Volume + • Press to increase the listening volume. 11 – LED indicators Overview Connect You can choose to connect the camera unit for desktop usage, wall mounting or ceiling mounting. TIP For desktop usage, wall mounting and/or ceiling mounting the camera unit, you can refer to the Installation guide. • Your camera package contains the following items. After you have downloaded “vtech connect“, create an account and then login. Use only the camera power adapter supplied with this product. Make sure the electrical outlets are not controlled by wall switches. The power adapter is intended to be correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount position. The prongs are not designed to hold the plug in place if it is plugged into a ceiling, under-the-table or cabinet outlet. Make sure the camera unit and the power adapter cord are out of reach of children. Make sure you have setup an IEEE 802.11n router (not included). 12 – Reset button You can then choose to connect the camera unit with cable connection or Wi-Fi connection. 1. For cable connection, connect the camera unit and the router with a network cable. For Wi-Fi connection, skip to step 2. Installation guide Using the IP camera Camera operations Camera live view Take photo or record video Play melody Touch , , or to move the camera upward, downward, leftward or rightward; or touch and hold to pan or tilt the camera. 1. Touch to take a snapshot of the current view. Touch to play a melody from the camera speaker. There are five melodies available. 5. When you have successfully added the camera unit, tab View Live Camera to start viewing. 1 – Camera live view • Touch to switch to camera live view mode. 2 – Touch to talk • Touch to switch to talk mode. 3 – Take photo or record video • Touch to switch to snapshot/video mode. 4 – Play melody • Touch to select a melody. TIP If connection fails, press the Reset button on the bottom of the camera unit for five seconds to reboot the camera, and then add the camera again. Touch to talk Touch to talk through the camera speaker. 2. Touch the video icon on the right below the live view to switch to record video mode. 3. Touch to record a video of the current view. 4. Touch the camera icon will switch back to take photo mode. General product care To keep this product working well and looking good, follow these guidelines: • Avoid putting it near heating appliances and devices that generate electrical noise (for example, motors or fluorescent lamps). • DO NOT expose it to direct sunlight or moisture. • Avoid dropping the product or treating it roughly. • Clean with a soft cloth. • DO NOT immerse the camera unit in water and do not clean it under the tap. • DO NOT use cleaning spray or liquid cleaners. • Make sure the camera unit is dry before you connect it to the mains again. Storage When you are not going to use the IP camera for some time, store the camera unit and the adapter in a cool and dry place. CONSERVEZ CES INSTRUCTIONS Important safety instructions When using your equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury, including the following: 1. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product. 2. Adult setup is required. 3. This home monitor is intended as an aid. It is not a substitute for home security supervision and should not be used as such. 4. This product is not intended for use as a medical monitor. 5. Do not use this product near water. For example, do not use it next to a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub or swimming pool, or in a wet basement or shower. 6. Use only the adapters included with this product. Incorrect adapter polarity or voltage can seriously damage the product. Power adapter: Input 100-240V AC 400mA 50/60Hz; Output: 5V DC 2000mA 7. The power adapter is intended to be correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount position. The prongs are not designed to hold the plug in place if it is plugged into a ceiling, under-thetable or cabinet outlet. 8. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. 9. Unplug the power cords before replacing batteries. 10.Do not cut off the power adapters to replace them with other plugs, as this causes a hazardous situation. 11.Do not allow anything to rest on the power cords. Do not install this product where the cords may be walked on or crimped. 12.This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply in your home, consult your dealer or local power company. 13.Do not overload wall outlets or use an extension cord. 14.Do not place this product on an unstable table, shelf, stand or other unstable surfaces. 15.This product should not be placed in any area where proper ventilation is not provided. Slots and openings in the back or bottom of this product are provided for ventilation. To protect them from overheating, these openings must not be blocked by placing the product on a soft surface such as a bed, sofa or rug. This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. 16.Never push objects of any kind into this product through the slots because they may touch dangerous voltage points or create a short circuit. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. 17.To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this product, but take it to an authorized service facility. Opening or removing parts of the product other than specified access doors may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect reassembling can cause electric shock when the product is subsequently used. 18.You should test the sound reception every time you turn on the units or move one of the components. 19.Periodically examine all components for damage. 20.Be aware of possible loss of privacy while using public airwaves. Conversations may be picked up by other nursery monitors, cordless phones, scanners, etc. 21.Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the product. 22.The small parts of this monitor can be swallowed by babies or small children. Keep these parts out of reach of children. 23.The product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Cautions • Use and store the product at a temperature between 32oF and 104oF. • Do not expose the product to extreme cold, heat or direct sunlight. Do not put the product close to a heating source. • Other electronic products may cause interference with your IP camera. Try installing your IP camera as far away from these electronic devices as possible: wireless routers, radios, cellular telephones, intercoms, room monitors, televisions, personal computers, kitchen appliances and cordless telephones. Precautions for users of implanted cardiac pacemakers Cardiac pacemakers (applies only to digital cordless devices): Wireless Technology Research, LLC (WTR), an independent research entity, led a multidisciplinary evaluation of the interference between portable wireless devices and implanted cardiac pacemakers. Supported by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, WTR recommends to physicians that: Pacemaker patients • Should keep wireless devices at least six inches from the pacemaker. • Should NOT place wireless devices directly over the pacemaker, such as in a breast pocket, when it is turned ON. WTR’s evaluation did not identify any risk to bystanders with pacemakers from other persons using wireless devices. Electromagnetic fields (EMF) This VTech product complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). If handled properly and according to the instructions in this user’s manual, the product is safe to be used based on scientific evidence available today. FCC and IC regulations FCC Part 15 This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the requirements for a Class B digital device under Part 15 of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules. These requirements are intended to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. This Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian requirement: CAN ICES-3 (B)/NMB-3(B) number only signifies that the Industry Canada technical specifications were met. This product meets the applicable Industry Canada technical specifications. RF radiation exposure statement The camera unit complies with FCC RF radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. The camera unit should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 8 in (20 cm) between the main unit and all persons’ body. Use of other accessories may not ensure compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. This equipment complies also with Industry Canada RSS-210 with respect to Canada’s Health Code 6 for Exposure of Humans to RF Fields.
