Safety information These operating instructions contain information and safety regulations which must be rigorously observed for safe operation in the described conditions. Failure to observe this information and these instructions can have serious consequences or may violate regulations. Please read these operating instructions carefully before starting to use the device! In the event of conflicting information, the details specified in the safety precautions shall apply. In case of doubt (in the form of translation or printing errors), the English version shall apply. 2. Faults and damage If there is any reason to suspect that the safety of the device has been impaired, it must be withdrawn from use and removed immediately from the hazardous-area. Measures must be taken to prevent it from being restarted accidentally. The safety of the device may be compromised, if, for example: • • • • • • • There is visible damage to the housing. The device has been subjected to excessive loads. The device has been improperly stored. The device has been damaged in transit. Device markings or inscriptions are illegible. Malfunctions occur. Permitted limit values have been exceeded. 3. Safety regulations Use of the Ex-RSM Aurelis BT* intrinsically safe speaker microphone set assumes that the operator observes the conventional safety regulations and has read the certificate of conformity in order to eliminate faulty operation of the device. 3.1 Special condition of safe use The following points are to be observed: • Do not disassemble the device. • Friction of the housing should be avoided as far as possible for electrostatic reasons. • Only accessories approved by ecom instruments GmbH refer to clause 3.2 may be used or see relevant product page at www.ecom-ex.com. • T he unit may not be used in close proximity to processes generating high charges. • It must be ensured that the device is not taken into zones 0 or 20. • In IIC (Zone) hazardous areas the applicant has to ensure that the Metal Part of the Belt Clip is electrostatically earthed, e.g. by the use of ESD clothing. • The belt clip shall only be installed outside of the hazardous areas. • The belt clip shall not be removed from the device inside hazardous areas. • T he battery module may only be charged outside the hazardous areas and only by using safety box ‘SB01’ in between the power plug and the device. • For charging first connect the safety box “SB01” to the Ex-RSM Aurelis BT, then connect the safety box to an USB-A socket. If done differently, the safety box may get harmed. • The battery module may only be charged in a temperature range of 0-45°C Only valid for model Ex-RSM Aurelis BT • It must be ensured that the device is not taken into zones 0 or 20! Functional description / operating instructions Please read these operating instructions carefully so that you are familiar with, and are able to use, all of the functions of your Ex-RSM Aurelis BT. For your own safety and information please read through the instructions on the following pages! 6.1 Functional description Multi-Function-Button (MFB) ò high PTTð Volume low Mic ñ Accessories 6.2 Start-up 6.2.1 Charging of the battery Before you first switch on the device, please make sure the battery is fully charged. The battery should be charged for the first time for at least 5-6 hours. 6.2.2 Connection to mobile phones You can turn the Ex-RSM Aurelis BT on while pushing the button On/Off for approx. 2-3 seconds until the button flashes in red and blue colors. The Ex-RSM Aurelis BT reports with the message “Bluetooth On”. If you connect the Ex-RSM Aurelis BT to a mobile phone, please make sure the Bluetooth of the mobile phone is switched on. For more detailed instruction please look at your mobile phones instruction manual. Please “Search for new Bluetooth devices” at your mobile phone. Now “Aurelis Bluetooth” appears at your display. When you first time connect the Ex-RSM Aurelis BT to the phone you have to type in a PIN. The PIN for the Ex-RSM Aurelis BT is “0000”. Now you can connect the mobile phone to the remote speaker microphone. The Ex-RSM Aurelis reports with “Bluetooth connected”. 6.2.3 Control options • Accept incoming calls Short press on MFB to accept. • Reject incoming calls Long press on MFB to reject. • End call Short press on MFB to end call. • Last dialed number Double click on MFB to initiate call to last dialed number. 