Testing
How it works
The sensor contains a transmitter and a “PUSH” activation
button. No switches or external wiring is required. An alarm is
activated by pressing the “PUSH” button, located on the end of
the sensor.
The sensor transmits a supervisory signal every 64 minutes.
When the sensor battery voltage is low, a low battery (trouble)
report is sent to the panel. The sensor has an estimated
battery life of one year.
The following steps describe the general guidelines for
performing a dealer sensor test. Refer to the specific panel
documentation for complete testing details.
1.
Use the panel touchpad to enter the dealer sensor test
mode.
2.
Press the “PUSH” button on the sensor to activate it.
3.
Listen for the appropriate siren response as described in
the panel documentation.
4.
Test the sensor from several locations within the premises
to check for consistent response.
Programming and installation guidelines
•
Try to keep sensors within 100 ft. of the panel. The 100
foot distance recommendation is given as a starting guide
line. The actual sensor range is determined during testing.
•
Do not expose the sensor to excessive moisture or high
humidity.
•
To allow users to take the sensor off-site without the panel
reporting a supervisory or failure condition, program the
sensor into an unsupervised sensor group.
