THE WOBURN SPEAKER WILL LOCATE DEVICES WITHIN RANGE THAT HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN CONNECTED AND WILL CONNECT THEM AUTOMATICALLY. IF NO DEVICES ARE LOCATED WITHIN THREE MINUTES, THE WOBURN SPEAKER WILL REVERT TO STANDBY STATUS (EITHER POWERSAVER MODE OR STANDARD MODE, DEPENDING ON WHICH OPTION YOU CHOOSE. THERE IS MORE INFORMATION ON MODES IN THE STANDBY MODES SECTION ON PAGE 022.). IF THE PAIR BUTTON IS PRESSED WHILE BLUETOOTH IS SELECTED AS THE AUDIO SOURCE, THE WOBURN LOUDSPEAKER WILL PERFORM A NEW SEARCH FOR THREE MINUTES AFTERWARDS, DURING WHICH TIME, THE LED LIGHT WILL RAPIDLY FLASH RED. IF A DEVICE IS MOVED OUTSIDE THE RANGE OF WOBURN SPEAKER (APPROXIMATELY 10 METRES WITHOUT OBSTACLES), THAT DEVICE IS DISCONNECTED. THE DEVICE IS AUTOMATICALLY CONNECTED AGAIN WHEN IT IS MOVED BACK WITHIN RANGE. THE WOBURN SPEAKER CAN MEMORISE UP TO SIX DEVICES AND ALWAYS STARTS SEARCHING FOR THE LAST DEVICE THAT HAS BEEN CONNECTED. IF THE WOBURN SPEAKER HAS BEEN CONNECTED TO DEVICES A–B–C–D–E–F IN THAT ORDER, DEVICE F IS GIVEN FIRST PRIORITY, WHILE DEVICE A IS GIVEN LAST PRIORITY. EVERY TIME THE WOBURN STARTS UP, IT WILL PERFORM AN AUTO CONNECTION OF DEVICES WITHIN ITS RANGE. NOTES: • THE AUTO CONNECTION FUNCTION WILL NOT WORK IF THE WOBURN LOUDSPEAKER IS TURNED OFF VIA THE MAIN POWER SWITCH AT THE TOP OF THE UNIT. • IF A SEVENTH DEVICE IS CONNECTED, DEVICE A WILL NO LONGER BE MEMORISED. • ALWAYS START BLUETOOTH IN YOUR SMARTPHONE/COMPUTER FIRST, AND THEN START WOBURN LOUDSPEAKER TO RECEIVE AN AUTO CONNECTION. 016. CONNECTING SOURCES BY CABLE THERE ARE A NUMBER OF WAYS TO CONNECT TO YOUR WOBURN THE OLD FASHIONED WAY, USING A CABLE. SELECT OPTICAL AS SOURCE BY PUSHING THE SOURCE/WAKE BUTTON UNTIL THE OPTICAL LED IS LIT (SEE PAGE 013.). CONNECT THE OPTICAL AUDIO CABLE’S CONNECTOR POINTS TO THE OUTPUT PORT LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE LOUDSPEAKER LABELLED OPTICAL IN. CONNECT THE OPTICAL AUDIO CABLE TO THE OPTICAL AUDIO INPUT ON YOUR HOME THEATRE, APPLE TV OR OTHER RECEIVER. STANDBY MODES ON THE BACK OF YOUR WOBURN, YOU WILL FIND A SWITCH THAT ALLOWS YOU TO CHOOSE BETWEEN TWO DIFFERENT STANDBY MODES: POWERSAVER OR STANDARD. EUROPEAN UNION REGULATION STATES THAT ELECTRONIC DEVICES MAY ONLY HAVE 0.5W POWER CONSUMPTION IN STANDBY MODE (THE EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE ON ENERGY RELATED PRODUCTS, OR ERP). THIS IS WHY THE WOBURN’S FACTORY DEFAULT SETTING IS THE POWERSAVER MODE, BECAUSE THE POWERSAVER MODE SAVES MORE ENERGY THAN THE STANDARD MODE. AS THE NAME IMPLIES, USING THIS SETTING SAVES POWER. WHEN YOU STOP PLAYING MUSIC, THE WOBURN WILL GO INTO A LOW-POWER STATE AFTER 20 MINUTES. POWERSAVER MODE CAN BE DISABLED IF YOU WANT WOBURN TO START AUTOMATICALLY AND STAY VISIBLE ON YOUR LIST OF BLUETOOTH DEVICES AFTER 20 MINUTES. TO DISABLE POWERSAVER, SIMPLY CHANGE THE SWITCH TO STANDARD MODE. 001. 022. 002. POWERSAVER & STANDARD 001. POWERSAVER STANDBY MODE: THE WOBURN WILL GO TO POWER SAVING STANDBY MODE AFTER 20 MINUTES OF NOT RECEIVING A SOUND SIGNAL. IF YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO USE THE POWERSAVER STANDBY MODE, THE WOBURN WILL NOT WAKE UP AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU BEGIN PLAYING MUSIC AND WILL NOT SHOW UP AS AN AVAILABLE DEVICE IN YOUR BLUETOOTH LIST AFTER IT HAS GONE INTO THIS LOW-POWER STATE. TO ACTIVATE WOBURN AND PLAY MUSIC FROM ANY SOURCE AFTER THE UNIT HAS GONE TO STANDBY MODE, PRESS THE WAKE BUTTON ONCE. THIS WILL BRING THE WOBURN BACK TO LIFE AND READY TO PLAY AGAIN. 