or leave in hot places. • Do not drop or make subject to strong impact. • Keep dry and away from water. • Batteries are to be inserted using correct plority. • Remove exhausted batteries as soon as possible and discard properly. • Remove all batteries from the compartment if toy is not used for a long period. • The supply terminals are not to be short circuited. • Never throw batteries in a fire or attempt to open outer casing. LiPo Battery Disposal: LiPo batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly. They should not be disposed of with other household waste. Check your local laws and regulations for correct recycling and/or battery disposal. ALKALINE BATTERY CAUTIONS • Do not use rechargeable batteries. • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. • Different types of batteries or new and old batteries are not to be mixed. • Batteries are to be inserted using correct polarity. • Remove exhausted batteries as soon as possible and discard properly. • Remove all batteries from compartment if toy is not used for a long period. • The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. • Never throw batteries in a fire or attempt to open the outer casing. WARNING:Batteries are harmful if swallowed. Please keep away from children. Battery Disposal: Dispose of batteries according to the local laws and regulations of your region. Some batteries may be recycled, and may be accepted for disposal at your local recycling center. If you are not able to identify the applicable rules in your area, please check the instructions of the battery manufacturer. 1B BACK Make note of the blade color and letter (A,B,C or D) before removing the blade from Quadcopter. (Markings are located on the underside of blades and Quadcopter). Replace the damaged blade with a new blade with matching color and letter. Secure the blade with the retaining screw. WARNING: Do not fly with broken or damaged propeller blades as it may cause damage or lead to injury. MAINTENANCE • Over time propellers may wind up loose hair or carpet fibers from floors, reducing performance. Unplug Quadcopter and remove fibers from motors. (Remove blades if necessary). • Periodically, motor covers may vibrate loose and slide down the rotor arms. Simply unplug Quadcopter and slide the motor covers back over the motors. Be sure to keep the motor wires inside the covers. SIZE: 297 x 210mm (folds to 148.5 x 210mm) PAGE 1 / PAGE 10 3 FLYING TIPS WHEN NOT IN USE: • Always unplug Quadcopter’s LiPo battery when not in use or when Quadcopter is being stored or transported. • Store the LiPo battery and Quadcopter in a dry area at room temperature. • Avoid temperatures less than 40°F/4°C and greater than 120°F/49°C. • Do not leave the LiPo battery in a car or exposed to direct sunlight. If exposed to temperatures greater than 120°F/49°C, the LiPo battery can be damaged or may catch fire. e. • Stand behind Quadcopter when launching, so you are facing the same direction that Quadcopter is facing. This makes flying easier. Green Blades are in the front. • Practice launching, hovering and landing before attempting to learn other moves. • Flying 2 to 3 feet above the ground will reduce ground turbulence and make flying easier. LiP B AT o TERY • When first attempting to fly in different directions, start by tapping the Direction stick until you have a feel for it. Always move the controls slowly until you’ve become well practiced. • Once you’ve mastered flying in directions, practice Spin (Yaw) controls. Spinning and keeping Quadcopter facing the same direction you are facing makes flying easier and more intuitive. • Stay 2 to 3 feet away from walls and ceilings as Quadcopter will be drawn towards them if you fly too close. AUTO SHUTDOWN: • If battery voltage drops to an extremely low level, Quadcopter will automatically shutdown. LiPo battery will need to be recharged to restore flying power. • If anything prevents Quadcopter’s blades from spinning or they become jammed during a crash, Quadcopter will automatically shutdown. LiPo battery will need to be unplugged then reconnected to restore flying power. • If propeller blades come in contact with another object or you crash during flight, throttle down immediately to prevent possible or further damage. • If anything prevents Quadcopter’s blades from spinning or they become jammed during a crash, THROTTLE DOWN IMMEDIATELY. Do not attempt to further flight until obstruction or damage has been addressed. • Should something prevent Quadcopter’s blades from spinning, Quadcopter may AUTO SHUTDOWN. LiPo battery will need to be unplugged then reconnected to restore flying power. TRIM ADJUSTMENTS ATTACHING THE BLADE GUARD FOR INDOOR FLIGHT Place Quadcopter on a level surface. Align the blade guard with Quadcopter so each ring on the blade guard evenly surrounds each propeller. 