apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid

damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or

FCC Information
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two
conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept
any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
This equipment complies with the limits for a Class B digital device as specified in Part 15 of FCC Rules. These limits
provide reasonable protection against radio and TV interference in a residential area.
However, your equipment might cause TV or radio interference even when it is operating properly. To eliminate
interference you can try one or more of the following corrective measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the distance between the equipment and the radio or TV.
• Use outlets on different electrical circuits for the equipment and the radio or TV.

Preparation for Use
Unpacking and set up
1. Remove radio and all packing materials from the carton.
2. It is a good idea to save all packing materials in case the unit ever needs to be returned for service. If you do
dispose of the packaging, please do so properly.
3. Remove any feature labels, fact tags, or clear protective films from the front or top of the radio, if applicable. Do
not remove any labels from the back or bottom of the radio.
4. Place the unit on a level surface, close to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away from source of excess
dust, dirt, heat, water, moisture, vibration, and strong magnetic fields.
5. Do not block the ventilation holes on the back or bottom of the cabinet.
6. Plug the AC cord into an outlet.
Note: Backup battery should be installed before plugging in the AC cord. The clock will start working when the AC
cord is plugged in for the first time. For backup operation, refer to Battery Backup System.

Battery Backup Installation
1. Gently turn the unit over and open the battery compartment door.
2. Install 2 AA batteries, making sure to match the battery polarity (+ and -)
to the diagram in the batteries compartment. We recommend using alkaline
battery for longest dependable life.
3. Close the battery compartment door, turn the unit right side up, and plug
in the AC cord.







Battery Compartment
The backup batteries will maintain the time and alarm settings in the event of a temporary power interruption. If the
power foes out, the CD, nature sounds and radio will not play and no display will be visible but the clock will continue
to run. However, alarms will not sound during power interruption.
If a power failure occurs and backup battery is not installed or dead, all settings will be lost. When the power is
restored the display will read “12:00” and continue to run.

Operation Instruction
Setting Clock Time and Calendar
1. Depending on the Daylight Saving Time (DST) status in your location, switch the DST Switch to +1 or -1 to add
or subtract 1 hour to the current time. When the DST switch is set to +1, the DST Icon will appear on the lower
right of the time display.
2. To adjust the time, press and hold the Time Set Button until the display flashes.
3. Press the >> Button or << Button to adjust the time (press and hold to adjust rapidly). REMEMBER to set the
correct AM or PM. An icon in the upper right corner of the time digits is the PM indicator; there is no AM indicator.
4. Press the Time Set Button again to set the current year. Press the >> Button or << Button to adjust the year
(press and hold the buttons for rapid adjustment).
5. Press the Time Set Button again to set the current date. Press the >> Button or << Button to adjust the date
(press and hold the buttons for rapid adjustment).
6. Press the Time Set Button again to return to normal mode.

Listening to Compact Discs
1. Open the CD player door by pulling down the front panel from right hand side.
2. Place a disc on the CD spindle with the printed side facing up, then close the CD player door.
3. Press the Play/Pause Button. The CD will begin to play and the CD icon located on the lower left corner will
appear along with the current CD track number.
4. Press the Play/Pause Button during play if you wish to Pause play. The CD icon will flash. Press the Play/Pause
Button again to continue play.
5. Rotate the Volume Dial during play to adjust the volume level.
6. When you are finished listening, press the Power On/Off/Alarm Reset Button to stop play.

High Speed Music Search
Press and hold the >> or << Button to search for specific musical passages. When you find the passage you
are searching for, release the button. High speed search must be done while a track is playing.

Skip Tracks
1. Press the >> Button to skip to the beginning of the next track.
2. Press the << Button to skip back to the beginning of the track that is playing. Press the << Button again
to skip to the beginning of the previous track.