7. Safety precautions for the battery Damaged batteries and chargers should be removed from use and sent to ecom instruments GmbH for inspection. Note: Extreme temperatures can have an adverse effect on charging the battery module. - Do not dispose of the battery module in a fire. - Do not short-circuit the battery module. - Dispose of the battery module in accordance with local regulations. Do not dispose of the battery module with normal household waste. High quality lithium-ion batteries are used in your Ex-RSM Aurelis BT. These batteries have numerous advantages in everyday use, such as a low weight and high capacity in a nevertheless compact construction. In addition these batteries also exhibit practically no memory effect. However, these batteries are susceptible to a natural ageing process which impairs their functionality. Modern batteries today have a lifespan of around 500 charge cycles, which, when used daily, corresponds to a service life of approximately 2 years. The ageing process increases rapidly after this period, which means that the batteries are deemed technically defective after 500 charge cycles. Moreover, the battery cells could expand and cause irreparable damage to your device in a worst case scenario. For this reason rechargeable batteries with lithium cells should be replaced after 2 years at the latest or after reaching a battery capacity that is 50% of its initial value. 8. Compliance statement for Ex-RSM Aurelis BT The device is tested according all related FCC and IC SAR and RF field strength limits and is found to be in compliance. FCC § 15.19 labeling requirements This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1. This device may not cause harmful interference, and 2. This device must accept any inference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. FCC § 15.21 information to user Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate equipment. FCC § 15.105 information to user This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the inference at his own expense. Industry Canada statement Caution: This marking indicates that the user should read all included documentation before use. Retain this supplement for future reference. User’s of this product are cautioned to use accessories and peripherals approved by ecom instruments GmbH. The use of accessories other than those recommended, or changes to the product that is not approved by ecom instruments GmbH may void the compliance of this product and may result in the loss of the user’s authority to operate the equipment. Repair Repairs are to be conducted by ecom instruments GmbH or by personnel or service centers authorized by ecom instruments GmbH, because of the safety of the device needs to be tested after repairs are implemented. To facilitate the repair processes please complete and submit the enclosed repair report sheet. The actual repair report sheet can be downloaded from the service area at www.ecom-ex.com. 10. Cleaning, maintenance and storage • Only use a suitable cloth or sponge to clean the unit. Do not use any solvents or abrasive cleaning agents when cleaning. • It is recommended that you have the functionality and accuracy of the unit inspected by the manufacturer every two years. 11. Disposal Old electrical devices as well as „historical“ old electrical devices from ecom instruments GmbH are supplied for disposal at our expense and disposed of free of charge in accordance with European Directive 2002/96/EC and the German electrical law of 16/03/2005. The costs associated with returning devices to ecom instruments GmbH are to be borne by the sender. In accordance with Article 1, Section 18 and Article 2 of the Act revising the law of Waste-Related Product Responsibility for Batteries and Accumulators (Gesetz zur Neuregelung der abfallrechtlichen Produktverantwortung für Batterien und Akkumulatoren) dated 25 June 2009, we are obligated to provide the following information. Your device contains a rechargeable lithium battery. Depleted batteries or rechargeable batteries that can no longer be recharged should never be disposed of along with normal or household waste. Old batteries can contain harmful substances that are hazardous to health and damaging to the environment. Please return the batteries/rechargeable batteries. Return is free of charge and required by law. Please only dispose of discharged batteries in the designated