Please read this user’s manual carefully before use. Brief introduction 1. Bluetooth wireless communication technology Bluetooth is a standard of close range radio-communication technology that was drawn up by Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Nokia and Toshiba. With Bluetooth technology, we can achieve the highest transmission rate among cell phones, computers, printers, PDAs and other devices. The max transmission range of class Ⅱ is 10 meters while the max transmit range of class I can reach up to 100 meters. 2. About BTH009 BTH009 is a Bluetooth intercommunication headset, which is used on the helmet to enable people to communicate clearly and conveniently while driving a motorcycle. It can also connect with a Bluetooth cell phone for hands-free communication. It has the following features: 1) Two intercommunication headsets connected to each other: Send out intercommunication Answer intercommunication and reject intercommunication End intercommunication Adjust the volume 2) BTH009 paired with a Bluetooth cell phone: Answer call, end call and reject call Redial last number Adjust the volume 3) BTH009 intercommunication headset connected to another BTH009 and to a Bluetooth cell phone at the same time: Dial a number during intercommunication Answer a call during intercommunication Getting started 1. Overview VOL- ——Turn down the volume and send out intercommunication MFB button——Turn on/off, redial last number, answer/reject call, answer/reject intercommunication USB port——It is a charging port and is used as connection port to microphone and loudspeaker Loudspeaker Microphone The protector of microphone VOL+ ——Turn down the volume and send out intercommunication 2. Installation 1) Install the microphone and loudspeaker to the main body of BTH009 as the following pictures show: 2) Install BTH009 onto the helmet as the following pictures show: Install the magic tape Install the loudspeaker of BTH009 BTH009 Installation completed Install the main body of BTH009 Install the main body of 3. Charging the battery of BTH009 First use—The Bluetooth intercommunication headsets have built-in rechargeable batteries, you must charge their batteries fully before first use. Low power—When you hear 3 “DU” tones every 30 seconds and see the red LED flashing, the battery is low power and needs to be charged. The charging steps are as follows: Step1: Pull out USB cable from the main body of BTH009; Step2: Connect one end of charger to standard power outlet and connect the other end of charger to the main body of BTH009; Step3: The red LED is on while charging. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the battery; Step4: When charging has completed, the red LED will switch off. Warning: 1) The battery is recycled. 2) Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat place such as sunshine, fire or the like. Basic operation 1. Turning on/off BTH009 Functions Operations Turning on Press and hold BTH009 MFB button for 3 seconds Turning off Press and hold BTH009 MFB button for 7-8 seconds Entering Press and hold pairing MFB button for 3-5 mode seconds LED indicator Blue LED is on for 1 second and then flashes twice Red LED is on for 1 second and then flashes twice Red and blue LEDs flash alternately Indication tone 1 long tone 1 long tone 2 short tones Remark: If you want the intercommunication headset to enter pairing mode, you have to press and hold MFB button for 3-5 seconds when the headset is turned off or in standby mode (not connected to a device). 2. Pairing BTH009 with a Bluetooth device A. Pairing with a Bluetooth cell phone You have to pair the intercommunication headset with a Bluetooth cell phone before first use. Please make sure your cell phone is Bluetooth-enabled. Specific pairing steps may vary with different cell phones. Please refer to your cell phone’s user’s manual for further information. The general pairing steps are as follows: 1) Keep BTH009 and Bluetooth cell phone within 1 meter when pairing; 2) Ensure BTH009 is turned off, otherwise turn off BTH009 first 3) Press and hold MFB button for about 3~5 seconds, the red and blue LEDs will flash alternately. BTH009 now entered pairing mode; 4) Turn on your cell phone’s Bluetooth function to search for Bluetooth devices. After the search is completed, select “BTH009” from the Bluetooth device list; 5) According to the indication, enter password or PIN No:”1234”, and press ”Yes” or “confirm”; 6) After successful pairing, select “BTH009” from the Bluetooth device list, and press “connect”. The indicator light of BTH009 will flash twice every 4 seconds if connected successfully. B. Pairing two intercommunication headsets together If you want to use the Bluetooth intercommunication function, you have to pair two intercommunication headsets together first. The general pairing steps are as follows: 1) Keep two intercommunication headsets within 1 meter when pairing; 2) First press and hold MFB buttons of both headsets simultaneously, then release MFB button of one headset until the headset enters pairing mode, and release MFB button of the other headset until blue LED is on; 3) The headset whose blue LED is on will search and connect the headset which entered pairing mode automatically. After successfully connecting, the blue LEDs of both headsets will flash twice every 4 seconds. Remarks: Pairing mode will last 2 minutes. BTH009 will switch to standby mode automatically if it can’t pair with any device after 2minutes. If you want to continue to pair the BTH009 with a Bluetooth device, please switch off BTH009 first and re-pair according to steps 1~6 mentioned above. BTH009 will turn off automatically when it can’t connect to any device after 5 minutes. BTH009 can remember 8 paired devices, when the number of paired devices exceeds 8, the first one will be replaced. Every time you switch on BTH009, it will connect to the last connected device automatically. If you want to pair it with other devices, please switch off the current device’s Bluetooth function first and try to pair BTH009 with the new device according to steps 1~6 mentioned above. BTH009 can connect with two devices simultaneously, either two Bluetooth cell phones or two intercommunication headsets or one cell phone and one headset. When BTH009 gets out of range of the connected devices it will automatically reconnect to the devices as soon as it is in range again, either if it was connected to a intercommunication headset or a Bluetooth phone or both of them. 3. Intercommunication function If you connect two intercommunication headsets to each other, you are able to intercommunicate between the devices. Making calls with BTH009 If BTH009 is connected to a Bluetooth cell phone, you BTH009. When two intercommunication headsets are connected to each other and a Bluetooth cell phone is also connected, you can answer incoming calls with the headset or dial a number with the Bluetooth cell phone during intercommunication and the intercommunication will be kept. After ending the call, the headset will recover to intercommunication. You can’t intercommunicate during a phone conversation though. 5. Following these you will be able to enjoy our product for many years. Keep it dry and don’t take it to damp places to avoid the product’s internal circuit being affected. Keep the product away from direct sunlight or hot places. High temperatures will shorten the life of electronic devices, destroy the battery or distort certain plastic parts. Don’t expose the product to cold areas. It may damage the internal circuit board. Don’t try to disassemble the product as it may get damaged if you are not professional. Don’t let it fall down onto the floor or other hard surfaces. The internal circuit might get damaged. Don’t use intensive chemical products or detergent to clean the product. Don’t scratch the surface with sharp things. Don’t remove the microphone’s protector, so the microphone won’t be damaged. Please take down the headset from the helmet when you don’t use it for a long time. If the product can’t work normally, please send it to the regularly asserted store. The staff will help you to solve the problem warmly. FAQs 1. I can’t connect BTH009 to my Bluetooth cell phone. What to do now? a) Please make sure BTH009 has been paired with a Bluetooth cell phone; b) Enable your cell phone’s Bluetooth function, please refer to your cell phone’s user’s manual for further information; c) Please make sure BTH009 and your cell phone are in the effective working range and that there are no barriers between them, such as walls and other electronic devices etc. 2. What to do when two intercommunicating headsets can’t be connected together? a) Please make sure one headset is in pairing mode while the other one should be in searching mode; b) Ensure the headsets are in their working range and that there are no barriers between them. 3.
