Winter is over! Now it's time to adjust your Peaksaver thermostat from Heat to Cool.
The following are instructions to aid you in converting your Peaksaver thermostat to summer settings.
Thermostat Display: A white, rectangular Peaksaver thermostat is shown. Its digital display indicates a current temperature of 26 degrees, the time is 6:30 PM, and the mode is set to "COOL". Below the display are buttons labeled "FAN", "SYSTEM", "SCHED", "HOLD", "CLOCK", and "SCREEN".
Step 1: Initiate Cooling Mode
Press the "SYSTEM" button until the word "COOL" is flashing on the display. Then, press the "DONE" button. The text in the lower-left square of the display will change from "SCHED" to "DONE", and the word "COOL" will stop flashing.
Screen Interaction: A close-up of the thermostat screen shows the "SYSTEM" button being pressed, causing "COOL" to flash. The "DONE" button, located in the lower-left area of the screen, is then pressed, changing the display text from "SCHED" to "DONE" and stopping the "COOL" flashing.
Step 2: Activate Air Conditioning
Temporarily set the temperature on the thermostat to a value below the current room temperature displayed (e.g., 23°C). The word "WAIT" will appear just below the "SET TO" temperature display. You will hear a faint "click", and the Air Conditioning system will begin to activate.
The "WAIT" indicator will disappear, and "COOL ON" will appear on the display. Note that some systems may have a 10-15 minute delay before the cooling engages. Once you hear the compressor fan running, you should feel cool air at the vents. After confirming the system is operational, set the thermostat to your desired higher temperature to conserve energy (e.g., 26°C or 79°F).
Temperature Adjustment: The thermostat display shows the temperature being adjusted from 26 to 23 degrees. The "WAIT" message appears below the "SET TO" temperature, indicating the system is preparing to cool. The final state will show "COOL ON".
Congratulations! You have successfully completed the conversion to summer settings.
Troubleshooting Tips
If the Air Conditioning does not activate after the waiting period:
- Ensure the word "COOL" is indicated on the display and the set temperature is approximately 3 degrees lower than the current room temperature.
- Verify that the Air Conditioning cover has been removed from the outdoor compressor unit.
- Locate your Electrical Service panel. Ensure the circuit breaker dedicated to the Air Conditioning unit is switched ON. Breaker colors can vary, but they are often black and may be labeled with numbers like 15, 20, 25, or 30. After switching the breaker ON, allow a few minutes for the Air Conditioning to start.