2B If Quadcopter drifts in any direction while hovering (and you are not pressing the Direction stick), you may need to make trim adjustments. Safely land Quadcopter on a level surface then press the recommended Trim button once as described below. Launch Quadcopter back into the air and attempt another still hover. If Quadcopter continues to drift, repeat the process until a still hover is achieved: • Quadcopter drifts forward – Press the B button • Quadcopter drifts backward – Press the F button • Quadcopter drifts to the left – Press the R button • Quadcopter drifts to the right – Press the L button Insert the blade guard supports into the clips located on the outside of each motor housing. Make sure that each support is fully inserted into each clip. Repeat 3X for each propeller mount. • Quadcopter spins counter-clockwise (when viewed from the top) – Press the button • Quadcopter spins clockwise (when viewed from the top) – Press the button SIZE: 297 x 210mm (folds to 148.5 x 210mm) PAGE 3 / PAGE 8 7 CALIBRATING & LAUNCHING Turn remote OFF and pull the LiPo battery out of Quadcopter Insert the four blade guard main supports into the holes in Quadcopter’s body. The holes can be found on the center of the front, back, left side, and right side of the body. Press each support firmly into each hole until you hear a “CLICK”. PULL AND R EMOVE B ATTEY Replace Quadcopter LiPo battery. Quickly place Quadcopter on FLAT LEVEL SURFACE. Turn remote ON. Slowly push remote control Throttle stick UP until Quadcopter lifts into the air. WARNING: Do not carry Quadcopter by blade guards as this may damage body. FLIGHT SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT CAUTION: Never approach Quadcopter while the propeller blades are still spinning. Throttle down until the blades stop then turn off remote before attempting to handle Quadcopter. 3A • BEGINNING PILOT : Rotate knob counter-clockwise to decrease responsiveness. • EXPERT PILOT (+) : Rotate knob clockwise to increase responsiveness. IF QUADCOPTER DOES NOT RISE TO A STABLE HOVER OR FLIES ERRATICALLY, REPEAT STEPS 1 THROUGH 4. Quadcopter responsiveness may be adjusted to match your flying skills. It is best to start in Beginning Mode until you have mastered flying. 9 CHARGING, INSTALLING & CARING FOR LiPo BATTERY IN QUADCOPTER NOTE: Once a stunt has been initiated, DO NOT adjust Throttle or press any other controls until the stunt has been completed). FLIP FORWARD Tap Direction stick UP while pressing Stunt Button. FLIP BACKWARD Tap Direction stick DOWN while pressing Stunt Button. Pull LiPo battery out of underside of Quadcopter. CHARGING CORD Plug charging cord into a computer or USB power block. Plug LiPo battery into Charging Cord. RED LIGHT = CHARGING GREEN LIGHT = FULLY CHARGED Once charged, disconnect LiPo battery from USB port. Unplug charging cord from USB power source. (Always unplug when not in use). CHARGING CORD LiPo BAT TERY Insert LiPo battery into back of Quadcopter press battery firmly into socket to ensure the plug is fully attached. NOTE: Always unplug LiPo battery when Quadcopter is not in use. ONE-TOUCH STUNTS CHARGING PRECAUTIONS: After use, allow LiPo battery to cool to room temperature before charging. • LiPo BAT TERY • Charge LiPo battery in an isolated area, away from excessive heat or moisture. Never leave LiPo battery unattended while charging. If LiPo battery swells, unplug it immediately and permanently discontinue use. • WARNING FLIP LEFT Tap Direction stick LEFT while pressing Stunt Button. FLIP RIGHT Tap Direction stick RIGHT while pressing Stunt Button. IF AT ANY TIME DURING CHARGING OR USE THE BATTERY BEGINS TO SWELL OR BECOMES DAMAGED IN ANY WAY, DISCONTINUE CHARGING OR USE OF THE BATTERY IMMEDIATELY. Continuing to charge or discharge a battery that has begun to balloon or swell can result in a fire. Quickly and safely disconnect the battery and place it in an open, safe area away from flammable materials. Observe the battery for at least 30 minutes to be certain no additional swelling or rupture occurs. Completely discharge the battery by submerging it in a saltwater solution (1/2 cup salt per gallon of water) for 24 hours. Check your local laws and regulations for correct recycling and/or battery disposal. INSTALLING REMOTE BATTERIES CAUTION Quadcopter should be flying at least 9 feet in the air with a minimum clearance of 9 feet in all directions before attempting stunt functions. STUNT FUNCTIONS SHOULD BE PERFORMED OUTSIDE ONLY. 2A Loosen screws in remote battery compartment door and insert batteries as shown. Replace doors and tighten screws. THROTTLE / SPIN(YAW) STICK Press UP to lift Press UP to fly forward • Push the Throttle stick FORWARD to make the propeller blades spin and lift Quadcopter into the air. The farther you push, the faster you lift. Applying just the right amount of THROTTLE makes Quadcopter hover in place. • Push the Throttle stick to the LEFT or RIGHT to spin (yaw) clockwise or counterclockwise. The farther you push, the faster Quadcopter spins. Power On/Off Switch Press DOWN to descend Power Indicator LED Stunt Button Press DOWN to fly backward Forward/Backward Trim NT STU Press LEFT to spin left Press RIGHT to spin right THROTTLE / SPIN(YAW) STICK Spin (Yaw) Trim DIRECTION STICK Flight Sensitivity Dial Left/Right Trim DIRECTION STICK • Push the Direction stick FORWARD to fly forward.
