Ford 4F27E Upper Valve Body (Front Side) Tool Kit Part No. F-46892-TL3 Valve Converter Relief Location • Reamer • Reamer Jig • Guide Pin NOTE: Sonnax “F-Tool” kits designed to service a specific bore require the VB-FIX, a self-aligning valve body reaming fixture. More information and instructions can be found online at www.sonnax.com. Tool Kit 1. Disassembly a. Remove OE retainer and spring and set aside for reuse. b. Remove and discard OE valve. Figure 2 20 15 10 25 5 0 30 VACUUM TEST 18"-Hg 4F27E Lower Valve Body (Converter Relief Location) Figure 3 20 15 10 25 5 0 30 VACUUM TEST 18"-Hg 4F27E Upper Valve Body (Solenoid Pressure Regulator Location) CAUTION: If OE converter relief valve from lower valve body has three spools, STOP. This is the incorrect valve from the wrong side of the lower valve body (Figure 1). Ensure valve removed from lower valve body comes from back side of casting and has two spools (main picture). CAUTION 2. Bore Reaming Ream solenoid pressure regulator bore or converter relief bore (for reaming instructions/reamer care, please visit www.sonnax.com). Sonnax reaming tool kit F-46892-TL3 and VB-FIX are required for this operation. 3. Installation & Assembly a. Install Sonnax valve. b. Reinstall OE spring and retainer. Ford 4F27E Lower Valve Body (Front Side) Figure 1 CAUTION:This is the incorrect side of the lower valve body. DO NOT ream for the three-spool valve that comes out of this CAUTION side of the lower valve body. 4.
