Getting Started56Example of “PlusCode”Example of “Channel Line-up Chart”Setting up the VCR Plus+ systemHow the VCR Plus+ system worksWhenever you want to record a TVprogram, all you need to do is look upthe “PlusCode” number, a numberassigned to each program published inthe TV section of most newspapers, cable TV listings, and even TV GUIDEmagazine. Then, just enter the PlusCodenumber of the program you want andthe VCR is automatically programmedto record that show. It’s that simple. How to set up your VCRSetting up your VCR involvescoordinating the TV channel number(the number you turn to on your TV orVCR to watch a program) with the guidechannel (the number that’s assigned tothat channel in your program guide). To find the guide channel numbers, lookat the “Channel Line-up Chart” in theprogram guide for your area thatfeatures VCR PlusCodes. It usuallylooks like the example to the right. To set the guide channels, use theChannel Line-up Chart to check that theguide channel numbers match the TVchannel your VCR receives. Forexample, if HBO is listed in the ChannelLine-up Chart on channel 33, and yourVCR receives HBO on channel 5, youneed to coordinate these numbers usingthe following procedure.
