1514Low battery warningAn acoustic signal gives you an early warning that thebattery is approaching exhaustion. You have usually at least 30 minutes to replace the battery. With veryhigh quality batteries, this reserve may be higher. Thehearing system will repeat the low battery warning approximately every 30 minutes.Handle the battery compartment with care and do not use excessive force. If there is any resistance when shutting thecompartment, ensure that the battery is inserted correctly. If the battery is installed backwards, the instrument will not work. Please open the batterycompartment and insert the battery correctly. For the Junior models, the battery latch must be placed back over the battery and locked, before closing the battery compartment. The battery compartment must be completely closed to ensure that the hearing instrument iswater resistant. When your hearing system is not in use, leave the battery compartment open to allow any moisture to evaporate. We recommend to only use batteries which yourhearing care professional approves and sells.PreparationP58243_Pho_GB_Naida.qxp 30.11.2007 15:13 Uhr Seite 14

A double beep indicates that you have reached the limit of your volume control range.• The volume control switch can be replaced with a locked version, specially designed for smallchildren. Your hearing care professional can easily do this adaptation. The volume control canthen only be operated via myPilot (see page 33), or by hand using a pin-shaped item, like a pen. To be pressed on the upper resp. lower part of thevolume control as on page 26. 3130OperationEasyPhoneThe EasyPhone function enables your Naída hearing system to automatically select your telephone programwhen the telephone handset is held close to your ear.An acoustic signal confirms the switching. It automatically returns to the previous hearing programwhen the telephone handset is removed from your ear. Some telephones produce a magnetic field strong enoughto activate your EasyPhone function. Most types of telephones require an additional magnet fixed on thereceiver to activate this function.Fixing the EasyPhone magnetClean the telephone handset thoroughly.Hold the telephone handset nearlyvertically, similarly to making a telephone call. Hold the magnetnear to the “listening end” of yourtelephone handset and release it.The magnet will automatically flipto the correct side.If you hold the telephone receiver in your right handwhen making telephone calls, position the magnet in the upper right half of the receiver. If you hold the telephone receiver in your left handwhen making telephone calls, position the magnet in the upper left half of the receiver.Use the double-sided adhesivetape to stick the magnet to the location described above. Do not cover the sound openings of your handset.P58243_Pho_GB_Naida.qxp 30.11.2007 15:13 Uhr Seite 30
3332Use of EasyPhoneUse the telephone in a normal manner. An acoustic signal indicates the activation of the EasyPhone program. At the beginning, you may need to move thehandset slightly to find the optimum position for a reliable switching and comfortable hearing. If necessary, move the magnet to another position on the handset to increase your comfort of use.Keep magnets out of reach of children and pets.If a magnet is swallowed, please seek the adviceof a medical practitioner. The magnet used to strengthen the magneticfield of your phone may affect some medicaldevices or electronic systems.Always keep the magnet (or the telephone equipped with the magnet) at least 30 cm (12”)away from pacemakers, credit cards, floppy disksor other magnetically sensitive devices.Too high distortion during dialing or phoningmay mean that the phone receiver is stressed bythe magnet. To avoid any damage, please move the magnet to another place on the telephone receiver.OperationThe myPilot command center is an optional accessoryfor all Naída systems. It allows a convenient, userfriendly and discrete control of all the functions of yourhearing system and offers additional benefits.• Volume control • Program selection• Automatic mode selection• Clock and Alarm• Battery statusFor detailed information on the use of your myPilot, please refer to its user guide or ask your hearing careprofessional.myPilot (optional)P58243_Pho_GB_Naida.qxp 30.11.2007 15:13 Uhr Seite 32
