WARNING! FCC RF EXPOSURE COMPLIANCE
This PCS base station has been tested and complies with the Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) RF exposure limits for General Population/Uncontrolled exposure
environment. In addition, it complies with the following Standards and Guidelines:
FCC 96-326, Guidelines for Evaluating the Environmental Effects of Radio-
Frequency Radiation.
FCC OET Bulletin 65 Edition 01-01 (2001) Supplement C, Evaluating Compliance
with FCC Guidelines for Human Exposure to Radio Frequency Electromagnetic
Fields.
ANSI/IEEE C95.1-1992, IEEE Standard for Safety Levels with Respect to Human
Exposure to Radio Frequency Electromagnetic Fields, 3 kHz to 300 GHz.
ANSI/IEEE C95.3-1992, IEEE Recommended Practice for the Measurement of
Potentially Hazardous Electromagnetic Fields - RF and Microwave.
Antenna Installation Requirement:
The antenna must be installed and located on a roof top site, pole, or building structure away
from users and bystanders. It must be mounted in a manner to ensure that a minimum
separation distance of 20cm is normally maintained between all users and bystanders.
Important Safety Instructions
Read and follow all warning notices and instructions marked on the product or included in this
document.
This product is intended to be used with a three-wire grounding type plug - a plug that has a
grounding pin. This is a safety feature. Equipment grounding is vital to ensure safe operation.
Do not defeat the purpose of the grounding type plug by modifying the plug or using an adapter.
Prior to installation, use an outlet tester or voltmeter to check AC receptacle for the presence of
earth ground. If the receptacle is not properly grounded, the installation must not continue until a
qualified electrician can determine another method of grounding the equipment.
Do not allow anything to rest on the power or line cords and do not located the product where the
power or line cords could be stepped on.
This product must be serviced only by a qualified service technician.
Special cables, which may be required by the regulatory inspection authority for the installation
site, are the responsibility of the customer.

When installed in the final configuration, the product must comply with the applicable safety
standards and regulatory requirements of the country in which it is installed. If necessary,
consult with the appropriate regulatory agencies and inspection authorities to ensure compliance.
A rare phenomenon can create a voltage potential between the earth grounds of two or more
locations. If products installed in separate locations are interconnected, the voltage potential may
cause a hazardous condition. Consult a qualified electrical consultant to determine whether this
phenomenon exists and, if necessary, implement corrective action prior to interconnecting the
products.
Install this product in a location protected from humidity, dust, and extreme heat. This will
ensure that internal parts are not damaged. If liquids are spilled on the product, contact a
qualified service technician.
Use this product only with UTStarcom approved or recommended adapters and batteries.
Do not attempt to remove the cover. Contact a qualified service technician for servicing the
product.
