INTRODUCTION
The UX300 FM Transmitter is a USB device intended to transmit audio from your
desktop computer or notebook to nearby FM radios all over your home or office
without cables or wires. The Ux300 is a truly plug-and-play device and is simply
connected to your computer via the supplied USB cable. No drivers are needed
for supported operating systems and the device installs itself within seconds as
soon as you plug it into your computer.
The UX300 appears as a sound card to your computer and any audio produced by
the computer will be transmitted over the USB connection to the transmitter for
reception on any standard FM radio. Power for the UX300 is provided through the
USB port and therefore there are no batteries required.
The UX300 offers a choice of 7 frequencies selectable though an easy to change
DIP switch. The frequency is PLL (Phase-Locked-Loop) synthesized for highquality stereo reception. It also offers a stereo audio output jack so that you
continue to listen to the audio on your existing speakers at the same time as the
transmitter is connected to the computer.
APPLICATIONS
MP3 Music Jukebox: Transmit your MP3 music files or any other audio from
your computer to your home stereo system or FM radios around the house or
office.
Internet Radios: Transmit internet radio stations from your computer to
standard FM radios around the house or office.
Car MP3 Player: Transmit audio from your portable computer to your car stereo
system without complicated wiring

INSTALLATION
1. Make sure your computer is turned on and has finished starting the operating
system. Then connect one end of the USB cable to a free USB port on your
computer and the other end to the USB port on the transmitter. Make sure of
the correct orientation of the cable.
2. After a few seconds your computer should recognize the transmitter as a USB
audio device and should automatically configure a standard driver for it.
3. Once the transmitter has been fully recognized by the operating system the
“On Air” LED on the transmitter will light up indicating the transmitter has
been successfully detected and is now operational.
4. You can now set the transmitting frequency by setting the “FREQ” DIP switch
on the transmitter according to the following diagram. You should choose a
frequency on which no other commercial station is broadcasting.
5. Open your favorite music playback application and play something in order to
test the transmitter. Make sure the volume level on your computer is set to
around medium.
6. Extend the UX300 antenna fully and put it in the upright position. Now tune
any nearby FM radio to the frequency selected and listen to the audio. You
should adjust the volume level on the computer so that you have a distortion
free reception. Setting the computer volume too high may distort the
transmitted signal.
Note that when the UX300 is connected to your computer it will become your
primary sound card and all audio played back will go to the UX300. The
UX300 incorporates an audio output jack which can be connected to your
existing computer speakers if you would like to listen to the audio on the
computer speakers at the same time.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem:
UX300 is connected to the computer, but the “On Air” LED does not light up.
Solution:
Check to make sure the USB cable is properly connected between the UX300 and
the computer.
Disconnect the USB cable from the computer, wait a few seconds and reconnect to
the computer making sure the USB plug is completely inserted into the computer
USB port with the correct orientation.
Try a different USB port if available.
If problem persists, restart the computer and try again.
Problem:
UX300 is connected to the computer and the “On Air” LED lights up, but there is no
sound coming from the radio.
Solution:
Check to make sure there is something playing on the computer and both the
volume level on the audio player application as well as the master computer
volume are set to medium.
Check to make sure the mute function of the audio player application has not been
accidentally enabled.
Check to make sure the frequency selection on the UX300 is the same as the
frequency tuned on the radio.
Restart the audio player application.
If problem persists, restart the computer and try again.
Problem:
Distorted audio heard on the radio.
Solution:
Adjust the volume level on the addio player application and/or master computer
volume.
