Features of 6011N2.1 Memory CapacityOne main feature of the 6011N pager is its large memory capacity.  The memoryis partitioned into 3 memory banks for storing different types of messages - usermessages, personal messages and news messages.2.1.1  User Memory BankA maximum of 40 user messages can be stored in the user memory bank.  Thelength of each message is limited by the maximum storage capacity, which is5,000 characters.Each message is assigned with a time stamp showing the receiving time and dateof the message.  “ User Memory Full”  message will be displayed if the usermemory bank is full.When a new message is received and the memory bank is full, the oldest readmessages will be deleted automatically (in case if all messages are not yet read,the pager will then delete the oldest unread one).  Audio or vibration alerttogether with a dynamic graph will be generated after a message has beenreceived.2.1.2  Personal Memory BankThe maximum capacity of the personal memory bank is 20 user messages.  Thetotal storage capacity of personal memory bank is limited to 2,200 characters.“ Personal Memory Full”  message will be displayed when the memory bank isfull.  User has to delete some old messages before new ones can be copied to thepersonal memory bank.2.1.3  News Memory BankThere are 16 mailbox allocated with each user programmable address.  Themaximum storage capacity for this bank is up to 23,500 characters and eachmessage can hold a maximum of 9,000 characters.  Each news message is comealong with a time stamp and a corresponding maildrop number.

Allpager functions are grouped into menus that give convenience for user to accessto each function.  Use ( ) or ( ) to locate the highlight bar to the desired itemand press ( ) to confirm the selection.  A dash line will appear in certain sub-menus to indicate that the end of sub-menu has been reached.

Pager Operation3.1 Turning On the Pager1. Press and hold ( ) for 2 secondsto turn on the pager. The pagingoperator’ s name and the modelname will be displayed. Initial screen when pager is turned on2. A 4-second audio or vibration alertwill be generated, depending onwhich alert mode is selected.  Pressany key to stop the alert. When a message is received, thepager generates either an audio alertor vibration alert and a notificationscreen will be displayedsimultaneously.Dynamic graph display on screenwhen receiving call2. Press any key to stop the alert, thenpress ( ) to display the messagethat you have received. A ‘ ’symbol appears at the bottom rightcorner of the screen indicates themessage is continued on nextscreen.  It will displayautomatically or you can press() to display the next screen.Example of a message screen withmessage continuation indicator3. Note:  If the message is a duplicateone, the ‘ ’  icon will be shownin the right of the screen. Example of a duplicate message3.3.2  Checking Unread Messages1. If user has any unread messages,the pager would alert atpredetermined intervals and anunread message icon ‘ ’  will bedisplayed on the left when you havepressed ( ) to display the statusscreen.                Press ■  in                      standby mode2. The number on the icon indicatesthe total number of unreadmessages. ‘There is 1 unread message.’

By pressing either ( ) or ( ) will display themessages in an ascending or descending order respectively. User can also speedup the scrolling rate of the first page of each message by press and hold thesekeys.3.3.4  Protecting and Unprotecting User MessageUp to 20 user messages can be protected in memory, preventing them frombeing replaced when memory is full.To protect a message:1. Select the message to be protected(locked) by continuously pressing(), then press (■) to invoke theuser memory bank sub-menu.    Message to be protected                      press (■)2. Press  ( ) to highlight “ UNPROTECT MESSAGE”  and press ( ) toconfirm.  ‘ ’  icon is no longer displayed.3.3.5 Copying MessageYou can store up to 20 user messages in the personal bank as personal notebook.1. Select the message to be copied bycontinuously pressing ( ).Message to be copied2. Select the message  to be deleted bycontinuously pressing ( ).Message to be deleted2. Press (■) to invoke the usermemory bank sub-menu and press() to highlight “ MESSAGEUTILITY”  and press ( ) toaccess the message utility sub-menu.                  press ( ) 3. Press ( ) to access theconfirmation screen when“ DELETE MESSAGE”  item isbeing highlighted.  Press ( )under ‘ YES’  to delete themessage or press (■) under ‘ NO’to abort the operation.Message Utility sub-menu screen                  press ( )Message deletion confirmation screenTo delete all messages in a user memory bank:1. This function isapplicable to the standard beeping alert and vibration alert only.1. In the “ AUDIO SETUP”  sub-menu, press ( ) to highlight“ UNREAD ALARM PERIOD” ,then press ( ) to access theunread alarm setup screen.Audio Setup sub-menu screen                     press ( )Unread Alarm Setup screen2. It applies to all viewing modes of messages once the font size ischanged.1. OTHER FEATURESBack-lighting:  In dim conditions, the pager’ s back-light makes the screen easy to read.The back-light can be turned on by holding ‘ ■’  for 2 seconds.  If no other keys arepressed, the back-light turns off automatically and returns to standby mode.Time Stamp Indication:  A time stamp is shown at the last line of each message.Real-time Clock:  The pager can display the real-time clock when user press either ‘ ▲’or ‘ ▼’  in standby mode.Low Battery Indication:  In case of low battery, the pager will alert user by vibrating orgenerating a long beeping signal and display the ‘ Battery Low’  screen.  Alert can bestopped by pressing any key and the ‘ ’  icon will be displayed in the status screen toremind user.1. To replace the battery:2. Turn off the pager.3. Unlock and open the battery compartment door, pick out the old battery.4. Place the new ‘ AAA’  size battery with correct polarity.5. Close and lock the battery compartment door.6.
