Just use the sam me email ad ddress and passsword to siggn in here. By B signing in n, all of yourr email, conttacts, calend dar events, and otheer data assocciated with that accoun nt will be syn nced to yourr phone. If yoou don't havve a Google Account, yoou can creatte one durin ng the setup process. Yo ou can alsoo skip this step and creaate one later.. If you're on n a left or right Home sccreen, it takees you to thee central Hoome screen. 3- Reccent apps: Opens a list of o thumbnaiil images of apps you’vee used recen ntly. To open n an app, toouch it. To remove a thu umbnail from m the list, sw wipe it left or o right. To add a an app oor widget to o a Home scrreen: Go to the Home screen where you want to placce the app or o widget. 1- Tou uch the All Apps icon 2- Swip pe right, if necessary, too find the ap pp or widgett you want. 3- Tou uch and hold d the app orr widget untiil the Home screen appeears, slide itt into placce, and lift your finger. To move an app p or widget icon to a diffferent locattion on a Hoome screen: 1- Tou uch and hold d the icon. 2- Slid de your fingeer to the new w position. Removee an app or widget To remove an app a or widgeet from a Hoome screen, follow thesee steps: 1- Tou uch and hold d the app orr widget. 2- Draag it up to th he Remove iccon at the top of the screen. Create a folder for apps To create a fold der, follow th hese steps: 1- Tou uch and hold d the app. 2- Slid de the app iccon quickly over the oth her. 3- To rename a folder, touch its name. Make & receivve phon ne callss Make, receive, and block phon ne calls You , People app u can place ccalls from th he Phone ap pp , Contaacts app , or oth her apps or widgets that display con ntact information. Wherrever you seee a phone number, you can usuaally touch itt to dial. Make a phone call To open the Phone app, tou uch the Phone icon on your mobile device. Wherever you see s a phone number on your screeen, you can n usually tou uch it to dial. You can u use the Phon ne app to make a phon ne call in thee following ways: 1- Diallpad: Touch h the Dialpad wheneever you waant to use thee keypad to man nually type in i a phone number. Typ pe the numb ber, then tou uch the Phon ne icon beloow the keypaad to make a call. If you u type a wroong numberr, touch back kspace t erase digiits one by on to ne. To end a call in proggress, touch end call at the bottom of thee screen. uch the "Speeed dial" tab b for one-toouch dialing for your fav vorites 2- Speed dial: Tou and d numbers yoou call frequ uently. Just touch the contact in thee list and th he call will start. 3- Reccents: Touch h the "Recen nts" tab to view your caall log and seelect a conta act or num mber that yoou recently called. 4- Con ntacts: Toucch the "Conttacts" tab too select from m the list of aall your con ntacts. Oncce you selectt a contact, touch their phone numb ber to place a call. calls Managee incoming phone Wheen you receiive a phone call, you'll get g a notification that you have an iincoming ca all. If the caller is an eexisting con ntact in yourr Contacts app a or Peoplle app, you m may see add ditional infoormation aboout the calleer. You can choose to an nswer or dissmiss the ph hone call and d send a textt message to the caller. You u can managge an incomiing call in th he followingg way: 1- You u can choosee to answer or o dismiss th he call from m within the notification n simply by touching An nswer or Dissmiss. 2- For more options, touch th he notificatioon to open itt, then touch h the white phone icon n, and slide over one of the t followin ng icons: o Answer calll: Touch thee green phon ne icon to an nswer the caall and startt talking to the callerr. uch the red phone icon to t direct the caller to leaave a o Send to voiccemail: Tou voicemail message. Send a text message to the caller: Touch the message icon to open n a list of quick shoort text resp ponses or thee option to write your oown messagee and send it to th he caller imm mediately. If yoou answer, the t first calll will be put on hold. If yyou respond d with a messsage or send to voiccemail, you return to the first call. Manage your contact ts and call c logg Managee your conta acts vorite contaccts, contacts you call oftten, and con ntacts you staar will show w on the screeen Fav wheen you open the Phone app. Open your Phone app a by toucching on your mobille device. 11 To go g to a contaact's card, simply touch h their namee from your list of contaacts. You can man nage your coontacts in th he following ways: 1- Searrch: If you'rre looking foor a specificc contact, yoou can search h your contacts or for n nearby placces in the Seaarch bar at the top of th he screen. 2- Add d a contact: To add a coontact touch h the menu iccon , then n touch New conttact and add d the contacct's informattion. If you're signed in n to a Googlee Acccount, the neew contact will w sync with your accoount. 3- Favvorite: To make a contacct a favoritee, touch the star icon on a conta act's card d and it will show up in the speed d dial tab when n you open tthe Phone app. 4- Orgganize: You can organizze the contaccts on your screen in yoour speed dial list by touching and d holding th hem to movee them aroun nd. 5- Editt: To edit a contact, tou uch the edit icon on a contact's ccard. 6- Shaare: To sharee a contact or o place it on a Home sccreen for easier access, select it from m the contaccts list, then touch the m menu icon . 