GUARD1/tracking
Precision Locator Tag Model PLT-001
Description
The PLT-001 is an optional part of the Guard1 Tracking system. PLT-001 devices work in
conjunction with Duress Device Models DD-005 and DD-007 to provide additional location
precision within a given zone. The PLT-001 is typically mounted at 30 foot intervals in areas
where additional location precision is needed. In this configuration they provide a typical location
accuracy of approximately 15 feet. Since requirements for location accuracy and radio
frequency characteristics vary widely it is necessary to determine the optimal configuration at
each site.
Installation
The PLT-001 mounts in a standard single gang electrical box. It can be mounted vertically or
horizontally. Power can be provided by a hard wired 5 – 24 VDC supply or by a 3 volt CR-123A
lithium battery. Battery life is in excess of 5 years.
For optimal performance the PLT-001 should have a wide and unobstructed view of the area it
monitors. The PLT-001 must be located further than 20 centimeters (7.9”) from people, furniture,
and other obstructions.
