1. Disassembly
a. Remove OE retainer and spring and set aside for reuse.
b. Remove and discard OE valve.
CAUTION: If OE converter relief valve from lower valve body has three spools, STOP. This is the
incorrect valve from the wrong side of the lower valve body (Figure 1). Ensure valve removed
from lower valve body comes from back side of casting and has two spools (main picture).
2. Bore Reaming
Ream solenoid pressure regulator
bore or converter relief bore (for
reaming instructions/reamer care,
please visit www.sonnax.com).
Sonnax reaming tool kit
F-46892-TL3 and VB-FIX are
required for this operation.
3. Installation & Assembly
a. Install Sonnax valve.
b. Reinstall OE spring and retainer.
4. Final Testing
Vacuum testing at the port(s) indicated holds the recommended minimum 18 in-Hg
(Figures 2 & 3).