7- Rem move: Touch h and drag contacts to the t top of the screen to rremove them m from the grid. Use the call log You u can see a liist of all the calls you’vee placed, recceived, or missed in the Recents tab b in the Phoone app. It's an easy wayy to redial a number, reeturn a call, or add a nu umber to your conttacts. To use u the call log, follow these steps: 1- Opeen the Phonee app on n your devicce. 2- Tou uch the "Reccents" tab. You'll see a list of your most recentt incoming and outggoing calls. 3- Tou uch View fulll call historyy to see morre calls. Touch the t the menu u icon , th hen Edit num mber to mak ke changes to t the call bacck number. 12 Seend & rreceivee text messag es messaging Open m From m a Home or o All Apps screen, toucch the Messaaging icon Thee Messaging screen open ns, where yoou can creatte a new messsage or opeen an ongoin ng convversation. To read the messages in an n existing con nversation, touch the coonversation.. A list of itss messsages appeaars. Touch & hold a message to tak ke any of theese actions: 12345 Cop py text. Copyy the messagge text. Forw ward. Forw ward the messsage to one of your con ntacts or anoother recipieent. Locck. Prevent the t message from beingg deleted if you y reach yoour storage limits. View w details. Viiew informa ation about the t messagee and the sen nder. Deleete. Delete th he message from the coonversation. Delete a conversatioon 1- Whiile viewing the t list of coonversationss, touch & hold a converrsation to seelect it. 2- Tou uch the Trassh icon to o delete the conversation n. all con nversations,, go to the main Messagging screen and a touch M Menu > Delete all To delete threeads. Messaging Search M for a specific word or contacct do the folllowing: To search 1- Tou uch the Searrch icon The Seaarch Messagging field ap ppears at thee top of the screen. 2- Use the onscreeen keyboard d to type you ur search terrms. m Text message warnin ngs Premium ps may someetimes send text messagges using preemium serviices that cosst you money y. To App alerrt you to succh charges, Android dettects any attempt by an app to send d a message on your behalf. If it look ks like the message mayy cause you additional charges, you u'll see a diallog indiicating the n name of the app, the add dress to whiich the text message is b being sent, and a a warrning. When n this happen ns, you can choose to caancel the meessage or sen nd it anyway y. From m a Home or o All Apps screen, go too Messagingg > Menu > Settings. 13 Storagee settings 1- Deleete old messsages. Check k to delete ollder messagges in a convversation wh hen limiits are reach hed. Uncheck to keep alll messages. 2- Texxt message liimit. Touch to set the nu umber of texxt messages to save per convversation. When the lim mit is reacheed, older text messages aare deleted if i Delete old messages is checked. 3- Mulltimedia meessage limit. Touch to seet the numbeer of multim media messa ages to savee per converrsation. Wheen the limit is reached, older multim media messa ages are deleeted if Deletee old messagges is checkeed. Text meessage (SMS S) settings 1- Deliivery reportts. Check to receive a deelivery report for each ttext messagee you send d. 2- Man nage SIM caard messagees. Manage text messagees stored on n your SIM card. Multimedia messag ge (MMS) seettings 1- Deliivery reportts. Check to receive a deelivery report for each m multimedia messsage you sen nd. 2- Reaad reports. Request to reeceive notifiications thatt your messaage was read d by the reciipient. 3- Autto-retrieve. Check to au utomatically retrieve mu ultimedia meessages thatt you receeive. 4- Roaaming auto-rretrieve. Ch heck to autom matically reetrieve multiimedia messsages whille roaming. Most things you purchase on Google Play are available from your computer as well as from any of your Android mobile devices. (Android apps are one exception – they run only on Android devices.) Data usage is th You u can check yyour data usage in the Settings app p on your deevice. You caan see how you y use dataa and changge the settinggs to make sure you’re not n using daata unnecesssarily. Imp portant: Thee data usagee you see in your device’’s Settings app a is measu ured by yourr device - your carrier ccould count data usage differently. If you go ovver your plaan’s data usa age limit, your carrier cou uld charge you y fees. Ch heck your pllan to see yoour data limiits. You u can turn m mobile data on o or off in the t Settings app. If it's off, you can n’t use data over your mobile nettwork and many featurres of your d device and ap pps might n not work corrrectly. You u’ll still be able to use daata if you’ree connected to a Wi-Fi network. Keeep in mind th hat you need d to have a SIM inserted in your deevice to see tthe mobile data optiion. You neeed to assign cellular datta usage to a SIM beforee adjusting data usage settings. To turn mobile data usage on or off, fo ollow these ssteps: n the Settinggs menu on your deevice. 1- Open 2- Undeer Wireless & networkss, touch Data usage. 3- Movee the switch h next to "Ceellular data" " or "Mobille data" to the O On or Off poosition. If yoou're turningg data off, touch OK. Check yyour data ussage how you y much daata you use on o your devvice, follow these steps: To check 1- Open n the Settinggs menu on your deevice. 2- Undeer Wireless & networkss, touch Data usage: - In the Mobile tab, you y can see how much data you usee on your caarrier's data nettwork or neetworks. If m more than on ne is displayyed, touch th he tabs at the toop of the scrreen to switcch between them. - To see Wi-Fi usage, touch the m menu icon in the top right corneer of the screen. Check the box b next to " "Show Wi-F Fi usage."