Repeat Play

Press the
Repeat Button once. The Repeat Indicator located below CD icon will flash for Repeat
mode. The track that is playing will repeat continuously until the controls are changed.
Press the
Repeat Button once more for Repeat All mode (the Repeat Indicator will stay lit and the
entire disc will repeat continuously until the controls are changed).
Press the
Repeat Button once more to turn off repeat mode. The indicator will be turned off too.

Random Play
•

Press the
Random Button. The Random Indicator located below the CD icon will turn on and all
tracks on the CD will play once in random order. While in Random play mode, press the
Repeat
Button to have all tracks play repeatedly in random order

Notes:
• Repeat and Random setting will be cancelled after power off or when the CD door is opened.

Listening to Radio and Nature Sounds
Antenna Information
FM – Fully extend the FM wire antenna and vary the direction to find the strongest signal.
AM – The AM bar antenna is inside the cabinet. Rotate the cabinet until you find the strongest AM signal.
1. Press the Power On/Off/Alarm Reset Button once to turn the radio/nature sound on. The lower part of the
display will show the current radio frequency or nature sound.
2. Slide the Function Switch to select AM, FM radio or nature sounds.
3. If you choose nature sounds, press >> or << Button to select the nature sound you like.
4. For listening to AM or FM radio, rotate the Tuning Thumbwheel to find the station you desire.
5. Rotate the Volume Thumbwheel to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
6. Press the Power On/Off/Alarm Reset Button to turn unit off.

Sleep to Radio/Nature Sounds
1. Turn the unit on then press the Sleep Button to start sleep mode. Change mode from AM, FM or nature sounds
if desired The Sleep indicator located on the lower left corner will turn on.
2. By default, the sleep time will begin at 90 minutes. Press the Sleep Button continuously to cycle through the sleep
time intervals (90-60-30-15-off).
3. If you continue to press the Sleep Button after 15-minutes sleep time, it will cycle to off and then turn off the unit.
4. If you want to turn the unit off before the sleep timer has expired, press the Power On/Off/Alarm Reset Button.

Alarm Operation

If you wish to wake to CD or Buzzer you must set Alarm 1 to the time that you desire to wake to.
If you wish to wake to Radio or nature sound, then you must set Alarm 2 to the time that you desire.

Wake to CD or Buzzer
1. Press and hold the Alarm-1 Button until the Alarm-1 icon and alarm time located on the lower part of the display
flashes.
2. Press the >> Button or << Button to set the alarm time (press and hold to adjust rapidly). Remember to set the
correct AM or PM time.
3. After you have set the time for Alarm 1, press the Alarm 1 Button or wait approx. 10 seconds to return to the
standard display. The Alarm-1 Indicator will appear on the display, showing that Alarm 1 is on. If the Indicator
does not appear, press the Alarm-1 Button once.
4. If you wish to wake to CD, make sure the disc is inserted correctly into the CD player and the volume is left at a
comfortable level to wake up to. (See Listening to Compact Discs). For waking to the Buzzer, make sure that a
CD is not inserted in the CD player.
Note: Whatever volume level the unit is left at will be the same volume level the CD alarm will reach when it turns on.

Wake to Radio or Nature Sound
1. Press and hold the Alarm-2 Button until the Alarm-2 icon and alarm time located on lower part of the display
flashes.
2. Press the >> Button or << Button to set the alarm time (press and hold to adjust rapidly). Remember to set the
correct AM or PM time.
3. After you have set the time for Alarm 2, press the Alarm 2 Button or wait approx. 10 seconds to return to the
standard display. The Alarm-2 Indicator will appear on the display, showing that Alarm 2 is on. If the Indicator
does not appear, press the Alarm-2 Button once.
4. Using the Function Switch, Tuning Thumbwheel and Volume Thumbwheel, select your Alarm-2 radio
settings to wake to . For more information, see the Listening to the Radio section for this manual.

Alarm Operation
Arming and Disarming Alarm (Turn Alarm Function On and Off)
1. Press the Alarm 1 (or Alarm 2) Button once. The unit will show the current alarm time on the bottom part of the
display .
Press again to disarm the alarm. The alarm is set to go on when the alarm icon is displayed.

