Alarm Function Upon arming, your alarm will be triggered by: • Light Impact (first stage shock sensor). The siren will chirp 4 times and the parking lights will flash 4 times. • Heavy impacts (second stage shock sensor). The siren will go off and the parking lights will flash for 60 seconds. • Door opened. The siren will go off and the parking lights will flash for 60 seconds • If you have installed the Optional starter kill function, your vehicle will not start with key when system is armed. Note: (Siren duration 30Sec. or 60Sec. refer to programming section) 3. Panic In Case of emergency, and you want to attract attention. Press button Panic. 4. Start Function Press button III for 2 seconds to start the engine. The engine will start. The engine will run 15 minutes (25 min for diesel) or 25 minutes (40 min for diesel). If the engine has a problem starting the system will retry 2 additional times. If the engine does not start after the 3rd attempt, please call you Authorized Dealer. Note: Runtime, please consult you Authorized Dealer. Diagnosis for Remote Starting Error If there is an error, you will hear three chirps when you attempt to remote starting the vehicle. 2 seconds later, the cause for the error will be indicated by the chirping and parking light flashes. Remote Starting for the manual transmission IMPORTANT 1. The transmission must be in the NEUTRAL position. 2. The vehicle windows must be rolled up. 3. Do not set the reservation mode with any people in the vehicle. 4. Do not remote start with any people in the vehicle. Note: The system is not recommended for vehicle with removable tops. Reservation Mode must be set for manual transmission. Step 1: After arriving at the destination, and before turning the engine OFF, place the transmission in the Neutral position. Step 2: Remove your foot from the foot brake. Step 3: Activate the parking brake. Step 4. Remove the key from the ignition. The engine will remain running. Step 5. Exit the vehicle and close the door within two minutes from step 3. The engine will shut off and reservation mode for the remote starter is now complete. Your vehicle is now ready for remote starting. However, the reservation mode will be cancelled if the door is opened or the CompuStar is put in Valet mode after the reservation has been set. Once cancelled, you will have to start the vehicle with the key and repeat the above 5 steps if you want to restore the reservation. Note: If you try to remote start the vehicle when the reservation mode has not been set or cancelled, the system will not start. The parking lights will flash three times Canceling Reservation Mode CompuStar 2000-AS User's Manual Page 4 of 10 If you do not want to set the reservation mode, shut off the engine before you exit the vehicle. The engine will shut off if (a) you do not activate your parking brake or press the foot brake when you turn your key to off position, (b) release your parking brake while engine is running, or if (c) you press button III between step 3 and 4. 6. Safety Shut Down System has several Shut Down inputs. That will shut down the engine or prevent from remote starting. • the Hood is opened, • the Brake is pressed, • the Valet mode is entered, or • the Valet switch is turned on. 7. Aux 1 & Aux 2 The system has Aux 1 & Aux 2 output to be utilized with optional features. (Consult your Authorized Dealer) 8. Valet Mode In Valet mode, the system will only activate Locks, Trunk, and the Auxiliary only 9. Valet Switch Turn On the switch to shut off the Remote Starter System only. Turn Off By-Pass switch to activate remote starting function. 10. Shock Sensor Dual Stage Shock Sensor will activate 30 sec. After the system is armed (Locked). When 1st stage is triggered the siren will chirp 4 . 11. Timer Start To enter the Timer Mode press buttons Unlock & Stop simultaneously for ½ second. The system will start every 1.5 Hrs. till Timer Mode is deactivated and automatically canceled if the vehicle is started with the Key CompuStar 2000-AS User's Manual Page 5 of 10 or Remotely. To Exit Timer Mode press buttons Unlock & Stop simultaneously for ½ second again. 12. Transmitter Learning Procedure Your transmitter has been programmed at the factory. However, if you replace or add additional Remote, follow this procedure. Steps 1: Put the system in Valet mode with key: Ignition on and off five times with key within 10 seconds. The parking light will flash once. Step 2: Within 6 seconds, press the button Lock for a half-second. Step3: The parking light will flash twice to confirm Step 2. nd rd Step 4: Program 2 transmitter or 3 transmitter by pressing any button. The system will program up to 3 transmitters. The parking light will flash once to confirm Step 3. 13. Programming Options with Transmitter Step 1. Programming Option 1. Press buttons Lock and Unlock for 2 seconds. Programming Option 2: Press buttons Lock and Start for 2 seconds. The siren will chirp once. Now you are in the programming mode. Step 2. Within 2 seconds, press Stop for the number of times to go to the option number you want to change. You will hear a chirp and see the parking lights flash each time you press button Stop. Step 3. Wait few seconds. You will hear a number of chirps and see a number of parking light flashes corresponding the number of the option you want to change. If the number of chirps or flashes is not what you wanted, go back to the Step 1. Step 4. Press Lock for the factory setting; one chirp and one flash. Press Unlock for the Option Setting; two chirps and two flashes. • If you hear a long chirp, you are going out of the programming mode. Go back to the step one. • If you want to change more options go back to the step I.
