First Time Users:  You must enter yourStudent ID before you can begin using yourPRS Clicker to transmit Responses.1Press   to display the Setup Menu.2Scroll   or   to display the ID: menuoption and press  .3Input your Student ID. (See SetupMenu on page __ if your Student IDcontains alpha characters.)4Press   to save your Student ID.BASIC OPERATION1Slide the Power Switch up to turn the RFClicker on.Note that the initial screen displays the currentbattery level in the lower right corner of the LCDdisplay. Your Clicker will then begin automaticallyscanning for a Class to join.2Scroll   or  , if necessary, to your Class andpress   to join the Class.You are now in Test Mode and ready to participatein a PRS Session, or2Press the Quick Jump number displayed onthe board to quickly find your Class. Press to join the Class.
SETUP MENUUse the Setup Menu to input your Student ID, setoperational modes and select a Test Mode. Notethe visual, navigation cues on the Setup Menu:Scroll   or   to view additional Setup optionsPress   to view this Setup submenuCycle through settings, or cycle through menulevelsEntering Alpha Characters:1Press one of the letter keys (A through E, T, or F)to display that alpha character on the display.2Use the    Keys to move to the letter youwant to input.2Press   to stop the Autoscan and display theSetup Menu.
Repeat these steps for each letter you want toinput.Enter Student ID1If you are not in the Setup Menu, press  .Scroll to ID: and press  .2Enter the numbers and letters of yourStudent ID, using the Number and LetterKeys on the keypad.3Press   to save your Student ID andreturn to the Main Setup Menu.Sleep Mode and AutoOffBoth Sleep Mode and AutoOff are designed toextend battery life.
New Class ScanSelect this Setup Menu option when you want join aClass. When Autoscan has finished, scroll    tothe the Class you want to join and press  .DiagnosticsThe Diagnostic information of most importance toyou will probably be Battery Life. Check thisDiagnostic option periodically, so you don’t end upwith a dead unit at a critical time. Instructions forreplacing the batteries can be found on page __.Homework ModeThis operational mode was designed to allow youto answer Questions offsite, save them and sendthem to the PRS Receiver when asked to do so.Press   to display the Homework submenu,where you will find four options—New, Continue,End and Send.• Select New to start a new Homework Session.You will be prompted to enter a Test Number.• Select Continue when you are ready to returnto the Homework assignment and answermore Questions.
• Select  End when you are ready to take abreak, or when you have completed theHomework assignment.• Select Send when your Instructor asks theclass to turn in their Homework assignments.Joining a ClassMost of the time you will be using your PRS Clickerto electronically respond to Questions in theclassroom. When you turn on your Clicker, itautomatically begins scanning for active PRS RFReceivers. Each Receiver is broadcasting for itsspecific class. When the Autoscan is completed,scroll    the list of Classes and when you havefound your class, press   to join it.The Questions you will be asked during a PRSSession will be projected at the front of theclassroom. Your instructor can choose fromamong five types of Questions— Multiple Choice,
True/False, Numeric, Series, and Short Answer.Question Types:•Multiple Choice Questions display a list ofnumbered or lettered Response options.•True/False Questions use the T and F buttonsonly.•Numeric Responses of up to 16 characterscan include the Decimal Point and the MinusSign.• Series Questions require you to put theResponses in some sort of order.•Short Answer Questions allow a Response ofup to 16 characters.Responding to Questions:The process for responding to a Question is thesame, regardless of the Question type:1Press the button(s) that represent youranswer,2press  , then3press   to move to the next Question.

REPLACING THE BATTERIES1On the back of the RF Clicker, remove theScrew holding the Battery Cover in place.2Remove the Battery Cover by pushing downon the Thumb Grip and sliding it toward thebottom of the Clicker.3Remove the old batteries and discard themfollowing the proper disposal procedures.4Insert three alkaline AAA batteries, positioningthem properly to ensure the correct polarity.5Slide the Battery Cover back into place andreplace the Screw.
