The VTech® Sort & Spin Blender™ is packed with early learning fun. Sort the shapes to learn colors, shapes and hear a variety of sing along songs, phrases and familiar melodies. Turn the blending knob to mix up the shapes, hear a variety of sounds, phrase and melodies. The VTech® Sort & Spin Blender™ encourages motor skill development and imaginative play. Let’s get blending! Introduction REMOVABLE LID 5 SHAPE SORTER PIECES SOUND EFFECT BUTTON BLENDING KNOB ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE • One VTech® Sort & Spin Blender™ • One instruction manual WARNING: All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety. Rotate the packaging lock 90 counter-clockwise. Pull out the packaging lock. GETTING STARTED BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF. 2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit. Use a coin or a screwdriver to loosen the screw. 3. Install 2 new ‘AA’ (AM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.) 4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure. Instructions & Activities Unlocking the Packaging Locks: • Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage. • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not mix batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbonzinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium). • Remove the batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time. • Always remove exhausted batteries from the equipment. • Do not dispose of batteries in fire. • Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries. • The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. • Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. PRODUCT FEATURES 1. ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/ MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the Learning Mode ( ), Play Mode ( ) or Music Mode ( ) position. To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the OFF position. Instructions & Activities BATTERY NOTICE 2. VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH To adjust the volume, slide the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH on the bottom of the unit to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or the HIGH VOLUME ( ) position. PLEASE NOTE: This toy was designed for role-play purposes only. Please do not add any liquid as it will damage the unit. ACTIVITIES 1. Slide the on/off/mode selector switch to select a mode of play. You will hear a sing along song and fun phrases. The light will flash with the sound. 2. Insert a shape sorter piece into the corresponding shape slot to learn about shapes and colors in the learning mode, colors and fruit in the play mode and a variety of melodies in the music mode. The light will flash with the sound. 3. Twist the blending knob to spin the disc inside the blender. You will hear fun phrases and blending sounds or random melodies. The shapes will spin around inside the blender. The light will flash with the sound. Instructions & Activities 3. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF To preserve battery life, the VTech® Sort & Spin Blender™ will automatically power-down after approximately 30 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button. 5. Remove or replace the lid to hear fun sounds, short tunes or phrases. The light will flash with the sound. 6. Drop the shape sorter pieces into the top of the blender to hear a variety of fun sounds, melodies or sing along songs. The light will flash with the sound. 7. If there is no input to the unit after approximately ten seconds, you will hear fun phrases or melodies. After another ten seconds without input, you will hear a sing along song. If there continues to be no input, you will hear “Bye-bye” and the unit will automatically power-down. Instructions & Activities 4. Press the sound effect button to hear fun phrases and a melody.
