TheDeviceSoftwareinstalledin read only memory (“ROM”) oftheDevicemay only be used aspart oftheDeviceintowhichitwas embedded.You may use theinstallationSoftwarefrom a computer solelytodownload theSoftwaretooneDevice.Innoeventshall the installationSoftwarebe usedtodownloadtheSoftwareonto more than one Device. Alicensefor theSoftwaremaynotbe sharedorusedconcurrentlyon different computersorDevices.1.2 Scope ofLicense.This EULA onlygivesyou some rightstousetheSoftware.Trimble andMicrosoftreserveall other rights. Unlessapplicable lawgivesyou more rights despitethislimitation,you mayuse theSoftwareonlyas expresslypermittedinthisEULA.Indoing so,you mustcomplywithanytechnical limitationsintheSoftwarethat allowyoutouseitonlyincertainways.Exceptas expressly provided in this EULA,rightstoaccess theSoftwareonthisDevicedonotgive youanyright to implementMicrosoftpatents or otherMicrosoftintellectual propertyinsoftwareordevicesthataccessthisdevice. You may use remoteaccesstechnologiesinthe software suchas RemoteDesktop Mobiletoaccess theSoftwareremotelyfrom acomputer orserver.You areresponsible for obtaining any licensesrequired foruse oftheprotocolstoaccess other software.1.3Proof of License.Ifyou acquired theSoftwareon the Device,or on a disc or othermedia,a genuine Certificate ofAuthenticitylabelwithagenuine copy of theSoftwareidentifieslicensed software.To b evalid,thislabelmustbe affixedtotheDevice, or included on orinthesoftwarepackaging.Ifyou receive the labelseparately,itisnotvalid.Youshouldkeepthelabel onthedevice orpackagingtoprovethatyou arelicensed touse theSoftware.Toidentify genuineMicrosoftSoftware,see http://www.howtotell.com.1.4ConnectivitySoftware.Your Device package may includeWindows MobileDeviceCenter or MicrosoftActiveSynctechnology.If itisincluded,then you may installand useit inaccordancewiththelicensetermsthatare providedwith it. You may choosenot touse thisfeature.Trimbleand/or your Mobile Operator maynotsupportthisfeature or anupdateforyour device. b)SecurityUpdates/DigitalRightsManagement.Contentowners useWindows Media digital rights managementtechnology(WMDRM)toprotecttheir intellectualproperty,includingcopyrights.ThissoftwareandthirdpartysoftwareuseWMDRMtoplay andcopyWMDRM-protected content.Ifthe software failstoprotectthecontent,content owners may askMicrosofttorevoke thesoftware'sabilitytouseWMDRMtoplayorcopyprotectedcontent.Revocation doesnotaffect othercontent. When you downloadlicensesforprotectedcontent,you agreethatMicrosoftmay include arevocationlistwiththelicenses. Content owners may require youtoupgrade WMDRMtoaccesstheir content.Microsoftsoftwarethatincludes WMDRMwillask foryour consent priortotheupgrade.Ifyoudeclinean upgrade, youwill notbeabletoaccesscontentthatrequires theupgrade.1.10AdditionalSoftware/Services.The DeviceSoftwaremaypermitTrimble,Microsoft, theiraffiliatesand/ortheirdesignatedagentto provide or makeavailabletoyouSoftwareupdates,supplements,add-oncomponents,orInternet-basedservices components  of theSoftwareafterthedateyouobtainyourinitialcopy oftheSoftware(“SupplementalComponents”).1.10.1IfTrimbleprovidesor makesavailabletoyouSupplementalComponents and no other end userlicenseagreement termsareprovided alongwiththe SupplementalComponents,thenthetermsofthisEULA shall apply.1.10.2IfMicrosoft,itsaffiliatesand/oritsdesignatedagentmakesavailable Supplemental Components,and no other end userlicenseagreementterms areprovided,thentheterms ofthisEULAshallapply,exceptthattheMicrosoftentity or affiliateentityprovidingtheSupplemental Component(s)shall bethe licensor ofthe SupplementalComponent(s).1.10.3Trimble,Microsoftand each of their affiliates and/or theirdesignatedagents reserve therighttodiscontinue anyInternet-based services providedtoyouormadeavailabletoyouthroughtheuse oftheDeviceSoftware.1.11LinkstoThirdPartySites.IftheSoftwareprovideslinkstothirdpartywebsites,thoselinksare providedtoyou only as aconvenience, and the inclusion of anylinkdoes not imply an endorsementof thethirdpartywebsitebyMicrosoftor Trimble.1.12 OtherRightsandLimitations.