APCD-LM014-A 19Warnings and AdvisoriesGeneral AdvisoryOperator and maintenance personnel must be familiar with the related safety requirements before they attempt to install or operate the LMS3000 equipment. It is the responsibility of the operator to ensure that the public is not exposed to excessive Radio Frequency (RF) levels. The applicable regulations can be obtained from local authorities. Do not operate the LMS3000 CCU or EUM without connecting a 50-ohm termination to the antenna port. This termination can be a 50-ohm antenna or a 50-ohm resistive load capable of absorbing the full RF output power of the transceiver.WARNING!The CAP must be professionally installed. Antennas andassociated transmission cable must be installed by qualifiedpersonnel. WaveRider assumes no liability for failure to adhereto this recommendation or to recognized general safetyprecautions.WARNING!To comply with FCC RF exposure limits, the outdoor antennas for theLMS3000 CCU or EUM must be fix-mounted on outdoor permanent structures toprovide a separation distance of 2 metres or more from allpersons to satisfy RF exposure requirements. The distance ismeasured from the front of the antenna and the human body. Itis recommended that the antenna be installed in a location withminimal pathway disruption by nearby personnel.WARNING!There is a DC signal of 5-7.5V (current limited to 50 mA) on theAntenna Output of the CCU3000 and the EUM3000. Antennas orRF test equipment must be able to accept this DC signal or havea device to block the DC signal. Otherwise, damage can be doneto the antenna, test equipment, and/or the CCU/EUM3000.