containers and tape the terminals of lithium batteries. Note: The battery used in this unit poses a fire hazard and can cause chemical injuries if it is used improperly. Neither the battery nor the battery cells should be opened or disassembled and they should not be burned or exposed to temperatures exceeding 100 °C. If the battery needs to be disposed of, it can be removed as described under point (8.1). The disposal regulations specified above are also applicable for old devices. All batteries and rechargeable batteries can be recycled. Precious raw materials such as iron, zinc and nickel can therefore be reused. The symbol has the following meaning: Batteries and rechargeable batteries should not be disposed of along with normal or household waste. 12. Warranty and liability In accordance with our general terms and conditions ecom instruments GmbH provides a warranty for this product for a period of two years regarding its function and material under the specified and permitted operating and maintenance conditions. This excludes all parts that are subject to wear and tear (e.g. ear pads, windscreen, earpieces and other such components). This warranty does not extend to products that are used improperly, have been modified, neglected, damaged on accidents or exposed to abnormal operating conditions and inappropriate handling. Any claims under the warranty can be invoked by returning the defective equipment to the manufacturer. We reserve the right to repair, adjust or exchange the device. The aforementioned guarantee conditions are the sole and the only right of the purchaser to compensation, are exclusively valid and replace all other contract or legal warranty obligations. ecom instruments GmbH assumes no liability for special, direct, indirect accompanying or consequential damage as well as losses including the loss of data, independent of whether it was caused by violation of the warranty obligation, lawful or unlawful action, action in good faith or any other action. If the limitation of a legal warranty as well as the exclusion or limitation of accompanying or consequential damage is not permissible in certain countries, it may be that the aforementioned limitations and exclusion are not valid for every purchaser. 10 Should any such clause of these warranty conditions be declared ineffective of unenforceable by a competent court, then the effectiveness or enforceability of any of the other conditions of these warranty conditions shall remain unaffected by such a judgement. Battery recycling information This product contains or uses a lithium-ion (Li-ion) main battery. When the battery reaches the end of its useful life, the spent battery should be disposed of a qualified recycler or hazardous materials handler. Do not mix this battery with the solid waste stream. Informations de sécurité Ces instructions d’utilisation contiennent des informations et des règlementations de sécurité qui doivent être strictement respectées pour une utilisation sans danger dans les conditions indiquées. Pannes et dommages Si l’on suspecte une défaillance au niveau de la sécurité de l’appareil, il ne doit plus être utilisé et être immédiatement retiré de la zone de danger. Prendre les mesures nécessaires pour prévenir toute remise en marche accidentelle. La sécurité de l’appareil peut être compromise, si par exemple : • • • • • • • Des dommages externes sont visibles sur le boîtier. L’appareil a été soumis à des charges excessives. Il a été stocké de manière incorrecte. Il a été endommagé lors du transport. Des marquages ou inscriptions sur l’appareil sont illisibles. L’appareil présente des dysfonctionnements. Les valeurs limites autorisées ont été dépassées. 3. Réglementations liées à la sécurité L’utilisation de l’ensemble, haut-parleur/microphone Ex-RSM Aurelis BT*, à sécurité intrinsèque, suppose que l’utilisateur respecte les réglementations de sécurité conventionnelles et qu’il ait lu le certificat de conformité pour éviter toute utilisation inappropriée de l’appareil. 