SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) notice - VM-01TYOUR VERTU PHONE (MODEL: AsterT, TYPE: VM-01T, FCC ID: P7QVM-01T)MEETS GUIDELINES FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVESYour phone is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed to not exceed the limits for exposure to radiowaves recommended by international guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the independentscientific organization ICNIRP, and include safety margins designed to assure the protection of allpersons, regardless of age and health. The exposure guidelines for mobile devices employ a unit of measurement known as the SpecificAbsorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit stated in the ICNIRP guidelines is 2.0 Watts/kilogram (W/kg),averaged over ten grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions, withthe device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. The actual SARlevel of an operating device can be below the maximum value because the device is designed to use onlythe power required to reach the network. That amount changes depending on a number of factors, suchas how close you are to a network base station. The highest SAR value under the ICNIRP guidelines foruse of the device at the ear is 0.274W/kg. This phone meets RF exposure guidelines when used either inthe normal use position against the ear or when positioned at least 10mm (3/8 inch) away from the body. When a carry case, belt clip or holder is used for body-worn operation, it should not contain metal, andshould position the phone at the above-stated distance away from your body.In order to transmit data files or messages, this device requires a good quality connection to the network. In some cases, transmission of data files or messages may be delayed until such a connection is available.Ensure that the above separation distance instructions are followed untilthe transmission is completed.Use of phone accessories and enhancements may result in different SAR values. SAR values may varydepending on nationalreporting and testing requirements and the network band. Additional SARinformation may be provided under Product information at www.vertu.com.USA and CanadaYour phone is also designed to meet the requirements for exposure to radio waves established by theFederal Communications Commission (USA) and Industry Canada. These requirements set a SAR limitof 1.6W/kg, averaged over one gram of tissue. The FCC/IC highest SAR values reported under thisstandard during Product certification for use at the head are 0.62W/kg and 0.62W/kg, and whenproperly worn on the body (10mm gap) is 1.19W/kg.Your phone may cause TV or radio interference (for example, when using the phone in close proximity toreceiving equipment). The FCC or Industry Canada can require you to stop using your phone if suchinterference cannot be eliminated. If you require assistance, contact Vertu Customer Service. TheProduct, or Products,comply with Part 15 of the FCC rules.Safety and warranty© 2014 Vertu Corporation Limited. All rights reserved. 91

Note that this is not intended to prohibit the transmission of control or signallinginformation or the use of repetitive codes where required by the technology.lThe device for the band 5150–5250 MHz is only for indoor usage to reduce potential for harmfulinterference to co-channel mobile satellite systems.lThe maximum antenna gain permitted (for devices in the bands 5250–5350 MHz and 5470–5725MHz) to comply with the limit on equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP).lThe maximum antenna gain permitted (for devices in the band 5725–5850 MHz) to comply with theEIRP limits specified for point-to-point and non point-to-point operation as appropriate. In addition, high-power radars are allocated as primary users (meaning that they have priority) of theband 5250–5350 MHz, and these radars could cause interference and/or damage to licence-exempt LANdevices.Declaration of ConformityWe, Vertu, declare under our sole responsibility that the following are in conformitywith the provision of Council Directive 1999/5/EC: Model VERTUAsterT, typeVM-01T; Model Vertu V Collection Wired Headset type WH-4V & WH-5V; andUSB data cable, type CA-225DV.
