Inserting/Removing your iPad:
When inserting the iPad into the TYPO for
iPad Air, line up the camera hole on the case
with the iPad camera, placing the edge of
the iPad in the case camera first and then
apply pressure on the opposite sides to snap
the iPad into the case.
To remove the iPad from the TYPO for iPad
Air, press firmly on the edges of the hinge
while simultaneously pressing the back of
the case.
Powering on and off:
To power on your TYPO for iPad Air, flip the
on/off switch on the keyboard (bottom right
corner) towards the green dot. The LEDs
on the keyboard will illuminate briefly while
the keyboard powers on. To power off your
TYPO for iPad Air, flip the on/off switch away
from the green dot.
Pairing your TYPO for iPad Air:
Pairing your TYPO for iPad Air is easy, and
once paired the connection between your iPad
and TYPO for iPad Air should never be lost.
1. On your iPad select:
SETTINGS>BLUETOOTH>ON
2. Press and hold the Bluetooth button for
three seconds and the middle LED will flash
until your TYPO and iPad are paired.
3. Your iPad will display “Typo Keyboard” as
an available device. Select this option to
complete pairing.

Charging:
Your new TYPO for iPad Air Features a
powerful battery that lasts up to 1 year of
normal use between charges. It comes with
a charging cable you can use to charge your
keyboard quickly and conveniently. To charge
your TYPO for iPad Air, follow these steps:
1. Plug the Micro USB connector into the
charging port.
2. Plug the regular USB connector into any
USB outlet.
3. The white LEDs at the at the top of the
keyboard will illuminate to indicate your
TYPO is charging. One LED indicates 33%
charge, two LEDs indicate 50% charge,
and a all three LEDs indicate a full charge.
4. Remove the Micro USB connector and
enjoy your TYPO!
It usually takes 2-4 hours to completely
charge your TYPO.
Battery Life:
To check the TYPO for iPad Air’s remaining
battery power press the Fn + Battery keys.
The LED indicator will flash one of three ways:
1. One LED indicates 33% charge.
2. Two LEDs indicates 50% charge.
3. Three solid LEDs indicate 100% battery.
When your TYPO for iPad Air reaches
critical battery level, all three LEDs will flash
every 5 minutes.
To help preserve battery life, your TYPO will
enter sleep mode if left on and not used for
several minutes. To awaken your TYPO, press
any key. The TYPO’s battery has no memory
and may be charged whenever you wish.

Your TYPO for iPad Air has been designed
with the following function keys to give you
more control of your iPad:
HOME: Displays your iPad’s home screen
SPOTLIGHT: Opens your iPad’s search
CONTACTS: Launches your contacts*
CALENDAR: Launches your calendar*

SIRI
PREVIOUS TRACK: Skips to previous track on playlist
PLAY/PAUSE: Starts or pauses current playlist
NEXT TRACK: Skips to next track on playlist
MUTE: Mutes your iPad’s audio
VOLUME DOWN: Decreases your iPad’s volume
VOLUME UP: Increases your iPad’s volume
WORLD SYMBOL: Toggles between TYPO keyboards*
KEYBOARD HIDE/SHOW: Hides/shows on-screen
keyboard
FN+LEFT ARROW: Selects the word to the left
FN+RIGHT ARROW: Selects the word to the right
FN+DOWN ARROW: Selects all
CAPS LOCK: Activates Caps lock. When Caps Lock
is on a white indicator light will turn on. To turn Caps
Lock off press the key again.
*Requires TYPO Keyboard app
Troubleshooting:
If your iPad does not respond to your TYPO
there may be a simple explanation such as
a dead battery or an unsuccessful pairing.
Please use the following to help troubleshoot
your situation. If none of the following
solve your issue, then please contact TYPO
Customer Service and one of our trained
professionals will be happy to assist you.

Restart your iPad by holding the home and power
button until the Apple® logo appears on screen.
Turn your TYPO off and back on. You should see
the LED illuminate briefly, if not, charge your
TYPO.
After charging, turn your TYPO on. If the LEDs do
not illuminate, and your keyboard doesn’t operate
correctly, please contact TYPO Customer Service.
If your TYPO cannot establish or maintain a
Bluetooth® connection, reset the Bluetooth
module by charging your keyboard.
Forget and re-pair your TYPO. On your iPad,
select: SETTINGS>BLUETOOTH>ON. If you see
“Typo Keyboard” listed as an available device,
touch the arrow to the right of it and choose
to have your iPad forget the device. Push the
Bluetooth button on your TYPO and watch for
the LED to flash. Your iPad should display “Typo
Keyboard” as an available device; select it. If your
iPad gives you and error message, repeat the
pairing process.