(1) TheSoftwarecontainsvaluable trade secretsproprietarytoTrimbleanditssuppliers.Totheextentpermittedbyrelevantlaw,you shall not, nor allow anythirdpartyto copy,decompile,disassembleorotherwise reverse engineertheSoftware,or attempttodoso,provided,however,that totheextent anyapplicable mandatorylaws(such as,for example, national lawsimplementingECDirective91/250 on theLegalProtection ofComputer Programs) giveyou the righttoperform any of the aforementionedactivitieswithoutTrimble'sconsentinordertogaincertaininformation about theSoftwarefor purposesspecifiedintherespectivestatutes(i.e., interoperability),you hereby agreethat,beforeexercisinganysuchrights,you shallfirstrequestsuch information  fromTrimblein writing detailingthepurpose for which you needtheinformation.OnlyifandafterTrimble,atitssolediscretion,partlyorcompletely deniesyourrequest,may you exercise suchstatutoryrights. (2) ThisSoftwareislicensedas asingleproduct. (6) You maytransfer theSoftwareonlywiththeDevice, theCertificateofAuthenticitylabel,andtheselicensetermsdirectlytoathirdparty.Beforethetransfer,thatpartymustagreethattheselicensetermsapplytothetransfer and use oftheSoftware.You maynotretain anycopiesoftheSoftwareincludingthebackup copy.(7) TheSoftwareis subjectto UnitedStatesexportlaws andregulations.Youmustcomplywithalldomestic andinternationalexportlaws and regulations that apply totheSoftware.Theselaws includerestrictions ondestinations,endusers,andend use. Foradditional information seehttp://www.microsoft.com/exporting.(8)Withoutprejudice asto anyotherrights,TrimblemayterminatethisEULAwithoutnoticeifyoufailtocomplywiththetermsand conditions ofthisEULA.Insuchevent, youmustdestroyallcopiesof theSoftwareand all ofitscomponentparts.(9)IftheMicrosoftSoftwareincludes speechrecognition component(s),you should understandthatspeechrecognitionisaninherentlystatisticalprocess andthatrecognition errors are inherentin theprocess. NeitherTrimble,Microsoft, nor any oftheirsuppliersshallbeliable forany damages arising out of errorsinthespeechrecognition process.   Inserting and removing thebattery Toinsertthe batteryintothehandheld: 1. Ontheback ofthehandheld,turntheback cover lock counter-clockwisetounlockit.Pull the back cover toward youtoremoveit. 2. Toinsertthebattery,angletheleftsideofthebatteryintothehandheldfirst,withthelabel facingupwards.Pressthebatteryflatuntil it clicksintoplace. 3. To replace the backcover,insertthebottomedge of the coverfirst,andthenpushit flatuntilthe top clicksinto place.Turn the lock clockwisetosecure the backcover. To removethebattery:4. Removetheback cover of the handheld and then pulltherightsideofthebatterytowardsyou. CCAUTION – The handheld is notsealedfrom water and dust when the battery  isremoved.Trimble recommends only removing the battery  forshortperiods of time andonlyremoving the battery indoorsorfrominside theprotectionof a vehicle.   Charging thebattery Chargethebatteryinthehandheld(see page 18). Note – Do not disconnect fromGNSS ifyouwillbe reconnectingwithinabout fiveminutes.   Ifawirelessradioisturnedon,theWi-Fi radiowillbeturnedoff,andtheBluetoothandwirelessGSM/UMTS radioswillremainturnedon.The handheldiscapableof receivingdatavia Bluetooth ortheGSM/UMTS radio whileitisinSuspend mode. Thehandheldisabletoautomatically wake uptocalendar alarmsif itisinSuspendmode. CCAUTION – Tosavebatterypower, use the WirelessManager to turnoffthe wireless radios before you place the handheld into Suspendmode.  Toturnonthehandheld whenit isinSuspendmode,pressthePowerkey.Thehandheldisimmediately ready for operation.There may be a delay of upto30secondswhile the integratedGNSSreceiverand the Wi-Fi radio automaticallyreactivate. You can configure the handheldtoautomatically enterSuspend mode whenit has beenidle for aspecifiedtime.Bydefault,the handheldissettoenter Suspend modeif itisnotused forthreeminutes. To change thetimebeforethehandheld entersSuspend mode: 1. Tapthetitlebar of the Home or the Startscreenandthentap.The Power controlappears, displayingtheBatterytab. 2. TaptheAdvancedtab. 3. Resetting thehandheld Ifthescreen onthehandheldisblank, the handheld hasturnedoff.PressthePowerbuttonto turnonthehandheld. Ifthehandheldstopsrespondingtothestylus,orif itdoesnotrespond when youpressany of the keypadbuttons,you may needtoresetit.First,tryasoftreset.If thehandheld doesnotrespond,perform a hardreset. You can also resetthehandheldto itsfactory defaultsettings.  Performingasoftreset Asoftresetissimilartorestartingacomputer.Asoftresetsavesdataand closesallopen applications andthenrestarts the handheld.Alldata andsettingsareretained after asoftreset.   Duringsynchronization: •Messages arecopied fromthemail folders of Exchange or Outlook ontheoffice computertotheMessaging folder onthehandheld.By default, youwillreceivemessages from thepast3daysonly,thefirst100 lines of each message, andfileattachmentsoflessthan100 KBinsize. •EmailmessagesintheOutbox folder onthehandheld aretransferred toExchange orOutlook,and then sent from thoseprograms. •Emailmessagesinsubfoldersinother email foldersinOutlookaresynchronized onlyifthey were selectedfor synchronization (using ActiveSynctechnologyortheWMDC).
