Modular UsageThe XR5 is a high-performance, 802.11a-based, 5 GHz radio module. It is only capable of the 5725-5850MHz frequency range per the FCC/IC grant conditions. For EU, the frequency range is 5500-5700MHz. Power and frequency limits are hardcoded into the radio card EEPROM.Installer Compliance ResponsibilityUbiquiti Networks does not allow operation outside of the approved 5500-5850 MHz frequencyrange. Important Modular Approval InformationThis device is intended only for the OEM integrator under the following conditions:• The antenna must be properly installed such that at least 20cm is maintained between the antenna and users for mobile usage conditions (for example, access points, routers, wireless ADSL modems, and similar equipment). A class II permissive change will be required to add portable usage condition, and
• The transmitter module must not be co-located with any other transmitter or antenna, except in accordance with FCC/IC multi-transmitter product procedure. The OEM integrator is responsible for ensuring compliance with the applicable FCC/IC rules for the transmitters operating individually and simultaneously, and• The transmitter module must use only the approved antennas listed below: - Chip antenna, 4.61 dBi - Dish antenna, 34.1 dBi - Panel antenna, 23 dBiIMPORTANT NOTE: It is necessary that the system integrators perform all applicable retesting and certification for their final system configurations.The final system should be re-tested for FCC/IC unintentional emission testing. In the event that the conditions outlined above cannot be met, then the FCC/IC authorization of this module is no longer considered valid and the FCC/IC ID cannot be used on the final system. In these circumstances, the OEM integrator will be responsible for re-evaluating the final system (including the transmitter) and obtaining a separate FCC/IC authorization.
Final System LabelingThe final system must be labeled in a visible area with the following:Contains FCC ID: SWX-XR5Contains IC: 6545A-XR5Final SyStem manual inFormationThe OEM integrator has to be aware not to provide information to the end user regarding how to install or remove this RF module in the user’s manual of the final system which integrates this module. The end user manual shall include all required regulatory information/warning in a prominent location as shown in this manual:FCC StatementsChanges or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:1. This device may not cause harmful interference, and2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