3.1 Conditions spéciales d’utilisation en toute sécurité Les points suivants doivent être respectés : • Ne pas démonter l’appareil. • Éviter autant que possible les frictions sur le boîtier pour des raisons électrostatiques. • N’utiliser que des accessoires agréés par ecom instruments GmbH, voir la clause 3.2, ou voir la page produits sur www.ecom-ex.com. 13 • L ’appareil ne doit pas être utilisé à proximité de processus générant des charges importantes. • Il ne doit pas être emmené dans les zones 0 et 20. • En zone IIC, zones dangereuses, l’utilisateur doit s’assurer que la partie métallique du clip de ceinture est électrostatiquement mis à la terre, par exemple à l’aide d’un vêtement ESD. • N‘installer le clip de ceinture qu‘en dehors des zones de danger. • Ne retirer le clip de ceinture de l‘appareil qu‘en dehors des zones à risque. • Le module batterie ne peut être chargé qu‘en dehors des zones à risque et uniquement en utilisant la boîte de sécurité « SB01 » entre la prise de courant et l‘appareil. • Pour charger, connecter d‘abord la boîte de sécurité « SB01 » à l‘Ex-RSM Aurelis BT, puis connecter la boîte de sécurité à une prise USB-A. Si vous opérez différemment, le boîtier de sécurité pourrait subir des dommages. • Le module batterie ne peut être chargé qu‘à une température comprise entre 0° et 45ºC. Description fonctionnelle / Instructions d‘utilisation Veuillez lire attentivement ces instructions d‘utilisation, afin de vous familiariser avec toutes les fonctions de votre Ex-RSM Aurelis BT et être capable de les utiliser. Pour votre propre sécurité et votre information, veuillez lire les instructions des pages suivantes ! 6.1 Description fonctionnelle Bouton multifonction ò haut PTTð Volume Faible Mic ñ Accessoires 6.2 Démarrage 6.2.1 Chargement de la batterie Avant de mettre l‘appareil sous tension, assurez-vous que la batterie est bien chargée. La première fois, la batterie doit être chargée au moins pendant 5 à 6 heures. 6.2.2 Connexion à des téléphones portables Vous pouvez allumer l‘Ex-RSM Aurelis BT en appuyant sur le bouton On/Off pendant environ 2 à 3 secondes, jusqu‘à ce que le bouton clignote rouge et bleu. L‘Ex-RSM Aurelis BT envoie le message « Bluetooth On ». Si vous connectez l‘Ex-RSM Aurelis BT à un téléphone mobile, assurez-vous que le Bluetooth du téléphone est allumé. Pour en savoir plus, veuillez consulter le manuel d‘instructions de votre téléphone mobile. 16 Veuillez « Rechercher de nouveaux appareils Bluetooth » sur votre téléphone mobile. Maintenant « Aurelis Bluetooth » s‘affiche. Lorsque vous connectez pour la première fois l‘Ex-RSM Aurelis BT au téléphone, vous devez taper un PIN. Le PIN pour l‘Ex-RSM Aurelis BT est « 0000 ». Vous pouvez maintenant connecter le téléphone au haut-parleur/microphone distant. L‘Ex-RSM Aurelis BT envoie le message « Bluetooth On ». 6.2.3 Options de commandes • Accepter les appels entrants Appuyez brièvement sur MFB pour les accepter. • Rejeter les appels entrants Appuyez longuement sur MFB pour les rejeter. • Terminer un appel Appuyez brièvement sur MFB pour y mettre fin. • Dernier numéro composé Double-cliquez sur MFB pour refaire le dernier rappel. 7. Remarques relatives à la sécurité de la batterie Les modules de batterie et chargeurs endommagés ne doivent pas être utilisés. Il est recommandé de les envoyer à ecom instruments GmbH en vue de leur vérification. Remarque : Les températures extrêmes peuvent affecter la capacité de votre module batterie à se charger. • Ne pas jeter au feu le module batterie. • Ne pas court-circuiter le module batterie. • Éliminer le module batterie conformément à la législation locale. Ne pas jeter le module batterie dans une poubelle pour ordures ménagères. L‘Ex-RSM Aurelis BT comporte des batteries lithium Ion haute performance. Ces éléments offrent de nombreux avantages au quotidien, parmi lesquels, un poids léger et de haute capacité malgré une conception compacte. Par ailleurs, ils ne présentent quasiment aucun effet mémoire. Ces batteries sont toutefois soumises à un vieillissement naturel qui entrave leur fonctionnement. Les éléments de batterie moderne ont actuellement une durée de vie d’environ 500 cycles de charge, ce qui correspond à une durée d’utilisation d’environ 2 ans si l‘appareil est utilisé quotidiennement. Une fois cette durée écoulée, le vieillissement naturel s’accélère, de sorte que les éléments sont 17 techniquement considérés comme étant défectueux au bout de 500 cycles de chargement. Les éléments de la batterie risquent en outre de gonfler et, dans le pire des cas, causer des dommages irréparables à votre appareil. Pour cette raison, il est recommandé de remplacer les accumulateurs au lithium au plus tard au bout de 2 ans ou dès lors que la capacité de l’accumulateur a atteint 50 % de sa capacité initiale. 