PowerPath Tagsare used as part of advanced RTLS technology that can contribute to optimum usage of assets in a facility. This Quick Start Guide contains instructions for installing your PowerPath Tag, connecting your Tags to your asset, and for initially configuring the tags. 1.2 Additional Documentation This Quick Start Guide contains basic information for physically installing PowerPath Tags. PowerPath Tags can be used in a variety of different RTLS systems, some of which may require special software configuration as well. Please see any additional documentation which accompanies your product for further information. 1.3 Parts Before you begin installation, make sure you have the following parts on hand: Part Comment PowerPath Tag Supplied by Vendor C13 Power Cable Not supplied by Vendor Quick Start Guide Supplied by Vendor Additional documentation and software Your RTLS Vendor may supply additional documentation and software in support of this product For mounted installations you may also need the following items: Tie-wraps Not supplied by Vendor Double sided tape Not supplied by Vendor 1.4 Important Notices • The Model PPT-200 Tagcontains 802.11 and Bluetooth Low Energy transmitting devices, and must be installed in a manor which provides at least 20 cm (7.8 inches) of separation distance from all persons. • Obtaining the Latest Software Version: You can use the Emanate Tag Management server to upgrade your tags with the latest firmware. Initial Activation: In order for the tag to communicate with the Wi-Fi network and the PowerPath server, basic network access parameters must be configured into the tag. This configuration is done with the PowerPath Tag iPhone App. See Section 3 for more information. 2. Physical Connection: The tag must then be physically connected to the device to be tracked. See Section 4 for more information. 3. Additional Software Configuration: Once activated and connected to the device, additional configuration is done from the PowerPath Server. See the documentation accompanying the PowerPath Server for more information. In orrder to confiigure the tagg from the iP Phone application, you must first w wake up the tag. In that case, you should firstt charge up tthe tag by plugging it in nto an AC ou utlet for 2 hou urs. 3.3 Conne ecting th he iPhone e App You should see tthe PowerPaath iPhone App A icon on your phonee. If the Pow werPath iPh hone Appllication is no ot installed on o your pho one, first install it using the Apple A App Store. Oncee you have started the App, you will be presentted with a lisst of tags thaat are ready y for activ vation. Seleect the desirred tag from m the list. The PP PT-200 is raated for 15A A operation. The PPT-2000 cannot be used with an ny devicces which reqquire rating of o more thann 15A. Warniing. To avoid contaminaating or infeccting personnnel, the serviice environm ment, or otherr equipment, make sure thhat equipmennt which hass been used before has beeen appropriaately disin nfected and decontaminat ted. 1. Insert the Tagg’s C13 cablle into the C114 connectorr on the devicce to be trackked. Do not n mount thee tag in a place where it will w be subjecct to drippingg liquid, spilllage, excessive cond densation, or other significant volumee of moisture. 1. Mounting Op ption 1: Mount the tag to t a pole or other narro ow object on n the device using tie‐wraps, feeeding the wraps througgh the belt‐lloop openinggs on the bo ottom of thetag. 2. Option 2: Mount the tag with strong sticky tape or o other adheesive, makingg sure the tag g is secure. 4.3 Conne ecting to o AC Pow wer The PP PT-200 is raated for 15A A operation. The PPT-200 cannot bee used with any devicces which reqquiresmax cu urrent of morre than 15A.. Proteccting againstt Electric Sh hock. The PPT-200 is cllassified as C Class I Equippment with an internal power sourceeaccording too IEC 60601-1/EN 606011-1/CSAC222.2 601.1/UL L 2601-1, which means thatt it isan instruument includded in the protective grouunding (proteective earth) system of thee room bywaay of groundding contacts in the power plug.To prootect the patiient and hosp pital persoonnel, when operating froom an AC soource, tag muust be groundded. You muust use an app propriate C13 3-wire cableewhich grounnds the tag too the power lline ground (protective eaarth) when plugged O NOT OPER RATE THE PPT-200 ON N A 2-WIRE AC intoaan appropriatte 3-wire receeptacle. DO SUPP PLY. Afterr the Tag is securely mo ounted, conn nect a standard IEC6032 20 3‐wire C13 (female) power cord into the tagg in order to o power the tracked devvice.
