General notes
Structure of the installation instructions
These operating instructions are valid only in connection with the device’s operating instructtions into which this module is being integrated. The remarks concerning safety, installation
and connection described in those operating instructions must be followed!
Before installation and start up, read this manual carefully to ensure correct use!

Concurrence between the contents of these operating instructions and the described software
has been examined. It is still possible that non-compliances exist; no guarantee is assumed for
complete conformity. To allow for future developments given are subject to alteration. We do not
accept any liability for possible errors or omissions in the information contained in data,
illustrations or drawings provided.
Ziehl-Abegg AG is not liable for damage due to misuse, incorrect or improper use or
as a consequence of unauthorized repairs or modications.
Safety instructions
Danger due to electric current
• It is strictly forbidden for work to be carried out on any components while they are
connected to live voltage.
• The installation of module type EM-W is only permitted from in-house employees.

Product overview
Operational area
The radio module EM-W can only be used together with the compatible hand held terminal type
A-G-247NW or universal control module type AM-PREMIUM of Ziehl-Abegg AG.
Note: The AM-PREMIUM-W module is strictly limited for the integration
and usage in host devices of Ziehl-Abegg AG.
3.2
Function
Due to the installation of the module “EM-W”, the hand held terminal and universal control
module will enhanced by a communication function over radio link.
The radio module is basically integrated in the hand held terminal and at the universal control
module only in type AM-PREMIUM-W.

The device must be stored in its original packaging in a dry and weather-proof room.
Avoid exposure to extreme heat and cold.
Avoid over-long storage periods (we recommend a maximum of one year).
Disposal / recycling
Disposal must be carried out professionally and environmentally friendly in accordance with the
legal stipulations.

Mounting
For installation in the hand held terminal
type A-G-247NW remove the housing
and set the module in the designated slot.
Attention!
Installation in the hand held terminal
At the installation in the hand
held terminal the FCC/IC
label (EM-W inside) has to be
stick on surface of the
housing.
For installation in the universal control module
type AM-PREMIUM remove the cover
and set the module in the designated slot.
Attention: The cover must be changed by the
reassembling of the module. After the installation of the EM-W module the AM-PREMIUM-W
cover have be used with the AM-PREMIUM-W
labels.
