NuSkinProDerm®IISkinAnalyzer–UserManualPage41 INTRODUCTIONProDerm®TheNuSkinProDerm®SkinAnalyzertakesameasurableapproachtoskincare,revealingwhatyourmirrororbestfriendcan’t.TheNuSkinProDermSkinAnalyzerprovidesavisualassessmentoftheappearanceofyourskin.Withtheadvanced,proprietarytechnologyoftheNuSkinProDermSkinAnalyzer,thescientifictruthleadsthewaytobeautifulresults.TheNuSkinProDermSkinAnalyzerusesadvancedopticsandlightingtechnologytocaptureimagesoffourkeyskinattributes–discoloration,linesandwrinkles,texture,andporesize.ProDermanalyzestheseimagesusingalgorithmsdevelopedbyleadingimageanalysisandskincareexperts.Wherevertheopportunityarises,youcanusetheNuSkin®ProDermSkinAnalyzertoshowpeopletheconditionoftheirskinandrecommendsolutionstotargetindividualskincareconcerns.1.1 SAFETYINSTRUCTIONSCAUTION:BeforeusingtheProDerminstrumentyoumustreadthesafetyinstructionsandguidelinesintheProDermUserManualtohelpensureyourownpersonalsafetyandtohelpprotectyourinstrumentfrompotentialdamage.Inadditiontothismanual,theQuickStartGuidewillprovidethebestwaytogetstartedquicklyandbeginusingyourProDermDevice.

Notapplyingconsistentpressureagainsttheskinwillresultindistorted,poorlyfocusedimages,unevenpressurecreatesinconsistentillumination.Thiscouldleadtothemisinterpretationofskinattributesbythesoftware.7. Notenoughpressurecancauseshadowsaroundtheoutsideedgesoftheimage–thisoccurswhenthereisoutsidelightontheimage,ortheimager’sLEDsarenotabletodirectlightproperlyacrosstheskin.AvoidShadowsAvoidMovement8. Toomuchpressureagainsttheskincanresultinstretchedanddistortedimages,orturnfinelinesintowrinkles.9. NuSkinProDerm®IISkinAnalyzer–UserManualPage27LinesandWrinklesThenextimageistakentoevaluateLinesandWrinkles.Theimageistakenneartheoutsidecorneroftheeye.Inthecaseofthewrinklesevaluation,wrinklefeaturesthatcastshadowswillresultinamoreaccurateanalysis.However,youshouldnottaketheimagetooclosetoeye.Asktheclienttorelaxsothatthefacialfeaturesareatrest,andplacetheimagerflushagainsttheskintotaketheimage.Becarefultonotpresstoohardasthiswillflattentheskinartificially.ExamplesofWellCapturedLinesandWrinkleImages:PoreSizeThelastimageistakentoanalyzePoreSize.Theporesizeimageistakenonthecenteroftheforehead,justabovethebrowline.Youshouldfocusoncapturinganylargeporesintheregion,andpayspecialattentiontoholdingtheProDermflushagainsttheskinsoasnottogetshadowsaroundtheedgeoftheimage.TIP:SomeProDermusersprefertousethesideofthenoseinsteadoftheforeheadtoevaluateporesize.Althoughtheimagemaybemoredifficulttoduplicateforfollowupsessions,thisareagenerallyprovidesagoodviewforporeanalysisifdesired.

NuSkinProDerm®IISkinAnalyzer–UserManualPage55Cleanthedisplaywithasoft,cleanclothandwater.Applythewatertothecloth;thenstroketheclothacrossthedisplayinonedirection,movingfromthetopofthedisplaytothebottom.Removemoisturefromthedisplayquicklyandkeepthedisplaydry.Long‐termexposuretomoisturecandamagethedisplay.Donotuseacommercialwindowcleanertocleanyourdisplay.6.6 PROTECTINGAGAINSTELECTROSTATICDISCHARGEStaticelectricitycanharmelectroniccomponentsinsideyourinstrument.Topreventstaticdamage,dischargestaticelectricityfromyourbodybeforeyoutouchanyofyourinstrument’selectroniccomponents,suchasamemorymodule.Youcandosobytouchinganunpaintedmetalsurface.Youcanalsotakethefollowingstepstopreventdamagefromelectrostaticdischarge(ESD):Whenunpackingastatic‐sensitivecomponentfromitsshippingcarton,donotremovethecomponentfromtheantistaticpackingmaterialuntilyouarereadytoinstallthecomponent.Justbeforeunwrappingtheantistaticpackaging,besuretodischargestaticelectricityfromyourbody.Whentransportingasensitivecomponentfirstplaceitinanantistaticcontainerorpackaging.Handleallsensitivecomponentsinastatic‐safearea.Ifpossible,useantistaticfloorpadsandworkbenchpads.

NuSkinProDerm®IISkinAnalyzer–UserManualPage57ElectromagneticInterference(EMI)isanysignaloremission,radiatedinfreespaceorconductedalongpowerorsignalsleads,thatendangersthefunctioningofaradionavigationorothersafetyserviceorseriouslydegrades,obstructs,orrepeatedlyinterruptsalicensedradiocommunicationsservice.RadiocommunicationsservicesincludebutarenotlimitedtoAM/FMcommercialbroadcasts,television,cellularservices,radar,air‐trafficcontrol,pagers,andPersonalCommunicationServices(PCS).Theselicensedservices,alongwiththeunintentionalradiatorssuchasdigitaldevices,includingcomputers,contributetotheelectromagneticenvironment.ElectromagneticCompatibilityistheabilityofitemsofelectronicequipmenttofunctionproperlytogetherintheelectronicenvironment.WhilethiscomputerhasbeendesignedanddeterminedtobecompliantwithregulatoryagencylimitsforEMI,thereisnoguaranteethatinterferencewillnotoccurinaparticularinstallation.Ifthisequipmentdoescauseinterferencewithradiocommunicationsservices,whichcanbedeterminedbyturningtheequipmentoffandon,youareencouragedtotrytocorrecttheinterferencebyoneormoreofthefollowingmeasures:ReorientthereceivingantennaRelocatethecomputerwithrespecttothereceiver.Movethecomputerawayfromthereceiver.Plugthecomputerintoadifferentoutletsothatthecomputerandthereceiverareondifferentbranchcircuits.Ifnecessary,consultaNuSkinTechnicalSupportrepresentativeoranexperiencedradio/televisiontechnicianforadditionalsuggestions.TheProDerminstrumentisdesigned,tested,andclassifiedfortheirintendedelectromagneticenvironment.Theseelectromagneticenvironmentclassificationsgenerallyrefertothefollowingharmonizeddefinitions:ClassAistypicallyforbusinessorindustrialenvironments.ClassBistypicallyforresidentialenvironments.InformationTechnologyEquipment(ITE),includingdevices,expansioncards,printers,input/output(I/O)devices,monitors,andsoon,thatareintegratedintoorconnectedtothecomputershouldmatchtheelectromagneticenvironmentclassificationofthecomputer.