002. STANDARD STANDBY MODE: THE WOBURN WILL GO INTO STANDBY MODE AFTER 20 MINUTES OF NOT RECEIVING A SOUND SIGNAL. IF YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO USE THE STANDARD STANDBY MODE, THE WOBURN WILL AUTOMATICALLY ‘WAKE UP’ WHEN THE LAST SOURCE IS PLAYED. FOR EXAMPLE, IF A SOURCE CONNECTED WITH A CABLE BEGINS TO PLAY, THE SPEAKER WAKES UP AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THAT SOURCE IS SELECTED. IF A BLUETOOTH DEVICE WAS USED AS THE LAST SOURCE, SIMPLY TOUCHING THE LATEST BLUETOOTH DEVICE TO HAVE BEEN USED WILL WAKE THE WOBURN UP AUTOMATICALLY. IF YOU WANT TO PLAY ANOTHER BLUETOOTH DEVICE INSTEAD OF THE LAST ONE USED, PRESS THE WAKE BUTTON ONCE TO PLAY MUSIC AGAIN. ADJUSTING THE VOLUME/BASS/TREBLE TURN THE KNOB TO ADJUST THE: 001. BLUETOOTH TROUBLE SHOOTING WOBURN PROBLEM CAUSE ACTION BLUETOOTH WILL NOT CONNECT. Woburn is too far away from your device during the pairing process. Place the Woburn closer to the Bluetooth device during the pairing process. BLUETOOTH CONNECTION DOES NOT WORK AS WELL AS IT SHOULD. You may be in an area with poor reception. Move to an area with better reception to improve Bluetooth connectivity. THE SOUND QUALITY IS POOR WHEN CONNECTED THROUGH BLUETOOTH. The greater the distance between the Woburn and the Bluetooth device, the poorer the sound quality will be. Move the Woburn closer to the Bluetooth device. If the distance exceeds the Bluetooth device’s wireless range, the connection will be lost. BLUETOOTH CONNECTION IS BROKEN OR DISRUPTED. The Bluetooth connection only works when it is near the device. The connection is automatically broken if the Bluetooth device moves outside of the area. The connection may even be affected due to obstacles such as walls or doors. Ensure that the Woburn is placed near the Bluetooth device, and unobstructed by obstacles such as walls or doors. THE WOBURN LOUDSPEAKER CANNOT FIND A BLUETOOTH CONNECTION. The loudspeaker cannot search or connect correctly in the following cases: Please ensure that there is no electrical interference surrounding the Woburn, that your Bluetooth device is on and working properly. 028. • If there is a strong electric field surrounding the Woburn. • If the Bluetooth device is turned off, not available or does not function as it should. • Please note that items such as, for example, microwave ovens, wireless network adapters, fluorescent lights and gas cookers use the same frequency range as the Bluetooth device, which could lead to electrical disturbances. NOTES: • A BLUETOOTH DEVICE COULD CAUSE SOUND-RELATED OR TECHNICAL FAULTS, DEPENDING ON USE, IN THE FOLLOWING CASES: - WHEN SOME PART OF THE BODY IS IN CONTACT WITH THE RECEIVING/ TRANSMITTING SYSTEM FOR THE BLUETOOTH DEVICE OR THE WOBURN LOUDSPEAKER. - ELECTRICAL VARIATIONS DUE TO OBSTACLES IN THE FORM OF WALLS, CORNERS, ETC. - EXPOSURE TO ELECTRICAL DISRUPTIONS FROM DEVICES WITHIN THE SAME FREQUENCY BAND, FOR EXAMPLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, MICROWAVE OVENS AND WIRELESS NETWORKS. • THIS WIRELESS DEVICE MAY CAUSE ELECTRICAL DISRUPTIONS DURING USE. • YOU DO NOT NEED TO ENTER THE PIN CODE (PASSWORD) WHEN CONNECTING THE BLUETOOTH DEVICE TO WOBURN SPEAKER. IF THE WINDOW FOR ENTERING THE PIN CODE IS DISPLAYED, YOU SHOULD ENTER <0000>. • YOU CANNOT CONNECT TO A BLUETOOTH DEVICE THAT ONLY SUPPORTS THE HF (HANDS FREE) AREA FUNCTION.
