The counter supports wireless 802.11b/g/n, and one 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port. It is able to connect to 2.4GHz networks. MI NI MUM S YS TEM RE Q UI RE ME N TS Your computer must meet the following minimum requirements : Any operating system can be used Web Browser 233MHz processor (or higher) Ethernet network adapter Wireless network adapter You can use any smartphone instead of using a computer. ETHERNET PORT Plug to connect ethernet devices. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 USER MANUAL UN DERSTAND YOUR COU NT ER Counter is broadcasting a wifi network « SmiirlSetup ». It is ready to be connected to internet. User is connected on the web interface. Counter is successfully associated to the wifi network configured. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 USER MANUAL Counter is successfully connected to internet. (Can access google.com server) Counter is connected to internet and is waiting to be configured on http://my.smiirl.com. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 USER MANUAL C R E ATE ON L IN E A CCO UN T Before connecting your Counter to internet, you have to create an account on http:// my.smiirl.com and register your Counter on this platform. The design & process of the website for the configuration may change following our website release. Process will not change. A DD CO UNTE R To link the Counter to your user account, you have to go on my.smiirl.com and log-in. In the section “Your Counter(s)”, click on: This is what you should see then: Choose an appropriate name for your Counter (like “Showroom”) and enter the “Counter ID” that can be found at the back of the object. You can now choose the Facebook page that you want to link with this Counter by inserting the full url of this page, example: http://www.facebook.com/smiirl 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 USER MANUAL Example: If you want to link your Counter to the Facebook page of Smiirl, simply find the page on Facebook When you are on this page, copy the URL of the page and paste it at the right place Once created, here is what you should see on the home page of my.smiirl.com: Where “A_ENSCI” will be the name that you gave to the Counter and the number of fans displayed is corresponding to the Facebook page you linked-it with. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 10 USER MANUAL C O NNE C TIN G THE CO UN TE R Now that your profile is set-up on http://my.smiirl.com, you’ll have to connect the Counter to internet. To do that, there are two ways to connect it: 1. through wifi (recommended if you wan’t to hang your Counter on a wall) 2. through ethernet. ET H ERN ET Required step : - Create an online account If you want to connect your Counter through Ethernet, just plug a RJ45 cable from your internet router to the back of the Counter. If your network is not protected with special firewall, your Counter will be able to access internet and display the number that you have configured while « online account » WI FI To connect-it via Wifi: you have to connect your computer (or smartphone) to the local system of your Counter through the wifi it broadcasts in order to give him the information needed to connect itself to your own wifi network. 1) Plug the Counter Every time you plug-in the Counter, there is a calibration process where every digits will move one after each other. Once the Counter is calibrated it will broadcast a “SmiirlSetup” wifi network. Warning : The network « SmiirlSetup » is broadcasted only when the Counter has no access to internet. When the « SmiirlSetup » is broadcasted, the Counter displays : 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 11 USER MANUAL 2) Connect your computer to the “SmiirlSetup” wifi network Connect to the « SmiirlSetup » wifi on your device. 12/01/2015 Windows Mac OSX Android iDevices (iPhone, iPad) Smiirl " /"22 12 USER MANUAL 3) Access to the inside of the Counter Right now your computer won’t have access to internet but is connected on the network broadcasted by the Counter. Use your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer...etc) and go on the address: http://192.168.1.1 When the page is loaded, the Counter displays: 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 13 USER MANUAL 4) Connect the Counter to your wifi network Counter is scanning the wifi networks available around. It will switch to next step automatically (should not take more than 1 minute). You now have to choose to which wifi network the Counter should be connected. This list is updated each 7 seconds. To select the wifi that you want to connect on, just click on the following wifi network. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 14 USER MANUAL And if this wifi is protected, please enter the WEP/WPA Key. Next step is only informative. It explain that the object will stop to broadcast « SmiirlSetup » wifi network and try to connect to the wifi that you configured. If it failed, it will broadcast again a « SmiirlSetup » network and you will be able to restart this process. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 15 USER MANUAL Once validated the Counter will apply the configuration and display this confirmation message. The object will display 3 stripped flaps if the password is correct. The object will display 4 stripped flaps if it is able to connect to internet. If your account is correctly configured on http://my.smiirl.com, the object will display the number. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 16 USER MANUAL 5) Understanding Counter errors If you did not have the number at the end of the process, the Counter can display 2 different screen. Counter is connected to internet, but you need to go to http://my.smiirl.com to finish the configuration. Something went wrong while trying to setup the object. You can restart the process and the first page will display you a detailed error. Example of detailed error when you connect on « SmiirlSetup » and you go to http://192.168.1.1 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 17 USER MANUAL H E L P & AD VA N C ED CO NFI G UR ATI ON H EL P You can access a quick help, and advanced configuration when you click on the button « ? » on right bottom of the page. You can find your Counter ID on this page. Or go to advanced configuration. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 18 USER MANUAL A DVANC ED CONFIGURATION 1) Wifi Settings Use this form to connect your Counter to any Wifi Network. It is useful for any hidden network. 2) Manual IP If the Counter need a Manual IP, you can apply the configuration in the section « Manual IP ». You need to specify the IP address, the netmask of the network and the gateway. 3) Reset You can recover your Counter with the factory’s settings by click on the reset button on the web interface. 12/01/2015 Smiirl " /"22 19 USER MANUAL A P PE NDIX F CC S TATE MENT This device complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment and it also complies with Part 15 of the FCC RF Rules.
