OTHER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS 1. T his unit is connected to power with the AC/DC adaptor. To completely disconnect the power input, pull out the AC/DC adaptor from the power. 2. T he unit and the AC/DC adaptor should not be obstructed or should be easily accessible during intended use. 3. A n appliance with a protective ground terminal should be connected to a mains outlet with a protective ground connection. 4. A void using or storing the unit at extreme temperatures. Only use the unit in moderate climates. 5. Avoid placing on top of stereo equipment that radiates heat. 6. If you are not using battery power, insert one end of the TRANSMITTER DOCK POWER ADAPTER into DC 9V on the transmitter, and the other end into an electrical outlet. You may insert batteries into the transmitter as backup or if you prefer not to use the TRANSMITTER DOCK POWER ADAPTER. 1. pen the BATTERY COMPARTMENT DOOR on the bottom of the transmitter by sliding the down (see compartment at right). FPO 2. Insert 6 AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators inside the compartment. 3. C lose the BATTERY COMPARTMENT COVER securely. Note: The LOW BATTERY LED illuminates when the battery level is low. CONNECTING THE TRANSMITTER dock TO AN AUDIO SOURCE The transmitter dock may be connected two ways depending on your audio source. • If your audio source has left and right RCA output jacks, you will only use the DUAL RCA CABLE. • If your audio source does not have left and right RCA output jacks, but rather a stereo headphone jack, you will use the 3.5MM RIGHT ANGLE CABLE. 2. Insert one end of the DUAL RCA CABLE into the appropriately colored R/L LINE IN 1 jacks on the transmitter, and the other end into your audio source’s left and right audio output jacks. Note: Do not connect the DUAL RCA CABLE to speaker terminals on your TV or audio source. This may damage the transmitter, your TV or audio source. HEADPHONE JACK 1. If you are not using battery power, insert one end of the TRANSMITTER DOCK POWER ADAPTER into DC 9V on the transmitter and the other end into an electrical outlet. 2. Insert one end of the 3.5MM RIGHT ANGLE CABLE into the 3.5MM LINE IN 2 jack on the TRANSMITTER DOCK and the other end into your audio source headphone jack. Note: Inserting a plug into the 3.5MM LINE IN jack automatically mutes the R/L LINE input source. Press VOLUME − or + to adjust the speaker volume to your desired listening level and press BASS to turn on the bass. The BASS INDICATOR illuminates. INSTALLING THE SPEAKER BATTERIES Note: If signal interference occurs, adjust the channel on both the speaker and the transmitter dock. 1. You may insert batteries into the speaker as backup or if you prefer not to use the SPEAKER POWER ADAPTER. 2. Turn the SCREWS located on the bottom of the speaker counterclockwise and remove the BATTERY COMPARTMENT COVER. 7. When not in use, press POWER on the speaker to turn the power off and remove the batteries to prevent leakage in the compartment. Slide CHANNEL 1, 2, 3 on the transmitter DOCK to the OFF position. 3. Insert 8 D batteries (not included) according to polarity indicators inside the compartment. USING THE SPEAKERS WITH ANOTHER AUDIO SOURCE 4. Replace the BATTERY COMPARTMENT COVER and tighten the SCREWS. 1. If you are not using battery power, insert one end of the SPEAKER POWER ADAPTER into DC 9V on the speaker and the other end into an electrical outlet. USING THE SPEAKERS WITH THE TRANSMITTER dock 2. Insert one end of the 3.5MM RIGHT ANGLE CABLE into your audio source’s 3.5MM jack and the other end into MP3 PLAYER AUX IN. 1. If you are not using battery power, insert one end of the SPEAKER POWER ADAPTER into DC 9V on the speaker, and the other end into an electrical outlet. 2. Turn on the power to your audio source. Note: If the TRANSMITTER DOCK is connected to your audio source’s variable-level output jacks, you may adjust the volume on your audio source. If the TRANSMITTER DOCK is connected to your audio source’s fixed-level output jacks, no volume adjustment is needed. 3. Slide CHANNEL SELECTOR on the transmitter from OFF to channel 1, 2 or 3. The TRANSMITTER DOCK POWER INDICATOR illuminates. 4. Press POWER on the speaker. The SPEAKER POWER INDICATOR illuminates. 3. Press POWER on the speaker and the SPEAKER POWER INDICATOR illuminates. 4. Turn on the power to your audio source. 5. Press VOLUME + or − to adjust the speaker volume to your desired listening level and press BASS to turn on the bass. The BASS INDICATOR illuminates. USING THE SPEAKER LIGHTS Use the speaker lights for additional ambience at night. Press the LIGHTS button once to turn the lights on and again to turn the lights off. 5. Make sure transmitter and speakers are on the same channel. Make sure transmitter is in an upright position. Move transmitter to a new location. Move transmitter and speakers closer together. No power. Make sure all components are plugged in and connections are secure. A soft thumping noise can be heard through the speaker when using an iPhone device or iPad tablet with the transmitter. Interference may occur when using an iPhone device or iPad tablet that is not in airplane mode. Reorient your device on the transmitter (place vertically or horizontally), or put your device in airplane mode. Brookstone® warrants this product against defects in materials and/or workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of purchase by the original purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, at its option, Brookstone will either 1) repair the defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or 2) replace the product with a new product that is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or 3) provide a store credit in the amount of the purchase price of the original product. A replacement product or part, including a user-installable part installed in accordance with instructions provided by Brookstone, assumes the remaining warranty of the original product. When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes Brookstone’s property. A purchase receipt is required. All repairs and replacements must be authorized in advance. Service options, parts availability and response times will vary. You are responsible for delivery and the cost of delivery of the product or any parts to the authorized service center for replacement, per our instructions. Limits and Exclusions: Coverage under this Limited Warranty is limited to the United States of America, including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. This Limited Warranty applies only to products manufactured for Brookstone that can be identified by the “Brookstone” trademark, trade name, or logo affixed to them or their packaging. The Limited Warranty does not apply to any non-Brookstone products.
