14 LIGHTNING - For added protection for this TV receiver du ring a

lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long

periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the

antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the TV due

to lightning and power-line surges.

in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light of

When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should

be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as

[S-video Cable Connection]

S-video connection offers good picture quality for video devices connected to the unit.

Use an S-video cable to connect the unit to external video devices equipped with S-video output jack.

If you connect to the unit's VIDEO 1 S-video input jack, connect RCA audio cables to the audio L/R jacks of VIDEO 1.

Video connection offers standard picture quality for video devices connected to the unit.

If you connect to the unit's VIDEO I video input jack, connect RCA audio cables to the audio L/R jacks of VIDEO I.

The captioning or text is often a secondary language.

CC2, CC4, Text2 and Text4;

are rarely available and broadcasters use them only

•There are 3 display modes according to programs:

Paint-on mode:

Displays input characters on the TV screen

immediately.

Pop-on mode:

Once characters are stored in memory, they are

displayed all at once.

Roll-up mode:

Troubieshooting Guide

If the unit does not perform properly when operated as instructed in this owner's manual, check the following chart once

before calling for service,

No power Be sure the power cord is plugged in,

If a power failure occurs, unplug the power cord for 30 minutes to allow the unit to

reset itself.

No picture or sound . Check if the power is on,

• Check the outlet connection,
