New Zealand and Australia Approvals USER INSTRUCTIONS The 312 Flood Detector has been designed to detect a leak or flood from a bath, sink, washing machine etc. AS/NZ 4268:2003 How it works Canada On the underside of the detector, there are 3 metal probes. Buzzer The buzzer will sound for as long as water is detected. The buzzer will also sound once a minute for a short time (beep) if the detector battery is becoming low (in the same manner as a battery powered Smoke Detector). Battery The unit must be powered from a PP3 9V alkaline battery. The battery should be changed every 12 months. Test Call It is recommended that you test your Flood Detector at regular intervals (for example once a month). To do this, place the Flood Detector on a damp towel or flannel (NOTE: do not immerse in water). A call will be raised. Tell the staff at the monitoring centre that you are making a test.
