Guide
STEP
DESCRIPTION
STEP
Prior to installing the LAR, ensure that the
Power Supply is TURNED OFF to prevent
electrical shock or damage to equipment.
DESCRIPTION
Plug the wired connector into the LAR and
install the LAR onto the Mounting Plate, using
the screw removed in Step 2. DO NOT place
excess network and power supply wires inside
the LAR case.
Locate and record the LonWorks identification
number onto the facility floor plan indicating the
LAR's position and network wiring path.
The antennas have a protective covering to prevent them
from touching metal. Ensure that they do not touch
metal objects; do not encase, wrap, or otherwise cover the
antennas with metallic materials.
Attach the Split Ferrite Core (Item A) to the
power supply wire, passing the wire through the
core three times. Leave enough wire length so
that the ferrite core is 1/2 inch from the outside
of the LAR case, as shown in Detail A.
If the LAR is to be installed to a receptacle box,
pass the network and power supply wires
through the hole in the Mounting Plate.
Otherwise, wire the connector as shown, and put
the wires through the slot provided on the side
of the LAR case in Step 4.
3A
DO NOT turn on the Power Supply until all
devices are installed. After the system is
installed, complete the following steps.
Turn Power ON. Add the LARs to the
PerceptIs software using the Auto Configure
command in the LonWorks Device Installation
dialog box.
Connect the LonWorks Network IN, Network
OUT, and Power Supply to the terminals, as
shown in Detail A. If the LAR is at the end of
the network, then terminate the network
segment with Item B (105 Ω terminator).
OR
Add LAR icons to the facility maps representing
the LARs' actual physical location.
OR
3B
2X
Commission the system.
Check all system components, and ensure that
the PerceptIs software displays all LARs and
receives all alarms from each LAR. Check LAR
coverage; see the Commissioning chapter in the
PerceptIs Installation Manual (p/n 805I0301) for
further instructions.
Referring to the facility floor plan, position the
LAR Mounting Plate. Do not place near metal
objects and structural frames. Ensure that the
status LED will be visible and that space is
allowed for the antennas. Install the LAR
Mounting Plate using one of the following
methods.
