Micro USB upgrade method
Plug the USB data cable, the gamepad four LEDs will be on & off every 0.25s in turn, indicating upgrading,
the four LEDs will be off after upgrade completed.
When connect by Bluetooth, the Bluetooth device name is “SteelSeries Android XL”; When connect by USB
cable, the display string is “SteelSeries Android XL Bootloader”
Mouse Function
Default mode: Gamepad mode
Press and hold L3&R3 for 3 seconds simultaneously, the LEDs will flash in turn 1>>2>>3>>4, indicating the
gamepad enters mouse mode
z In mouse mode, L1 equals mouse left button, R1 equals mouse right button. Right 3D equals mouse move
z Press and hold L3&R3 for 3s simultaneously again, the gamepad goes back to gamepad mode, and the LEDs
will be on for 0.04s and off for 2s.
Note: Under mouse mode, when power off and power on the gamepad again, it will be in gamepad mode.
Sleep Mode
The gamepad will enter sleep mode in one of the following conditions:
1) without any axis or button movement in 15 minutes
2) not connected in 15 minutes
3) not paired with the host device in 15 minutes
Wake up method
1)
Either D‐PAD (up, down, left, right), A, B, X, Y, L1, R1, L3, R3, BACK, START, HOME, or BAT button can
wake up the gamepad, the LED will display the battery capacity for 3s first, and return to status before
sleeping.
Low battery alarm function & battery capacity indicator
Press”BAT” button, the LEDs will be in one of the following status:
indicates 0%‐10% battery, the 1st LED will be on & off every 0.5s in turn
indicates 10%‐ 30% battery, the 1st & 2nd LEDs will be solid
indicates 30%‐95% battery, the 1st, 2nd & 3rd LEDs will be solid
indicates 95%‐100% battery, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th LEDs will be solid
When not in low battery alarm status, the battery indicating time will be 3s, and return to normal
connection status.
Note: When the battery is below 0%‐10%, the gamepad 1st LED will flash on & off every 0.25s for 10 times;
When the battery is low in any status, the gamepad will alarm every 20s; When battery below 1.8V, the gamepad
will be powered off automatically.
Force Connection Method
If the gamepad is not connected with the device before, it’ll enter force connection mode automatically
when power on, and the four LEDs will be on &off every 0.5s in turn
If the gamepad has been connected before, it’ll only search for and connect with the previous connected
devices when power on again, and the four LEDs will be on &off every 0.5s in turn
When press and hold Force Connection button less than 5s, firstly, the 1st & 2nd LEDs will be on for 1s;
Secondly, the 3rd & 4th LEDs will be on for another 1s; Thirdly, the gamepad will search for new devices, and
the four LEDs will be on & off every 0.5s in turn. It’ll connect with the previous connected device after 30s,
and the four LEDs will be on & off every 0.5s in turn.
When press and hold Force Connection button above 5s; Firstly, the 1st & 3rd LEDs will be on for 1s; Secondly,
the 2nd &4th LEDs will be on for another 1s; Thirdly, the gamepad will remove the pairing records, and search
for new devices, and finally the four LEDs will be on & off every 0.5s in turn.
NOTE: When press Force Connection button, the LED will not on)
Click “SteelSeries Android XL” in “Devices—Bluetooth settings—Bluetooth devices” to connect with the
device
The four LEDs will be on for 0.04s, and off for 2s to indicate connection succeed
Note: The gamepad sequence will be assigned by the game software
Reconnection
If the gamepad is connected with the device before, they’ll be reconnected automatically several seconds
when power on again (it’ll display the battery capacity for 3s first)