Resetting the Alarm to come on the Next Day
•

After the alarm sounds, press the Power On/Off/Alarm Reset Button to turn off the alarm. The alarm will be
automatically reset and back for the same time the following day.
Note: If more than one alarm is set, when you press the Power On/Off/Alarm Button to stop the alarm that is
sounding, this will not affect the other alarm from turning on at the time it is set for.
• If you do not want the alarm to turn on the following day, press the corresponding alarm button once until the
alarm indicator is turned off.
• If the alarm is not turned off after it sounds, it will play for approximately one hour, then turn off automatically.
This cycle will repeat every 24 hours unless the controls are changed.

Snooze Operation
1. Press and hold the Snooze button during normal operation to set the Snooze period. Press the >> Button or
<< Button to set the snooze period from 1 to 30 minutes (press and hold to adjust rapidly).
2. Press the Snooze Button after the alarm sounds. The alarm will turn off then come back on after the selected
snooze period. You may repeat this several times during one-hour alarm cycle.

Stereo Headphone Jack
Connect a headphone (not included) to the jack on the right side of the unit for private listening. The built-in speakers
are shut off when headphones are connected.
Important! You must disconnect the headphone from the headphone jack before you go to sleep or you will not
hear the built-in speakers when the alarm sounds.

AUX-in/MP3 input Operation
The unit comes with an AUX cord for you to connect the T612 with your MP3 player or other audio device. Just plug
one end of the aux cable to your MP3 audio output or headphone jack and the other end of the cable to the unit
MP3-in jack. Turn on your audio device to listen to it through the T612 (you may need to press the Power On/Off/Alarm
Reset Button to turn on the unit). Adjust the volume on your audio device to a comfortable level.
Press the Power On/Off/Alarm Reset Button to turn off the unit.
Note: Once you plug a device into the MP3-in jack, you will not able to turn on the CD, radio or nature sounds (they
will still work during alarm operation).
Important! You should plug in the MP3-in cord for AUX input only and always unplug it for normal operation.

Dimmer Operation
During normal operation, press the Snooze/Dimmer Button to control the brightness of the LCD display.

Limited 90-Day Warranty Information
Timex Audio Products, a division of SDI Technologies Inc. (hereafter referred to as SDI Technologies), warrants this product to be free from
defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of 90 days from the date of original purchase.
Should this product fail to function in a satisfactory manner, it is best to first return it to the store where it was originally purchased. Should
this fail to resolve the matter and service still be required by reason of any defect or malfunction during the warranty period, SDI Technologies will repair or, at its discretion, replace this product without charge (except for a $10.00 charge for handling, packing, return
UPS/postage, and insurance). This decision is subject to verification of the defect or malfunction upon delivery of this product to the
Factory Service Center listed below. The product must include proof of purchase, including date of purchase. The fee for service after the
warranty period or without proof of purchase is $30.00.
Before returning this product for service, please first replace the batteries (if applicable) with fresh ones, as exhausted or defective batteries
are the most common cause of problems encountered.
If service is still required:
1.
Remove the batteries (if applicable) and pack the unit in a well padded, heavy corrugated box.
2.
Enclose a photocopy of your sales receipt, credit card statement, or other proof of the date of purchase, if within the warranty
period.
3.
Enclose a check or money order payable to the order of SDI Technologies, for the sum of $10.00 ($30.00 after warranty period).
4.
Send the unit prepaid and insured, to the Factory Service Center listed below.

cabinets, or units damaged by excessive heat; (iii) damage to CD’s or tape cassettes (if applicable); (iv) the cost of shipping this product to
the Factory Service Center and its return to the owner.
This warranty is valid only in the United States of America and does not extend to owners of the product subsequent to the original
purchaser. Any applicable implied warranties are also limited to 90 days, and SDI Technologies will not be liable for consequential damages.
(Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of consequential damages, so these restrictions may not apply to
you.) This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
