Mira Stream Media Server
1. Make sure Mira and the Stream Media Server are installed on both machines (For
example, PC1 and PC1)
2. On PC1, run Mira software first, then run the Stream Media Server
3. Find the Mira icon from toolbar, right click and select Export Security Certificate, save the xml
file to a location

4. Click on the Stream Media Server from the tool bar and click on Configuration

5. Click on Import and select the Security Certificate you just exported from Mira and click OK

6. Go to Mira software and make sure the cameras are added to the Device section

7. Go to Stream Media Server and click on Add, give a name for the stream server and use this PC’s
IP address for the Address and click Add. Remember the port number if changed.

8. Highlight the server and select Settings

9. Select the needed cameras and click OK

10. Then go to Group section, go to camera’s Encoding Channels then click on Edit. Make sure
Stream Server is checked and selected properly.

11. Go to Main section and make sure the camera display correctly

12. Now copy the Security Certificate and take it to PC2 (PC2 only needs Mira software, no Stream
Media Server needed)
13. Open Mira, go to System Configuration and Security Authentication, click on Import to import
the certificate then press Save.

14. Add the camera to the Mira software

15. Make sure the camera appears under Group and it’s configured to stream via Stream Media
Server

16. Go to Main View to make sure the camera functions correctly

17. Setup is completed.

Q&A
1. Why do I have to add the cameras on both sides?
‐ For security reason, the cameras have to be added on all locations that will be connected to
the Stream Media Server.
2. Why do I use Stream Media Server?
‐ To reduce network bandwidth from the cameras.
