PresstheWPSbuttonstarttheWPSpairing,theLEDwillbeginstoblinkingfor3
blinks/second,oncetheconnectionissuccessfullyestablishedbetweentheAPand
theadapter,theLEDwillremaininsolidfor5secondstotelltheusersthatthe
connectionhasbeenestablished.After5second,theLEDwilllightofftoindicate
userthattheAccessPointorWirelessRouterisreadyforanewWPSconnection
andtheadapterisassociatedwiththeAccessPointorWirelessRouter.

WIRELESSPERFORMANCECONSIDERATIONS
Thereareanumberoffactorsthatcanimpacttherangeofwirelessdevices.
1. Adjustyourwirelessdevicessothatthesignalistravelinginastraightpath,
ratherthanatanangle.Themorematerialthesignalhastopassthroughthe
moresignalyouwilllose.
2. Keepthenumberofobstructionstoaminimum.Eachobstructioncanreduce
therangeofawirelessdevice.Positionthewirelessdevicesinamannerthat
willminimizetheamountofobstructionsbetweenthem.
3. Buildingmaterialscanhavealargeimpactonyourwirelesssignal.Inanindoor
environment,trytopositionthewirelessdevicessothatthesignalpasses
throughlessdensematerialsuchasdrywall.Densematerialslikemetal,solid
wood,glassorevenfurnituremayblockordegradethesignal.
4. Antennaorientationcanalsohavealargeimpactonyourwirelesssignal.Use
thewirelessadapter’ssitesurveytooltodeterminethebestantenna
orientationforyourwirelessdevices.
5. InterferencefromdevicesthatproduceRF(radiofrequency)noisecanalso
impactyoursignal.Positionyourwirelessdevicesawayfromanythingthat
generatesRFnoise,suchasmicrowaves,radiosandbabymonitors.
6. Anydeviceoperatingonthe2.4GHzfrequencywillcauseinterference.Devices
suchas2.4GHzcordlessphonesorotherwirelessremotesoperatingonthe
2.4GHzfrequencycanpotentiallydropthewirelesssignal.Althoughthephone
maynotbeinuse,thebasecanstilltransmitwirelesssignal.Movethephone’s
basestationasfarawayaspossiblefromyourwirelessdevices.
Ifyouarestillexperiencinglowornosignalconsiderrepositioningthewireless
devicesorinstallingadditionalaccesspoints.Theuseofhighergainantennasmay
alsoprovidethenecessarycoveragedependingontheenvironment.

ConfigurationUtility.Double‐clicktheutilityiconthatappearsinthetaskbar.
TheWirelessAdapterConfigurationUtilityisdividedintosixsections:LinkInfo,
Configuration,SiteSurvey,Profile,WPSandAbout.
LinkInformation
ThisisthedefaultscreenafterlaunchingtheUtilityprogram.
Status:ShowstheassociatedBSSID(MACaddress),whichcanbeusedtoidentify
thewirelessaccesspointorrouterthatyouareconnectingto.
SSID:ShowsthecurrentSSID,whichmustbethesameasyourwirelessaccess
pointorrouterinordertoestablishtheconnectioncorrectly.
WirelessMode:Showsthecurrentwirelessmodeused.
Encryption:Showsthecurrentencryptionmodeused.

TxRate:Showsthecurrentdatarateusedfortransmitting.
Channel:Showsthecurrentchannelforcommunication.
SignalStrength:Showsthewirelesssignalstrengthoftheconnectionbetweenthe

Configuration
ThisscreeniswhereyousetthebasicwirelesssettingsfortheMicroWirelessN
USBAdapter.
ProfileName:YoucanmodifytheProfileNametoanythingyouwouldlike,for
exampleHome,Office,PlayRoomandetc.
SSID:ServiceSetIdentifier,whichisauniquenamesharedamongallwireless
clientsinawirelessnetwork.TheSSIDmustmatchthewirelessaccesspointor
router’sSSIDthatyouareconnectingto.

WirelessMode:Therearetwomodesavailableforselection
●Infrastructure–toestablishwirelesscommunicationwiththeLANandother
wirelessclientsthroughtheuseofAccessPointsorWirelessRouter.Thisis
mostcommontypeofconnection.

Selectanyoneofthewirelessnetworksbydouble‐clickingonitorselecttheSSID
thenclickthe“Connect”button.
Clickthe“Refresh”buttontoscanforavailablenetworks.

Profile
Profile–Theusercancreateandmanagethecreatedprofilesforhome,workor
publicareas.Bydouble‐clickingononeofthecreatedprofile,thesettingwill
adjusttothespecificsettingsuchasSSID,channel,andencryptionassavedby
thatparticularprofile.
Add:Addsaprofile.Thefollowingscreenwillappear.Theusercanenterthe
necessaryinformationrequiredforaccessingtheparticularAccessPointor
WirelessRouter.
Remove:Deletestheselectedprofile
Edit:Editanexistprofile.Thescreenwillbacktoprofile.EdittheSSIDandselect
theWirelessMode,AuthenticationandEncryptionthenclickApplytosavethe
profile.WhentheProfilenamewaschanged,anewprofilewillbeaddedinthelist.

Wi‐FiProtectedSetup(WPS)isanoptionalcertificationprogramfromtheWi‐Fi
Alliancethatisdesignedtoeasethetaskofsettingupandconfiguringsecurityon
awirelessnetwork.TherearetwomethodsusedintheWPSasbelowinstruction.
Pushthebuttononmyaccesspoint
UsingtheWPSconfigurationwiththe“Pushthebuttononmyaccesspoint”
method,theconfigurationstepsasbelow:
1) Selectedthe“Pushthebuttononmyaccesspoint”.
2) PushtheWPSconfigurationbuttononyourwirelessaccesspointorrouter.
3) CliektheNextbuttonstarttheWPSconfiguration.

clicktheNextbuttonstarttheWPSconfiguration.Ifthe“Automaticallyselect
