Simply press the Signal button and wait for the greenlight.  You will have 60 seconds to press the red Call button to call a 911operator.  To end the call, press theSignal button for 1 second.•  Most 911 Call Centers do not have the capability to identify the location of a cellular call, unless the caller verballyprovides that information. It is important to immediately identify your location to 911 operators when placing anemergency call to 911. Before saying anything else to the 911 operator, give an address and/or any nearbylandmarks to help speed assistance.•  Do not hang up until instructed to do so by a 911 operator. If your 911call somehow gets disconnected,StreetSafe's yellow "in use" light will turn off. StreetSafe cannot receive calls, so a 911 operator will be unable tocall you back. Simply press the Signal button and wait for a green light.  Press the red call button to place another911 call.•  In the unlikely event that you attempt to call 911 and you hear a recorded message, or a 911 operator does notanswer, simply press and hold the Signal button to "hang up". Press and hold the Signal button again and wait forthe green light.  You will have 60 seconds to press the red Call button to call a 911 operator.  StreetSafe willattempt to redial 911 through an alternate cellular carrier. Please feel free to contact customer service withquestions or concerns.Checking Batteries & Availability of ServicePress and hold the "signal" button until unit beeps.After several flashes and beeps, the lights will display:Green light - Cellular signal is availableRed light - Cellular signal is unavailableAll lights flash - batteries are weak and must be replacedThe lights will turn off automatically after 60 seconds.
Troubleshooting Problems• Verify that the batteries are inserted correctly and are not weak.• After pushing the red Call button until it beeps, look at the lights labeled "signal". If the red signal light becomes solid,this indicates that no signal could be found and your call will not go through to the Concierge Service Center.INSTALLING BELT CLIPInsert the belt clip into the slots on each sideClip removes by releasing one sideBattery MaintenanceWhen batteries are low, the unit will beep and all lights flash after pressing and holding "signal" button.  Check batteriesyearly even if the StreetSafe has not been used.  Check batteries each time you place a Concierge or 911 call.  Use AAAalkaline batteries only.  Never put discarded batteries into a fire or physically damage them.  Avoid mixing old and newbatteries or mixing different brands.MaintenanceClean Street Safe with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, dampen the cloth with diluted detergent then dry with a clean cloth.Caution: Other cleaning chemicals may discolor the surface.IMPOR TANT MESSAGE PLEASE READStreetSafe is not guaranteed to contact emergency services.  StreetSafe is intended solely for use in the United Statesand Canada. 911 emergency services are not available in all areas.  Analog cellular service is not available in all areas.Prior to your first use of StreetSafe you should call your local emergency communications office and verify that wireless911 service is available in your area. You should also remember that the availability of wireless 911 does not meanStreetSafe will always work. If you are in an area with insufficient cellular service, the call cannot be placed. Further, evenif you contact emergency services, the emergency service provider may not properly respond. You must also rememberto keep fresh batteries in StreetSafe.  In the United States, current Federal Communications Commission (FCC)Regulations require cellular service providers to pass all 911 calls through to all 911 emergency centers that haverequested the calls regardless of whether the call originates from a cellular service provider’s paid subscriber. In Canada,cellular service providers currently pass all 911 calls through to 911 centers on a voluntary basis. Should FCC regulationschange or if the policy of the Canadian service providers changes, 911 access through StreetSafe may be modified oreliminated. StreetSafe should not be used in Nova Scotia according to Chapter 4 of the Nova Scotia Emergency "911" Actof 1992, which states that no person shall use an automatic dialer to dial the number "911".WarrantyWHO IS COVERED? Only the original purchaser is covered. You must have the original sales invoice to obtain warrantyservice.WHAT IS COVERED? StreetSafe is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. StreetSafe IS NOTGUARANTEED TO CONTACT EMERGENCY SERVICES IN ALL INSTANCES.HOW DO I OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE? Contact SecureAlert, LLC at 1-888-809-1253. You will be given a returnauthorization code and the address to which the defective product may be sent. You must send the defective product andthe original sales invoice, postage paid, to SecureAlert, LLC. SecureAlert, LLC will repair or replace the defective productwith a new, renewed, or comparable product at no charge to you. SecureAlert, LLC has sole discretion in determiningwhether to repair or replace the product.WHAT IS THE WARRANTY PERIOD? The warranty begins on the date you purchased StreetSafe and lasts for ninety(90) days. When the warranty on the original product expires, the warranty on any replacement product also expires.WHAT IS EXCLUDED? Your warranty does not cover:• Product damaged by misuse, accident, unauthorized repair, or other causes not within the control of SecureAlert, LLC.• Reception problems caused by signal conditions or cable or antenna systems outside the unit.
