CompuStar 2000-AS User's Manual Page 3 of 102. Alarm FunctionUpon arming, your alarm will be triggered by:• Light Impact (first stage shock sensor). The siren will chirp 4times and the parking lights will flash 4 times.• Heavy impacts (second stage shock sensor). The siren will go offand the parking lights will flash for 60 seconds.•  Door opened. The siren will go off and the parking lights will flashfor 60 seconds• If you have installed the Optional starter kill function, your vehicle willnot start with key when system is armed.Note: (Siren duration 30Sec. or  60Sec. refer to programming section)3. PanicIn Case of  emergency, and you want to attract attention.  Press buttonPanic.4. Start FunctionPress button III for 2 seconds to start the engine.  The engine will start.The engine will run 15 minutes (25 min for diesel) or 25 minutes (40 minfor diesel).  If the engine has a problem starting the system will retry 2additional times.  If the engine does not start after the 3rd attempt, please callyou Authorized Dealer.Note: Runtime, please consult you Authorized Dealer.Diagnosis for Remote Starting ErrorIf there is an error, you will hear three chirps when you attempt to remotestarting the vehicle. 2 seconds later, the cause for the error will be indicatedby the chirping and parking light flashes.ErrorNumber Error Reason1Engine On2Key On3 Door Open4 Trunk Open5 Brake On / Valet Switch On6 Hood Open
CompuStar 2000-AS User's Manual Page 4 of 107 Reservation Off (Manual Transmission Only)5. Remote Starting for the manual transmissionIMPORTANT1.  The transmission must be in the NEUTRAL position.2.  The vehicle windows must be rolled up.3.  Do not set the reservation mode with any people in thevehicle.4.  Do not remote start with any people in the vehicle.Note: The system is not recommended for vehicle withremovable tops.Reservation Mode must be set for manual transmission.Step 1: After arriving at the destination, and before turning theengine OFF, place the transmission in the Neutral position.Step 2: Remove your foot from the foot brake.Step 3: Activate the parking brake.Step 4.  Remove the key from the ignition. The engine will remainrunning.Step 5. Exit the vehicle and close the door within two minutes fromstep 3.  The engine will shut off and reservation mode for theremote starter is now complete.Your vehicle is now ready for remote starting.  However, thereservation mode will be cancelled if the door is opened or theCompuStar is put in Valet mode after the reservation has been set.Once cancelled, you will have to start the vehicle with the key andrepeat the above 5 steps if you want to restore the reservation.Note: If you try to remote start the vehicle when the reservationmode has not been set or cancelled, the system will not start.  Theparking lights will flash three timesCanceling Reservation Mode

The engine will shut off if  (a) you donot activate your parking brake or press the foot brake when youturn your key to off position,  (b) release your parking brake whileengine is running, or if (c) you press button III between step 3 and4.6. Safety Shut DownSystem has several Shut Down inputs.  That will shut down the engine orprevent from remote starting.• the Hood is opened,• the Brake is pressed,• the Valet mode is entered, or• the Valet switch is turned on.7. Aux 1 & Aux 2The system has Aux 1 & Aux 2 output to be utilized with optional features.(Consult your Authorized Dealer)8. Valet Mode    In Valet mode, the system will only activate Locks, Trunk, and theAuxiliary only9. Valet SwitchTurn On the switch to shut off the Remote Starter System only.  Turn OffBy-Pass switch to activate remote starting function.10. Shock SensorDual Stage Shock Sensor will activate 30 sec. After the system is armed(Locked).  When 1st stage is triggered the siren will chirp 4 .11. Timer StartTo enter the Timer Mode press buttons Unlock & Stop simultaneously for½ second.  The system will start every 1.5 Hrs. till Timer Mode isdeactivated and automatically canceled if the vehicle is started with the Key

Transmitter Learning ProcedureYour transmitter has been programmed at the factory. However, ifyou replace or add additional Remote, follow this procedure.Steps 1: Put the system in Valet mode with key: Ignition on and offfive times with key within 10 seconds. The parking light will flashonce.Step 2: Within 6 seconds, press the button Lock for a half-second.Step3: The parking light will flash twice to confirm Step 2.Step 4: Program 2nd transmitter or 3rd transmitter by pressing anybutton.  The system will program up to 3 transmitters. The parkinglight will flash once to confirm Step 3.13. Programming Options with TransmitterStep 1.  Programming Option 1. Press buttons Lock and Unlock for 2seconds. Programming Option 2: Press buttons Lock and Start for 2seconds. The siren will chirp once.  Now you are in the programmingmode.Step 2. Within 2 seconds, press Stop for the number of times to goto the option number you want to change. You will hear a chirp andsee the  parking lights flash each time you press button Stop.Step 3. Wait few seconds.  You will hear a number of chirps and seea number of parking light flashes corresponding the number of theoption you want to change.  If the number of chirps or flashes is notwhat you wanted, go back to the Step 1.Step 4. Press Lock for the factory setting; one chirp and one flash.Press Unlock for the Option Setting; two chirps and two flashes.• If you hear a long chirp, you are going out of theprogramming mode. Go back to the step one.• If you want to change more options go back to the step I.
