With one touch, your baby becomes part of an enchanting story! The Touch & Teach Busy Books™ include four interchangeable stories and a magical bee pointer. On each page, baby will discover touch-sensitive words and colorful pictures. Two modes of play keep baby entertained while learning animals, letters, colors, sounds and shapes. TEN NUMBER BUTTONS ? a a b b c c ON/OFF BUTTON Introduction MODE SELECTOR SWITCH MAGIC BEE POINTER ACTIVITY BOOKS SLOT BOOK HINGE FOUR ACTIVITY BOOKS INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE • One VTech® Touch & Teach Busy Books™ learning toy • Four activity books - Alphabet, Sounds, Colors & Shapes • One instruction manual GETTING STARTED BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF. 2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen the screw. 3. Install 2 new ‘AA’ (UM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.) Instructions & Activities WARNING: All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety. 4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover. BATTERY NOTICE • Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage. • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not mix batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbonzinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium). • Always remove exhausted batteries from the equipment. • Do not dispose of batteries in fire. • Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries. • The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. • Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. PRODUCT FEATURES Instructions & Activities • Remove the batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time. 1. ON/OFF BUTTON To turn the unit ON, press the ON/OFF BUTTON ( ). To turn the unit OFF, press the ON/OFF BUTTON again. 2. VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH To adjust the volume, slide the VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH at the back of the unit to low ( ) for LOW volume or to high for HIGH volume ( ). For convenience, a storage compartment for all four activity books is located at the back of the product. 4. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF To preserve battery life, the Touch & Teach Busy Books™ will automatically power-down after approximately two minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the on/off button. ACTIVITIES 1. Press the on/off button. You will hear an opening song followed by a fun phrase. Instructions & Activities 3. ACTIVITY BOOK STORAGE 2. Choose a mode of play by sliding the mode selector switch to either the Discovery Mode or the Hide ‘n Seek Mode. 4. Use your magic bee pointer to touch the images with words on each page. There are a total of five touch-sensitive images on each page. As you touch them, you will hear them identified. 5. As you turn each page of the book, it will magically be recognized! Instructions & Activities 3. Align the hinge and lock the four activity books into the slot to learn a specific curriculum. You can choose from the alphabet, sounds, colors or shapes. To remove the books, lift the bottom end of the book up. 6. When an activity book is not inserted, press the number buttons to hear numbers and related phrases identified. CARE & MAINTENANCE 2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source. 3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time. 4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water. TROUBLESHOOTING If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps: 1. Please turn the unit OFF. 2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries. 3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries. 4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again. 5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries. Care & Maintenance/Troubleshooting 1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