8. Déclaration de conformité L’appareil a été testé selon les normes correspondantes FCC, IC, SAR et sur les limites d’intensité de champ RF, et il est estimé y être conforme. La conformité de l‘appareil numérique canadien Le present appareil est conforme aux CNR d’Industrie Canada applicaables aux appreils radio exempts de licence. L’exploitation est autorisée aux deux conditions suivantes: 1. L’appareil ne doit pas produire de brouillage, et 2. L’utilisat de l’appareil doit accepter tout brouillage radioélectrique sui, meme si le brouillage est susceptible d’en compromettre le fonctionnement. 9. Réparation Les réparations doivent être effectuées par ecom instruments GmbH ou par un personnel ou des centres de réparation autorisés par ecom instruments GmbH, car la sécurité de l‘appareil doit être testée une fois la réparation effectuée. Pour faciliter la réparation, veuillez remplir et remettre la fiche de rapport de réparation jointe. Vous pouvez télécharger la fiche de rapport de réparation actuelle depuis la zone relative à l‘entretien, sur le site www. ecom-ex.com. 18 10. Nettoyage, maintenance et stockage Utiliser uniquement une éponge ou un tissu adapté pour nettoyer l‘unité. Ne pas utiliser de solvant, ni agent abrasif pour le nettoyage. Il est recommandé de faire contrôler, tous les deux ans par le fabricant, le fonctionnement et la précision de l‘unité. 11. Mise au rebut ecom instruments GmbH prend en charge gratuitement la mise au rebut des appareils électriques usagés et les appareils électriques usagés « historiques » ecom, ceci conformément à la directive européenne 2002/96/CE et à la loi allemande du 16/03/2005. Les frais associés au renvoi des appareils à ecom instruments GmbH doivent être supportés par l expéditeur. Conformément à l‘article 1, section 18 et à l‘article 2 de la loi du 25 juin 2009 sur la nouvelle réglementation sur la Responsabilité pour les produits soumis au droit des déchets concernant les batteries et accumulateurs (Gesetz zur Neuregelung der abfallrechtlichen Produktverantwortung für Batterien und Akkumulatoren), nous sommes dans l‘obligation de fournir les informations ci-après. Votre appareil contient une batterie lithium rechargeable. Les batteries déchargées ou les batteries rechargeables qui ne peuvent plus être rechargées ne doivent pas être jetées avec les déchets normaux, ni avec les déchets ménagers. Les anciennes batteries peuvent contenir des substances nocives, dangereuses pour la santé et l‘environnement. Veuillez retourner ces batteries rechargeables ou non. Le renvoi est gratuit. Il s‘agit d‘une obligation légale. Jetez les batteries déchargées uniquement dans les conteneurs destinés à cet effet et collez de l‘adhésif sur les bornes des batteries lithium. Remarque : La batterie contenue dans cet appareil présente un risque d‘incendie et peut provoquer des blessures chimiques si elle n‘est pas utilisée correctement. Ne jamais ouvrir ni démonter la batterie ou les cellules de la batterie et ne jamais les brûler ou les exposer à des températures supérieures à 100 °C. Si la batterie doit être éliminée, on peut s‘en débarrasser comme décrit au point (8.1). Les réglementations d‘élimination mentionnées ci-dessus s‘appliquent également aux appareils plus anciens. Toutes les batteries rechargeables, ou non, peuvent être recyclées. Les matériaux précieux, tels que le fer, le zinc et le nickel peuvent donc être revalorisés. 19 Le symbole possède la signification suivante : Les batteries rechargeables ou non ne doivent pas être jetées avec les déchets normaux ou ménagers. 12. Garantie et responsabilité Conformément à nos conditions générales, ecom instruments GmbH offre une garantie pour ce produit, pour une période de deux ans, pièces et main d‘œuvre, en respect des conditions d‘entretien et d‘utilisation permises et spécifiées. Ceci ne comprend pas les pièces d‘usure (ex : accessoires d‘oreille, protection contre le vent, écouteurs et autres composants similaires). Cette garantie ne couvre pas les produits qui sont utilisés de manière incorrecte, ont été modifiés, négligés, endommagés lors d’accidents ou exposés à des conditions de fonctionnement anormales ou à une manipulation inappropriée. Toute réclamation tombant sous le coup de la garantie peut être invoquée en renvoyant le matériel défectueux au fabricant. Nous nous réservons le droit d’échanger, de modifier ou de réparer le matériel.
